Generating massive sales and interest from consumers, the AF1 is simply the perfect shoe, with the only changes really needed is a simple color swap or a change in material. First seen in a Blazer Mid ’77, this “Shadow Swoosh”, which features the famed logo duplicated in two different ways, now enters the Air Force 1. Adding to this upgrade is a pearlized heel and squared tongue label, while custom graphics cover the entirety of the insoles.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Reflect on Their LA Beginnings at Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony: ‘I Know This Street Inside Out’

The legendary Los Angeles alt-rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday (March 31). The band’s on-again, off-again (and now back on again) guitarist John Frusciante reunited with lead singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith to receive the honor. Frusciante played on the band’s 12th album, Unlimited Love, which is due Friday.

Friends of the band, including Bob Forrest, George Clinton and Woody Harrelson, came to the ceremony and gave speeches.

“I hope that I had a little bit to do with their career, but they had it made no matter what anybody said,” said Clinton, who produced the band’s second record, Freaky Styley, and went on to develop a close bond with the band. “They were on their way to be the stars that they are today. They walked these streets so much, their footprints should already be in the sidewalk.”

The band members each had their own L.A. memory to share, starting with Flea. “When I was 11 years old, I panhandled on this street,” he recalled. “I know this street inside out. The street knows me. Whenever we traveled around the world, the street has always been a part of me.”

“We started out playing dive bars up and down the street and making a handful of people dance and come to life,” Kiedis said. “But as time went on, we stuck together as a team and as a band and now we can make everybody dance and feel joy, and we’ve been connected to this life and this experience.”

The Chili Peppers’ star is the 2,717th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In February, the band released “Black Summer,” their first song to feature Frusciante in 16 years, as the lead single from their upcoming album Unlimited Love, which is produced by Rick Rubin.

What’s Your Favorite Latin Collaboration of March 2022? Vote!

The year is flying by, with April just a few hours away, and in true Billboard fashion, we’re asking readers to vote for their favorite Latin collaboration of the month.

In March, we saw how Ana Barbara brought to life her collab with Cristian Castro, which was eight years in the making. Miky Woodz came strong with his hard-hitting reggaeton alongside Nio Garcia and Jay Wheeler. Maria Becerra flaunted her bachata side by joining Prince Royce on his track. And J Balvin teamed up with Ed Sheeran for not one, but two collaborations.

On that note, Sebastian Yatra reeled in John Legend for a feel-good bilingual remix of his “Tacones Rojos.”

Last month, our readers crowned Becky G and Karol G with their sin-pelos-en-la-lengua banger “Mamiii,” nabbing more than 50 percent of the votes. At a close second with nearly 40 percent of the votes were new lovebirds Duki and Emilia Mernes with “Esto Recien Empieza.”

What’s the best Latin collab of March? Below, check out 10 tracks that were featured on Billboard in the past 31 days and vote!

The 2021 winners for favorite Latin collaborations were Maria Becerra and Cazzu’s “Animal” (January 2021), VF7 and Lunay’s “Codigo Secreto” (February 2021), Danny Ocean and Justin Quiles’ “Cuantas Veces” (March 2021), Sebastian Yatra and Myke Towers’ “Pareja del Año” (April 2021), J Balvin and Maria Becerra’s “Que Mas Pues” (May 2021), Nobeat and Khea’s “Medio Crazy” (June 2021), Enrique Iglesias and Farruko’s “Me Pasé” (July 2021), Sebastian Yatra and Jhay Cortez’s “Delincuente” (August 2021), Sofia Reyes and Becky G’s “Mal de Amores” (September 2021), Anitta and Saweetie’s “Faking Love” (October 2021). (Editor’s note: There were no polls for November and December 2021.)

Phoebe Bridgers Must Face Deposition in Libel Lawsuit, Judge Rules

A Los Angeles judge ruled this week that Phoebe Bridgers must sit for a deposition in a defamation lawsuit filed against her by producer Chris Nelson, rejecting her claim that it was nothing more than “thinly veiled harassment.”

In a ruling issued Tuesday, Judge Curtis A. Kin agreed with Nelson’s argument that a deposition was necessary before the judge decides whether to dismiss his lawsuit, which claims Bridgers defamed him by echoing accusations of abuse made against him by another woman.

The judge said the case would live or die on whether Bridgers acted with “actual malice” – meaning she either lied intentionally or recklessly disregarded the truth when she made he claims about Nelson. And that question can likely only be answered by Bridgers, the judge said.

“Because the subjective belief of [Bridgers] is critical, defendant herself is necessarily the primary, if not sole, source of evidence regarding actual malice,” Judge Kin wrote.

Nelson sued Bridgers in September in Los Angeles court, claiming she had defamed him by posting false information to social media as part of a “vendetta to destroy plaintiff’s reputation.”

He pointed to a series of October 2020 Instagram posts, in which the singer she had “witnessed and can personally verify much of the abuse (grooming, stealing, violence) perpetuated by Chris Nelson.” She also directed her followers to a separate thread from friend Emily Bannon, which contained more extensive allegations against Nelson.

Bridgers quickly moved to end the case, arguing that Nelson was using his lawsuit to silence her claims of abuse. Faced with that motion, Nelson demanded the right to depose her — saying it was the only way he could prove that his allegation was valid. He said denying him that chance would violate his right to due process.

Attorneys for Bridgers fired back earlier this month, claiming his request was merely designed to burden the star and delay the proceedings. “Mr. Nelson’s amorphous request for discovery based on his attorney’s circular statement that it is necessary is nothing more than thinly veiled harassment,” her lawyers wrote.

On Tuesday, Judge Kin avoided those allegations and merely ruled that “good cause” exists for a deposition in such circumstance because a libel defendant is the “primary source of evidence regarding actual malice.” He ordered that the deposition must take place before April 29.

Attorneys for both sides did not immediately return requests for comment on Thursday (March 31).

Harry Styles Unveils ‘As It Was’: Listen

Harry Styles‘ new album era has officially begun. The singer launched the journey to his upcoming third album, Harry’s House, on Thursday (March 31) with the first single.

The video for the guitar-driven “As It Was” finds Styles on a turning platform alongside a past lover, unable to catch her for long, before he breaks into dance across a city, letting go of his negative feelings. “In this world / It’s just us / You know it’s not the same as it was,” Styles sings in the contemplative chorus.

Styles announced the single — his first since 2019 — on Monday, just a few days after he gave word that his third studio album Harry’s House is on its way. The May 20-slated album will have 13 tracks, more than either of his past two full-length projects.

Before Harry’s House is available for fans to enjoy, Styles will be heading to Indio, Calif., to perform at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival alongside fellow headliners Billie Eilish and Kanye West. The festival takes over Empire Polo Club from April 15 to 17 and then again from April 22 to 24.

After two years of hibernation, basketball’s fiercest existing rivalry finally returns to the big—however still empty—stage. Remy Ma on Doja Cat’s music: “I Don’t Think She’s a Rapper”

Remy Ma has shared that she doesn’t consider Doja Cat to be a rapper.

She also said that she doesn’t agree with the genre-bending artist – who has been nominated for eight Grammys at this year’s ceremony – receiving nods in the rap category.

“I don’t think she’s a rapper. Let’s be clear with that,” Remy Ma told N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on the Drink Champs podcast. “They put her in the rapper category, I don’t think she’s a rapper. But she makes dope records, and I think she’s dope.”

Meanwhile, Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Dlamini, has recently reiterated her plans to quit music. This comes after she originally told fans she was done with her career, before retracting those statements.

The rapper and pop star is currently on tour in South America, and was scheduled to play at the Asunciónico festival in Paraguay last Tuesday (March 22).

After the festival’s opening day, which was set to feature Doja Cat, was cancelled due to high winds and weather warnings, fans online expressed their disappointment at the star not meeting them outside her hotel.

In response to that, the musician tweeted: “it’s gone and i don’t give a fuck anymore,” she replied. “i fuckin quit i can’t wait to fucking disappear and i don’t need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me, music is dead, and i’m a fucking fool for ever thinking i was made for this this is a fucking nightmare unfollow me.”

Then on March 28, the rapper responded to Florida radio station MIX 105.1, who wrote “Ok so maybe @DojaCat isn’t retiring,” alongside an article about her apology.

In response to the tweet, Doja replied: “Yes the fuck I am.”

Elsewhere, Doja Cat brought her set at Lollapalooza Argentina to a standstill last weekend (March 19), after being alerted to an audience member requiring medical attention.

The American singer and rapper was performing her song ‘Options’ when she called for the track to be cut midway through, Billboard reports. Addressing the crowd, she asked if “somebody needs help out there”, to which a section of the crowd waved and pointed.

“We can’t have that,” the singer said, before communicating with security and stage management to take care of the fan. “I can’t keep going if things aren’t good.”

Pusha T and Nigo share ‘Hear Me Clearly’ video

Pusha T and Nigo have shared a video for their new collaboration, ‘Hear Me Clearly’ – you can watch it below.

READ MORE: Pusha T live: a ferocious but swift introduction to “the ‘Daytona’ experience”

Produced by BoogzDaBeast, Luca Starz, ThaMyind, and Kanye West, it’s the latest track from DJ and Bape founder Nigo’s new album, ‘I Know Nigo’, to get a video release. It follows the ‘Ayra’‘Want It Bad’, ‘Heavy’, and ‘Come On, Let’s Go’.

Nigo first announced the forthcoming album back in December, revealing that the project was on the way and that he’d signed to Steven Victor’s Victor Victor Worldwide label, a joint venture between Victor and Universal Music Group.

Guest appearances on the LP include Pharrell, Kid Cudi, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, Pusha T, Tyler, The Creator, Fam-Lay and Teriyaki Boyz, with more to be announced.

You can watch the video for ‘Hear Me Clearly’ below:

Outside of his work as the head of the streetwear brand A Bating Ape, Nigo has long had an interest and association with the world of music. He is the DJ for hip hop collective Teriyaki Boyz, who released debut album ‘Beef or Chicken’ in 2005 and follow-up ‘Serious Japanese’ in 2009.

Numerous artists that feature on Nigo’s album have appeared on previous Teriyaki Boyz cuts – Williams on ‘Cho L A R G E’ and ‘Work That!’, Pusha T and Fam-Lay on a remix of ‘Tokyo Drift (Fast & Furious)’.

Elsewhere, Pusha T has dropped a new song that takes aim at McDonald’s, nearly two decades after the rapper allegedly came up with Mickey D’s ‘I’m Lovin It’ jingle.

Arriving as part of a partnership with rival fast food chain Arby’s, ‘Spicy Fish Diss Track’ sees Push zero in on the Filet-o-Fish burger.

How dare you sell a square fish asking us to trust it?/ A half slice of cheese, Mickey D’s on a budget?” he raps over an industrial-tinged beat. A few bars later comes: “Say less, this argument is baseless/ Drowned in tartar, that Filet-o-Fish is tasteless.

Last month, Pusha shared the Kanye West-produced ‘Diet Coke’, which is set to feature on the rapper’s fourth solo album when it arrives later this year.

Easter Pastels Accents The Jordan Legacy 312 Low

The Jordan Legacy 312 Low may not be the most sought-out proposition from Michael Jordan’s eponymous brand, but it’s been playing a role in carrying on #23’s legacy well into 2022.

Recently, the Don C-assisted design emerged in a kid’s-exclusive colorway replete with easter-friendly tones. Inspired by the first three Air Jordan sneakers to release, the silhouette proudly dons cues pivotal to the Jumpman’s footwear roster, though the latest offering indulges in non-original purple, mint and other hues. Elephant print introduced by Tinker Hatfield on the Air Jordan 3 opts for light blue flair, abandoning classic greyscale flavor. Underfoot, sole units round out the pastel-clad upper in darker colors.

Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.

The Nike Kyrie Infinity Gets Groovy With Tie-Dye

Is this upcoming Nike Kyrie Infinity a subtle dig to the cross-town New York Knicks? Kyrie Irving’s tenure in the Big Apple has been inconsistent due to injuries and his personal choice to not receive the COVID-19 vaccination, and Knicks fans have yet to let an opportunity go by when it comes throwing shade at the Brooklyn star. It’s all in jest, of course, but it’s hard not to see this upcoming release as a thorn to the Knickerbocker faithful.

in fact, the blue and orange is merely a base as a vibrant and colorful tie-dye pattern adorns not just the tongue, but the heel portion of the design. The choice of blue and orange as the primary base seems a bit random as Nike could’ve gone  a completely different route, but we digress.

As of now, this colorful Kyrie Infinity is set to arrive on Nike.com in full kids sizes; see the official images ahead and stay tuned.
