Westside Gunn Discusses Working With RZA & Swizz Beatz

Following the release of the final installment in his Hilter Wears Hermes series, Westside Gunn spoke about getting to work with RZA and Swizz Beatz. The Buffalo rapper discussed how the collaborations came together during an interview with Fader published on Wednesday.

“It’s been a dream of mine since day one to be on the RZA beat,” Gunn revealed to the outlet. “And to have that sound — this is what I’m begging him for, like ‘Bro, I need this.’ I got it [and] I’m thankful. It’s not the end of me and RZA. We have more.”

As for working with Swizz Beatz, Gunn said: “Swizz is fam. That’s my guy. He’s kicked a lot of knowledge to me. Me and him done talked and hung out for hours. People like Swizz, I always wanna impress, because he a OG. He’s big into art like I’m big into art. We connect on a whole other level.”

Other noteworthy names to receive credits on the 10 include A$AP Rocky, Run The Jewels, Black Star, Ghostface, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, DJ Drama, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, and more.

Gunn also discussed ideas he’s got in store for forthcoming Griselda collaborations: “Stove God Cooks is a mastermind, a punchline king, a coke rap giant. We was talking last night: As soon as he came in from the airport, I said, ‘You know we gotta start working on your album, right?’ Me and Boldy [James] already talking. Me and Jay Worthy already talking. And YN Billy — I done had YN Billy since he was 18. He’s 22 now, and he’s ready. He’s coming out with a Gangsta Grillz [mixtape] with Drama.”

“It’s probably gonna be YN Billy, then Boldy or Stove or Jay Worthy,” he added. “But we never stop working. Rome [Streetz] got a project already with Conductor [Williams]. That’s another exclusive nobody knows about. That’s both family, that’s both Griselda, and like I said, we don’t stop.”

10 was released late last month, ahead of Gunn’s other upcoming project, Michelle Records. Speaking about the record with Fader, Gunn described it as having a “totally different vibe” from 10, adding that it’s “pretty much halfway done.”

As you will see in these official images, the shoe is an homage to Fruity Pebbles cereal. LeBron has already done this aesthetic before, so it’s great to see him doing it all over again. LeBron is at his best when he is coming through with colorful offerings, and this is an example of that.

In the official images below, you can see how the shoe begins with a white leather base. The toe box is white, and the side panels are as well. From there, we have a red leather overlay, with some blue on the Nike swoosh and back heel. From there, yellow is placed on the cuff and the back heel.

Brittney Griner’s Wife Cherelle Speaks On Russia’s Decision To Deny WNBA Star’s Appeal

American women’s basketball player Brittney Griner will not be coming home sooner than hoped after a Russian court upheld its initial August 4th ruling. Griner, who was convicted of bringing hashish oil into Russia, was convicted and sentenced in May, but an appeal was submitted in the hopes that her sentence would be reduced or thrown out. However, her appeal was denied and she will begin serving her full nine-year sentence immediately.

Griner has had a strong supporter in her wife, Cherelle Griner, who has been in touch with not only Brittney but the Biden Administration during the court proceedings. In a recent interview with ABC’s The View, Cherelle spoke out about the ruling and stated, “I understand being in the field of law that every state, every country has their own rules, but this is just absurd.”

Cherelle continued: “This could happen to anybody and we should be praying that we have a country that recognizes the importance of that and are willing to actually go get our Americans and bring them back home.”

Griner, who played for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, was detained at a Russian airport in February 2022. It was discovered she had vape cartridges and cannabis oils in her luggage, which is illegal in the country. A week later, Russia invaded Ukraine, and many believe due to America’s support of the latter, Griner’s detainment and harsh sentence were due to political motivation.

Cherelle Griner has spoken at length about the trial, often keeping the public up to date daily about her wife’s mental and emotional well-being. In her interview with The View, Cherelle also stated the motion of denying her wife’s appeal left her in complete disbelief.

Cherelle Griner is in the fight of her life to bring home her wife, Brittney Griner, who’s been sentenced to nine years in prison.

She fears the worst: “I don’t know if she has anything left in her tank to continue to wake up every day and be in a place where she has no one.” pic.twitter.com/WR4fm5RRUt

She added that there are people in Russia who have been convicted of murder whose “sentence was way less than B.G.”

“Ocean Bliss” Takes Over This Nike Air Max 90

Having recently appeared on the Nike Air Huarache, “Ocean Bliss” is set to take over the Air Max 90.

Akin to the newer silhouette also designed by Tinker Hatfield, the 32-year-old model indulges in a tonal arrangement across its upper. Laces and collar lining interrupt the otherwise uniform top-half, with branding at the spine also deviating from its light blue surroundings. Although the Swoosh hasn’t revealed the inspiration behind the “Ocean Blue” collection, the pairs seen thus far could nod to the ice associated with winter. Regardless, sole units underfoot boast a relatively simple color combination, with the Air Max bubble featuring the titular blue tone.

Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.

In related sneaker news, the Air Jordan 1 “Lost and Found” will release for the whole family on November 19th.

CLOT And Converse Celebrate Peace And Friendship With “Panda Pack”

Edison Chen and his CLOT imprint may not be best known for their work with Converse, but the Hong Kong-based creatives have recently unveiled two takes on classic One Star Brand designs. The inspiration?: Giant pandas.

As the official animal of China, the giant panda is a source of national pride to the Far East Asian powerhouse. The Chuck 70 Hi and Jack Purcell Ox prepped for the upcoming drop serve as a follow-up to the polar bear-inspired “Ice Cold Pack” from 2019 between CLOT and Converse. Each silhouette is reimagined with a mix of materials clad in a theme-appropriate white and black color combination.

“The giant panda is something that we relate to, obviously because of our Chinese heritage and culture,” said Chen in an official press release for the collaboration. “Being able to do something to give love and gain awareness for Panda in response to WWF’s International Panda Day in China is very important and a part of the new CLOT aesthetic, which is loving and trying to preserve the earth so that the future can enjoy its beauty.”

Hair-on-hide leather and faux fur are outfitted in pure white, with the All-Star patch and terry cloth tongue on the Converse Chuck 70 delivering contrast in their black makeup. The low-top Jack Purcell Ox favors the “colorless” look across more of its upper and sole unit, with the foxing’s trim enabling a two-tone arrangement. Both options feature a panda-inspired paw print on the outsole, rounding out the love letter to China’s national treasure.

The CLOT’s “Panda Pack” with Converse is scheduled to launch at Juice stores worldwide on Friday, November 11th. The Chuck 70 is priced at $130 USD, whereas the Jack Purcell Ox will retail for $120 USD.
