With the Memorial Day weekend unofficially signaling the start of the summer season, it may be time to set aside the leather and suede sneakers in favor of foam-molded sandals. After all, why wouldn’t you spend as much time out in the warmth of the sun?
Together with Matthew M. Williams, founder of ALYX Studio and current creative director for Givenchy, Nike has delivered the 005 Slide, a close-toed yet well-ventilated slip-on sandal/mule hybrid unlike anything the brand has purveyed before. Debuting in 2022 in simple black and white options, the MMW x Nike 005 Slide is now arriving in a punchy volt and multi-colored “Dark Khaki” iteration that seems to rival the “MX” options put forth by the Yeezy Foam Runner.
