The trial surrounding the men accused of murdering XXXTENTACION began this month. However, a defense attorney for one of the defendants has desperately tried to get a deposition out of Drake. The feud between the two rappers became a main force in the defense’s argument during the beginning stages of the trial. The defense, Mauricio Padilla, argued that the Canadian rapper had a hand in the Broward County rapper’s death. His attorney has fought the motion, leading to a back-and-forth in court. And while Padilla feels as though this is helping his client’s case, most feel as though it’s an outrageous strategy.

Most recently, reports emerged of Drake’s security guards blocking a subpoena. Padilla filed a motion detailing the encounter with his armed guards on Valentine’s Day at his California residence. “After having the gate shut in his face, the process server posted the subpoena, only to have one of Mr. Graham’s security staff literally kick the subpoena down the lone driveway… Security is heard saying that ‘no one is being served here,” the motion read. “Apparently, Drake’s staff believe that physically kicking the subpoena is a legally sound way of refusing service.”

In the transcripts obtained by Cathy Russon of Law & Crime Network, the security shut down the process servers attempt to hand over the subpoena. “We are not obligated to do anything or accept any, please get off of property,” the security told the server, who then asked him for his name. After refusing to identify himself, the server stated that its only for a “virtual deposition.” “It is not even like a lawsuit bro,” the server said.

Eventually, the two servers said that were going to “drop it.” However, security said they couldn’t accept legal paperwork. “I am not authorized to accept anything,” the security added. At that point, process server #2 pushed security further to accept the documents. “Aubrey AKA Drake, you are being served,” the process server said before the second one added, “By the way, I like Drake. SZA has proven once again her aptitude for making history. For the ninth non-consecutive week, the 33-year-old singer has earned Billboard‘s No. 1 spot for her sophomore release, SOS. According to the outlet, the project has earned 93,000 equivalent album units. SZA now joins Adele and Taylor Swift as female artists who’ve charted No. 1 for nine weeks. The English songstress earned the top spot with her album 23 for ten weeks, whereas the country-turned-pop star previously held the spot for nine weeks with 1989.

In a conversation with the New York Times, SZA reflected on her approach to SOS. “I didn’t even know how to make [the album] cause I didn’t have a purpose,” she dished. The TDE star also explained how Ctrl had been a way to prove her ability to create an album. But now, SZA says, “I did everything I wanted to do.” Regardless, her latest effort has been met with high acclamations from fans, with tracks like “Snooze,” “Nobody Gets Me,” “Low,” and “Shirt” listed as her most popular tracks according to Spotify. “Kill Bill” has also rightfully been receiving attention, charting at No. 2 following every week since its drop.

SZA’s “SOS” Charts No. 1 For The Ninth Week

The highly anticipated album was released last December. It marked SZA’s first full project since her 2017 debut studio effort, Ctrl. Since then, the Missouri-born singer has released various singles and collaborations. She recently dropped Grammy award-nominated “Good Days” and “Hit Different” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. While SZA received primarily positive feedback from SOS, she was criticized for making “sad girl music.” The lyricist addressed these accusations in her NYT interview, explaining that “sad-girl energy has always been my energy. It’s never been, like, bitch-girl energy.” 

Even with haters finding a way to nitpick SOS, the work as a whole is an incredible display of SZA’s refined taste in modern R&B. Her melodic additions to soft beats infuse magically to inflict emotional insights. Needless to say, SOS proudly inhibits “sad girl energy,” creating the perfect soundtrack for comforting a heartbreak. Trivium‘s frontman Matt Heafy has been teasing a collaboration with Sophie Lloyd, Machine Gun Kelly‘s touring guitarist.

Heafy is set to appear on Lloyd’s upcoming single ‘Fall Of Man’, which will be released on Friday (February 24).

Heafy shared a teaser of the track to Instagram. In the caption, he wrote: “Sophie Lloyd is an immensely talented force of a musician and songwriter. I recall first seeing Sophie’s guitar playing online and being truly blown away – so having been a fan of Sophie’s for several years, I was honored when asked to guest on an upcoming track.

“When I learned too that Trivium had been a longtime favorite band of Sophie’s – I was humbled and appreciative. With Sophie now fronting both the solo project and being lead guitarist for MGK – there’s no question Sophie Lloyd is taking over. I can’t wait for the world to hear this single.”

The music video is set to drop a week after the single, on March 3.

The single is expected to be taken from Lloyd’s debut album ‘Impostor Syndrome’, which will be out sometime this year. Speaking to NME about the album, Lloyd said: “The whole record is inspired by Slash’s self-titled solo album, where he collaborated with different people from different spheres of music. I’ve worked with a bunch of different artists for my record as well.”

She continued: “The album touches on a lot of different genres, but all within the rock sphere. There’s a high-energy pop-punk song, some heavy metal tracks and some country rock. It doesn’t all fit into one box, which I’m excited about. It’s all the music I listened to growing up. I feel like this album was very much written for my 15-year-old self, who would just be in her bedroom, listening to music.”

Lloyd’s management recently had to deny rumours that the guitarist had an affair with Kelly, following speculation that he had broken up with his fiancée Megan Fox.

“Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off of meritless accusations made by social media,” they said in a statement. “Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue. It’s disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to be reporting anything else.”

Tiësto has released a remix of The White Lotus season two theme song – listen to it below.

The main title theme from the second season of the hit HBO show, ‘Renaissance’, was created by Emmy-award winning composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer who also did the season one variation ‘Aloha!’.

“As a huge fan of The White Lotus I couldn’t be more excited to be releasing the official remix,” Tiësto said in a statement.

“I was instantly hooked on the theme song so I had to put my spin on it for my live sets… every time I play it, the crowd goes crazy! I’m thrilled HBO wanted to partner and make it official.”

The official release arrives after the season two theme song became a surprise festival anthem.

As the song finishes with an electronic breakdown, the track has appealed to crowds at festivals and beyond. The theme also been been remixed and played at concerts by The Killers and Dominic Fike.

Tiësto also explained how the song always receives a positive response from a live crowd. “Fans absolutely love it,” the DJ told CNN.

“Every time it plays in my set you can feel the energy shift on the dance floor and everyone just goes wild. The feeling is electric. I knew the first time I played it we were onto something special!”

The White Lotus season two – set in Italy after season one’s Hawaii getaway – received five stars from NME, described as “utterly addictive” TV.

“Over the subsequent six episodes, it’s going to be so much fun finding out which of these guests are really awful, which are only moderately awful, and which are awful but sort of worth rooting for.”

The show was a critical and commercial hit, earning Jennifer Coolidge a standing ovation at the Golden Globes 2023 last month for Best Supporting Actress – Television Limited Series/Motion Picture.

She praised the show’s creator, Mike White, sharing that he’d given her “hope”, adding: “You’ve given me a new beginning – even if this is the end.”

“You changed my life in a million different ways. My neighbours are speaking to me, things like that. I was never invited to one party on my hill and now everyone’s inviting me.”

Meanwhile, fans have already begun to speculate where The White Lotus season three might be, with White raising Asia as a possible destination. Indeed, Johnny Knoxville seemingly let slip last week that the forthcoming season may be set in Tokyo, Japan.
