Hot off their Zen take on the Nike Air Foamposite One, COMME des GARÇONS is presenting yet another series of Black Market goods, this time offering the capsule through a more accessible channel. And among their blacked out collaborations is a customized Vans Old Skool, which — though simple in design — have very quickly sold out.
Prior to CdG’s tweaks, the shoe was likely a GR, its foundation not at all unlike what exists on the shelves. Black is tripled up across leather, canvas, and rubber, creating a through line across all of the available pieces. And in further service of this connection, the heel is plastered with the collection’s insignia, accompanied by equally emboldened “COMME des GARÇONS” text. The only unique addition would by the sizable grommet embedded into the upper’s profile.
