Kanye West sparks controversy as Marilyn Manson appears on Sunday Service

Kanye West today (October 31) brought his Sunday Service back for a livestream event.

The artist, who is now known legally as Ye, sparked controversy as the event featured Marilyn Manson who has been accused of sexual assault, misconduct and abuse by multiple women in the past year, including his former partner Evan Rachel Wood. He has denied the allegations, calling them “horrible distortions of reality”.

West also controversially brought out the musician at a listening party for new album ‘DONDA’ at Soldier Field in Chicago in August. When the album in question finally dropped, Manson was credited as a co-writer on the songs ‘Jail’ and ‘Jail Pt. 2’.

Appearing alongside the pair was Justin Bieber and Roddy Ricch.

The rooftop performance saw performances of a number of ‘DONDA’ songs including ‘No Child Left Behind,’ ‘Hurricane,’ ‘Moon,’ and ‘Come to Life.’

You can see reaction to the moment from fans on social media here:

Kanye really got Marilyn Manson out there with Sunday Service

— Alexis Rosales (@alexisrosales95) October 31, 2021

The appearance of Manson at the Chicago ‘DONDA’ event sparked significant backlash online back in August.

Manson appeared on the stoop of a church-like structure West built in the centre of the stadium. When photos of the construction of the structure circulated online before the event, many noted its resemblance to West’s childhood home.

Manson’s ex-wife Wood also appeared to respond to the appearance on social media. A few hours after West’s album arrived, Wood shared a video of her covering The New Radicals’ ‘You Get What You Give’ at a recent show in Hollywood.

In the caption, she quoted the song’s title and added: “For my fellow survivors who got slapped in the face this week. I love you. Don’t give up.”

Meanwhile, a previously dismissed sexual assault lawsuit against Manson was re-filed in a US court last month.

Watch Wet Leg perform ‘Chaise Longue’ live on ‘Later’

Wet Leg have performed ‘Chaise Longue’ live on Later with Jools Holland – check it out below.

READ MORE: Wet Leg: “We want to be recognised as guitar heroes”

Released in June as their debut single, ‘Chaise Longue’, went viral on its release and has since been played over 3.4 million times on Spotify.

You can watch the performance on Later here:

Last week (October 27), Wet Leg were unveiled as next year’s ambassadors of Independent Venue Week.

The 2022 event, which champions the annual celebration of independent music venues, will take place across the UK from January 31 to February 6.

Speaking about the news, the group said: “We grew up in a place where we had no music venues at all and after living in Bristol and London, it’s been incredible to experience what it’s like to be a part of a scene; to feel that sense of community that you can pin point geographically to a place, to a venue, I think is quite important and quite special particularly for emerging bands and artists.

“It’s a bit of a delicate ecosystem – Music makers and lovers are supported by the venues and in turn the venues are supported by bands/artists and their fans passing through. The way I see it is this – No Independent venues = No music scene. No community. And to me, I feel that that’s something worth continuing to preserve and nurture.

“That’s why we’re super stoked and very, very proud to be ambassadors for this year’s Independent Venue Week.”

Meanwhile, Wet Leg recently announced details of a 2022 UK headline tour. They will play:

APRIL
16 – Newcastle, St Doms
17 – Edinburgh, The Mash House
19 – Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
20 – Manchester, Gorilla
21 – Bristol, Trinity Centre
23 – Birmingham, O2 Institute
24 – Norwich, Arts Centre
26 – London, Scala
27 – Portsmouth, Wedgewood Rooms

The Air Jordan 11 CMFT Low Takes A Crack At The DMP Colorway

It’s not uncommon to see Jordan Brand reusing colorways. Their most iconic combinations — be it “Bred,” “Concord,” or the like — have all returned on silhouettes not their own. And here, the “DMP” colorway is doing the same by way of the Air Jordan 11 CMFT Low.

Black leathers polish into the mudguard for an almost mirror polish, shining unlike the much rougher mesh that outfits the shoe’s topline. The lining, laces, and eyestays are similar in texture, clashing well with the aforementioned and the gilding that dresses the lateral and Jumpman branding. Finally, underfoot the blacked out midsole, the nod to the DMP pack is completed by an icy blue finish.

Enjoy a look at these below. They’re sure to appear on Nike.com and select retailers soon.

In other news, the Air Jordan 3 Pine Green is releasing this weekend.

Cardi B Joins ‘The Addams Family’ as Morticia Addams on Halloween: See Her Spooky Costume

Cardi B is getting creepy and kooky with her latest Halloween costume.

On Sunday (Oct. 31), the 29-year-old rap superstar took to social media to unveil her stunning costume, a spooky reimagining of the sultry Morticia Addams from The Addams Family.

“MORTICIA ADDAMS,” Cardi captioned the gothic-themed gallery on Instagram, tagging fashion designer Natalia Fedner for her work on the impressive black metal dress.

“The outfit is entirely metal! It’s black chain,” the designer wrote in a separate Instagram post. “The corset is used making a special resin casting process.

In one spine-chilling photo, a pale-looking Cardi clutches onto a single red rose, while another pic features the MC leaning against a black hearse.

Fedner also gave a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the costume, explaining that it took a full week to create. “The black metal dress is also made using the 6-way stretch metal technique,” she wrote, giving a shout-out to Cardi’s stylist Kollin Carter. “For Cardi, I used the ‘spiderweb’ version of this technique as directed by her stylist, to give the look an extra Halloween twist.”

Cardi’s costume wasn’t her only weekend surprise. On Saturday, the rapper teased fans with a snippet from a new song. “SURPRISE!!!!!! I’m dropping a song on Monday on SoundCloud!!!” she tweeted alongside a 20-second audio clip of the vocals. “Nothing serious just something special for BARDIGANG… Here’s a lil taste.”

Cardi was recently featured on Lizzo’s newest single “Rumors,” which hit the No. 1 and No. 4 spots on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Billboard Hot 100 charts, respectively. Cardi’s 2018 album, Invasion of Privacy, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard in 2018.

Fans Choose Myke Towers, Camila Cabello & Tainy’s ‘Oh Na Na’ as This Week’s Favorite New Music

Myke Towers, Camila Cabello and Tainy’s new collaboration “Oh Na Na” has topped this week’s new music poll.

Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Oct. 29) on Billboard, choosing new party-ready track as their favorite new music release of the past week.

“Oh Na Na,” on which the trio sounds like they’re ready to party as if summer is just about to kick off, brought in nearly 56% of the vote, beating out new music by Ed Sheeran (=), Megan Thee Stallion (Something For The Hotties), The War on Drugs (I Don’t Live Here Anymore), Lil Uzi Vert (“Demon High”), and others.

“Oh Na Na,” an effervescent, bilingual dance single, pushes Cabello to match Towers’ flow and swagger, to great success; following “Don’t Go Yet,” the pop star sounds more comfortable letting loose over Tainy’s frenetic drum assortment.

Placing second on the past week’s tally with nearly 31% of the vote was Sheeran’s fourth solo studio album, =. The new set was preceded by “Bad Habits” and “Shivers,” which have thus far peaked at No. 2 and No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively, with “Bad Habits” having remained in the top 10 since its release.

See the final results of this week’s new music release poll below.

Watch Biffy Clyro play new album in full on opening night of intimate UK tour

Biffy Clyro have played their new album in full on the opening night of their intimate UK tour – you can see footage from the gig below.

The group kicked off the tour at Liverpool University on Friday (October 29). Further dates include London, Cambridge, Sheffield and Southampton before the tour wraps up at Bristol O2 Academy on November 4.

The tour, which was set to take place in a number of venues that the group haven’t played “in over 10 years”, was first announced last year and was scheduled to kick off in April 2021 but it was then postponed until October due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When the dates were originally announced, Biffy were set to showcase songs last year’s ‘A Celebration of Endings’. But they were expected to debut tracks from follow up ‘The Myth Of The Happily Ever After’, which was released last week.

However, the group played the new album in full on opening night – see footage of the moment, images and a full set-list here:

Speaking about the new album, the band recently told NME that COVID forced them to rewrite many of the songs they already had, creating a whole new beast. “The liberation of doing anything that you had any control over last year was a thrill in itself,” said frontman Simon Neil.

“We couldn’t leave the house, we couldn’t go shopping, no one could see anyone they cared about so the only freedom we had was in these ideas and these songs.”

The album was awarded four stars by NME and was described “as a happy accident”.

It added: “What started out as leftovers from the Scottish rockers’ last record has turned out to be, ironically, perhaps their most cohesive album to date.”

You can see the full set-list from the opening night of their tour below.

Biffy Clyro – Liverpool University, October 29 Setlist
‘DumDum’
‘A Hunger in Your Haunt’

‘Denier’
‘Separate Missions’

Nike Leans More On Color With The Air Max 95 Next Nature

If you’ve kept up with recent Next Nature releases, then you’d know most are rather color-averse. Nike has preferred to keep many pairs neutral, starting the line-up off on a note of universality. But here, with their newest Air Max 95, the brand is finally beginning to loosen up.

That doesn’t mean neutrals are entirely out of the picture, however. Black, grey, and white are used heavily throughout the side layers, going from dark to light as the panels travel upwards. Only then does the hot pink come into play, cast atop not just the eyelets but the Air Units as well. What’s more, it makes a much more subtle cameo atop the insole alongside the Circular Design logo.

Enjoy a close-up look below courtesy of the official images. Sizes will hopefully appear soon on Nike.com and at select retailers.

In other news, the Air Jordan 1 Mid University Red is perfect for Christmas.

Harry Styles Channels Dorothy From ‘Wizard of Oz’ at Halloween-Themed Concert

Harry Styles took a trip down the yellow brick road ahead of Halloween this year.

During the first of his two “Harryween” concerts at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Saturday (Oct. 30), the English pop superstar dressed as Dorothy Gale from 1939’s The Wizard of Oz.

Donning a blue and white dress, ruby red slippers and a basket with a stuffed Toto, the former One Direction member pranced across the stage belting out songs from his 2019 album, Fine Line, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He also impressed the crowd with a cover of the classic film’s “Over the Rainbow.” Watch it here.

“Growing up in England, we like Halloween,” Styles told the crowd. “But we definitely didn’t get into it like you do.” He added, “I look cute!”

The “Watermelon Sugar” singer headlined MSG earlier this month as well. Since early September, Styles has been rolling through his Love On Tour, showcasing his hit sophomore album, Fine Line, on a proper North America arena run. The trek continues through November with stops in Wisconsin, Washington, Oregon and California.

Kraftwerk inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

German electro pioneers Kraftwerk have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame – you can watch the moment below.

READ MORE: Kraftwerk: Every album ranked in order of greatness

They were inducted by Pharrell who delivered a video speech presenting them with the award. This was later followed by a video tribute from artists including Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, the Human League’s Philip Oakey and Run-DMC’s Darryl McDaniels.

You can see some footage from the event here:

Pharrell Williams inducts Kraftwerk pic.twitter.com/zFfXDLHQsb

— Dr. Bryan McGeary (@BMcgeary) October 31, 2021

Inducting the group into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Pharrell said (via Rolling Stone): “The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is a very special place. But I’m going to suggest that we create a new hall within the hall, reserved for artists who actually invented their genre, because Kraftwerk belongs there. Today, electronic music is everywhere. But what Kraftwerk did was groundbreaking and revolutionary.

“And for many of us, we were influenced by Kraftwerk without even realising. Florian Schneider and Ralf Hütter created Kraftwerk in Düsseldorf, Germany, and in the early Seventies, starting making experimental music that was unlike anything the world had never heard. It was truly a seismic moment for music, as we know it.

“But when Afrika Bambaataa reached into a crate of records and found Kraftwerk and funnelled that sound into “Planet Rock,” that’s when millions of hip-hop fans around the world, including myself, heard Kraftwerk’s infectious beats and alien vocals for the very first time.

“I’m so lucky I got to meet the late Florian Schneider and let him know how much his music meant to all of us. We should all be thankful for Kraftwerk. It’s why this recognition is so important. Welcome Kraftwerk to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

Elsewhere, Barack Obama and Dave Chapelle helped induct Jay-Z into the Hall while Taylor Swift paid tribute to Carole King with a live performance of the iconic singer-songwriter’s track ‘Will You Love Me Tomorrow?’

Paul McCartney also inducted the Foo Fighters and performed The Beatles’ ‘Get Back’ with the band.

While LL Cool J marked his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last night with a medley of his songs, including a surprise appearance by Eminem for ‘Rock The Bells’.
