KISS announce 2022 edition of ‘Kiss Kruise’

KISS have shared details of the 2022 edition of their ‘Kiss Kruise’ tour.

READ MORE: From the archives – KISS’ Gene Simmons: Does Rock’n’Roll Kill Brain Cells?

The veteran rock band are currently on the 10th edition, which sees them perform to fans aboard a cruise ship’s pool deck over a few days. Next year’s mission from Los Angeles to the Mexican city of Cabo San Lucas will take place from October 29 to November 3 [via Blabbermouth].

Gene Simmons, bassist and co-lead vocalist with KISS, told The New York Post last month that fans needed to be vaccinated against COVID in order to attend this year’s event.

The news follows KISS cancelling their Las Vegas residency, which they were due to begin next month.

KISS were set to take to the stage at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino from December 27 until February 2022. It would follow a previous run at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in 2014.

Now, it appears that the run will no longer take place, with ticket links from Caesars Entertainment and Ticketmaster looking to be no longer active. Fans who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster have been notified that the shows are cancelled.

A spokesperson for the Zappos Theater told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that that “soft ticket sales” are reportedly to blame, and ticketholders will be notified of how to receive a refund by their ticket provider. KISS are yet to make an official statement on the matter.

Meanwhile, last month Simmons managed to avoid a fall on stage after a descending platform malfunctioned at the start of the band’s show in Tampa, Florida.

Deluxe version of Kanye West’s ‘DONDA’ reportedly teased on Apple Music

Kanye West fans spotted a new message seemingly posted on some European versions of the ‘DONDA‘ Apple Music page that appeared to point to an incoming deluxe album.

READ MORE: Kanye West – ‘DONDA’ review: some gems among lots – and lots – of filler

Eagle-eyed fans reportedly noticed over the weekend that the streaming service’s Italy and Germany pages for ‘DONDA’ read, “A deluxe version of Yeezus’ tenth recording miracle” and, “Ye expands his epic artwork with new songs” respectively.

However, when accessed today (November 1), the descriptions appear to have returned to the notes that are standardised across the ‘DONDA’ pages worldwide – with no mention of a deluxe version of the album.

NME has reached out to Apple Music and West’s representatives for comment.

“Ye expands his epic artwork with new songs.”

Apple Music has been updated for Kanye West in multiple countries including a description of ‘new songs’ and a ‘deluxe version’ of DONDA. Some users are reporting three versions on streaming services.

Friday is the typical album release day of the week.

If a deluxe version did materialise, it could see Ye expand on his already mammoth 10th studio effort, which runs at 27 tracks and clocks in just shy of an hour and 50 minutes.

Elsewhere, yesterday (October31) West announced a last-minute Halloween Sunday Service livestream.

The rapper, who is now legally known as Ye, sparked controversy because the event featured Marilyn Manson who has been accused of sexual assault, misconduct and abuse by multiple women in the past year, including his former partner Evan Rachel Wood. Manson has denied the allegations, calling them “horrible distortions of reality”.

West also brought out the musician at a listening party for new album ‘DONDA’ at Soldier Field in Chicago in August. When the album in question finally dropped, Manson was credited as a co-writer on the songs ‘Jail’ and ‘Jail Pt. 2’.

Appearing alongside the pair at yesterday’s Sunday Service was Justin Bieber and Roddy Ricch.

The rooftop performance saw performances of a number of ‘DONDA’ songs including ‘No Child Left Behind,’ ‘Hurricane,’ ‘Moon,’ and ‘Come to Life.’

Jeon Somi says she “poured everything” into debut studio album ‘XOXO’

South Korean singer Jeon Somi has opened up about the release of her the long-awaited debut studio album ‘XOXO’.

READ MORE: Somi’s latest single ‘Dumb Dumb’ is a frustrating comeback that lacks originality and spark

Last Friday (October 29), the singer dropped her first-ever full-length record ‘XOXO’ alongside a music video for the lead single of the same title. In an online press conference on the same day, Somi discussed what it felt like to finally drop a full-length album two years into her solo career.

“The fact that it’s my first full album is very meaningful. I worked really hard to prepare,” the K-pop idol told Hankook Ilbo, as translated by Soompi. “I poured everything I had into preparing for this album, so I could feel comfortable and relaxed. Rather than specific results I want to achieve, I’m relieved to think that my fans can hear these songs.”

Jeon also added that she now felt that she could have “more fun” on stage and during live performances following the release of ‘XOXO’. “I think that because I’ve emptied my mind, I can be more relaxed,” she explained.

Later, the singer discussed the important experiences that have shaped how she views her career. “I learned that you can’t depend too much on people or feel a sense of pressure,” shared Somi. “If you let it go a little, results will come, and people will acknowledge you.”

Elsewhere during the press conference, she also spoke about the success of her previous single ‘Dumb Dumb’, which had dropped in August. “I don’t think that I thought of it as pressure,” said the idol, adding that the popularity of ‘Dumb Dumb’ had allowed her to gain confidence.

In a two-star review of ‘Dumb Dumb’NME’s Rhian Daly described the single as a “frustrating comeback that lacks originality and spark”. She went on to note that “Somi is known for her bright personality and she could easily light up a mediocre song, but even she struggles to elevate this to anything beyond dull.”

Watch Mark Hoppus perform Blink-182 songs for first time since becoming cancer-free

Mark Hoppus has taken to the stage to perform live for the first time since announcing that he’s cancer-free.

READ MORE: NSFW! Blink-182’s rudest ever lyrics

The Blink-182 bassist/vocalist joined bandmate Travis Barker and musician Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft for Barker’s ‘House of Horrors’ pay-per-view broadcast this past weekend. Dressed in Batman-themed attired, the trio played Blink songs ‘What’s My Age Again?’, ‘The Rock Show’ and ‘Family Reunion’.

Hoppus revealed earlier this year that he’d received good news about his health after visiting his oncologist. He confirmed in July that he’d been diagnosed with 4-A diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, subsequently telling fans that “chemo [was] working”.

“Just saw my oncologist and I’m cancer free!!” Hoppus then wrote online in September. “Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love.”

He continued: “[I] still have to get scanned every six months and it’ll take me until the end of the year to get back to normal but today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed. Can I get a W in the chat?”

Former Blink-182 bandmate Tom DeLonge, who fronts Angels And Airwaves, said recently that he and Hoppus have been able to mend their friendship since he learned of his cancer.

The NoCap-produced ‘House of Horrors’ was available to stream until just before midnight on Sunday (October 31). It was opened by Jasiah, jxdn and Iann Dior and co-headlined by Avril Lavigne and Machine Gun Kelly. Barker drummed throughout the show, including performing ‘imu’ with Blackbear with a Squid Game-style theme.

According to Billboard, the show was filmed days earlier at a reimagined haunted house outside of Los Angeles with a guest list including Kourtney Kardashian, Gabrielle Sidibe, Siickbrain, Mod Sun, Phem, Royal and The Serpent and Theotis Beasley.

Elsewhere, Barker has teamed up with Grandson and Kesha for a new single ‘Drop Dead’.
