Jason Aldean notches his 25th leader on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart with “Trouble With a Heartbreak,” up 15% to 24.9 million audience impressions, according to Luminate, as it crowns the May 28-dated tally.
The song — which Kurt Allison, Brett Beavers, Tully Kennedy and John Morgan wrote — is from Aldean’s double album Macon, Georgia, which was released in two 15-song halves; Macon arrived at its No. 3 high on Top Country Albums last November and Georgia started at No. 2 earlier this May. “Trouble” is from Georgia.
Aldean adds his fourth Country Airplay leader in succession, following “If I Didn’t Love You,” with Carrie Underwood (No. 1 for three frames starting last October), “Blame It on You” (one week, last July) and “Got What I Got” (one, October 2020).
Aldean, who first topped Country Airplay with his sophomore entry, “Why,” in May 2006, boasts the seventh-most No. 1s dating to the chart’s January 1990 inception. Kenny Chesney leads with 32, followed by Tim McGraw (29), Blake Shelton (28), Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson and George Strait (26 each).
‘7500’ = 59th Top 10
Tim McGraw posts his 59th Country Airplay top 10 as “7500 OBO” revs 11-10 (15 million, up 7%). It’s his first top 10 since “I Called Mama,” which reached No. 2 in October 2020. The artist’s run of top 10 hits started with 1994’s No. 8 peaking “Indian Outlaw.”
McGraw’s sum of Country Airplay top 10s, which includes 29 No. 1s, marks the third-best after George Strait (61) and Kenny Chesney (60).
