If you love the Air Jordan 1, then you have more than just good taste. Overall, you have a depleted wallet due to the sheer amount of colorways that this sneaker receives. Moreover, you have probably seen a ton of variations of this shoe. In recent history, one of the more popular variations is the “High ’85.” This is a model that pays homage to the original silhouette of the Jordan 1. It contains a boxier cut, especially around the back heel and cuff. However, fans certainly love this blast from the past.

The vast majority of High ’85 colorways have been retros. There were a ton of unique color schemes from the 80s, and fans want them back. For instance, there was an entire “Metallic” series that offered some unique looks. Typically, there was even some patent leather mixed in for good measure. That said, Jordan Brand is looking to bring some of that magic back to the market. Recently, we even got a look at the new Air Jordan 1 “Metallic Burgundy.”

This new photoshop rendering comes to us from the good folks over at sneakerfiles.com and @zsneakerheadz. Firstly, you can see that the shoe starts off by being covered in some regular white leather. Secondly, the cuff of the sneaker and the Nike swoosh get some nice burgundy patent leather. These are some very clean design choices that help this shoe stick out. While some may find these basic, others are going to be absolutely enamored by them. At the end of the day, a white base always seems to work out well.

Unfortunately, it seems like the release date for this shoe is actually quite a long way away. For now, it is believed that this will drop in the Spring of 2024. Over the weekend, Georgia rapper 2 Chainz shared his feelings on organic vegan weed in an episode of GQ‘s Most Expensivest. The series, hosted by the rapper, showcases him trying high-priced items and discussing them on the show. This episode was centered on organic weed. The rapper was also joined by comedian Sarah Silverman, and the two talked with cannabis cultivator Kyle Kushman. As they dsicuss the weed with Kushman, which he calls “Veganic,” he shares with 2 Chainz that it costs “pretty damn near a $1,000 an ounce.” 2 Chainz promptly shouted “What?!?” He went on to say, “Hell naw!” Asking, “A $1,000 for a zip? $1,000 for 28 grams?” “That s**t, sometimes when you make it that expensive, it make people want it, you know what I’m saying?” the rapper adds.

Kushman then revealed that he sold so much vegan weed that he didn’t leave his home for five years. He said, “People would come to my house and just bring me money.” The rapper responded to the entrepreneur with, “That’s trappin’! That’s trappin’! That’s trappin’, man!”

2 Chainz’s Son Says It Costs $50K to Book Him

In other news, the rapper’s son Halo also recently shared on the pair’s podcast Me and Halo that it costs a pretty penny for him to make an appearance. In the episode, he asks the 6-year-old how much he charges to be booked. Halo then responds to his father with, “Somebody wanna book me, I’m talking at least like $50,000.” He responds to his son’s answer, asking “50 grand? $50k?” He went on to say, “$50k to book Halo, man.” The child then said, “If not, at least $500.” The rapper laughs as his son later specifies, “If you got a lot of money, ten hundred or $500.” The boy doubled down with, “If you’re really really rich, I’m talking $50k.”

Last week, the rapper also shared another cute moment with his son on his Instagram. In the post, screenshots of text messages between the father and son show the boy responding to a photo of his dad, telling him he needs to “do some push-ups.” Halo is one of 2 Chainz’s three children he has with businesswoman Kesha Ward.

The Arcadia line-up at this year’s Glastonbury festival has been announced, featuring performances from The Chemical Brothers, Skepta and more.

The Spider will be returning to the Arcadia area for this year’s edition of the festival, which will feature a range of electronic music heavyweights.

Announced earlier today (May 12), this year’s line-up includes acts such as Floating Points, Daphni, Dubkasm, Plastician, Chloé Robinson and Skream, as well as a back-to-back performance between Skepta and Jammer (Más Tiempo). Find the full list of artists here.

The most impressive of the newly announced acts, however, is the legendary electronic duo, The Chemical Brothers, who will be performing a DJ set on Friday 23 June. The duo announced the news to fans in a social media update this morning — check it out below.

The performance follows the duo being forced to cancel their set at Glastonbury 2022, after band member Tom Rowlands contracted COVID at the time.

Featuring at this year’s Arcadia area will be the legendary Spider installation, which breathes fire and has become renowned for its spot at the festival. It made its long-awaited return last year.

The 50-tonne installation was founded by Pip Rush and Bert Cole, and first appeared on the festival grounds in 2010. Built from mainly recycled military hardware, the installation remained at Glastonbury for numerous years, although was replaced by the Pangea crane in 2019. This will be the second year it has been back at Worthy Farm.

In other Glastonbury news, last week the festival organisers announced the new Woodsies area — which is comprised of the Woodsies Main Stage — formerly known as the John Peel Stage — and the wooded area next to it.

Artists set to appear in the new area this year include Rina Sawayama, Måneskin, Warpaint, and Christine & The Queens.

Last Thursday (May 11), the line-up for the Shangri-La late-night area of Glastonbury was announced, featuring The Streets‘ Mike Skinner, Nia Archives, Skindred, Cassyette, Flava D, Sam Divine and Empire State Bastard.

The headliners for this year’s Glastonbury include Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John. Other artists appearing at the instalment — which runs from June 21 and Sunday, June 25 — are Lizzo, Lewis Capaldi, Lana Del Rey, The War On Drugs, Lil Nas X, Chvrches, Thundercat, Carly Rae Jepsen and Manic Street Preachers.

Ja Morant has everyone in the NBA talking right now. Overall, this is for all of the wrong reasons. Once again, Morant has gotten himself into some trouble. This is due to the fact that he was toting a gun on Instagram Live. Although he had previously gotten in trouble for this earlier in the season, he has yet to learn his lesson. Ultimately, Morant has been suspended by his team, and he could miss a significant portion of next season. It’s a bad look for the Grizzlies and an even worse blow to Ja’s career.

Furthermore, a lot of prominent figures have been offering their commentary on this situation. This includes rapper Fat Joe who is a massive NBA fan. Whenever a major topic happens in the sports world, you can count on Fat Joe to comment. Overall, this Ja Morant situation is no different. Julius Randle and the New York Knicks are catching a lot of slander right now. Of course, this is due to their second-round exit at the hands of the Miami Heat. Overall, fans would have liked to have seen better from Randle, especially in Game 6. Stephen A. Smith was so mad at Julius Randle that he begged for the man to be traded. However, it seems like the biggest Randle criticism is coming from Kenyon Martin. This came during an episode of Gilbert Arenas’ YouTube show, where Martin was upset about Randle’s post-game celebration after the fifth match in the Heat series.

Essentially, Julius Randle helped the Knicks win and then immediately went and kissed his wife Kendra. For some reason, Kenyon Martin was appalled by this. He claimed that his partner was the last thing he thought about during games. Moreover, he would rather be celebrating with his guys as opposed to his wife. Overall, it was an unnecessary rant as Julius Randle’s marriage really has nothing to do with anything. That said, Kendra opted to respond to the story on social media.

“Slow news day I guess. Both of us grew up in single parent homes. We never saw our dads respect our mothers. I’m so grateful my kids get to grow up watching their dad be the best father and husband,” Randle explained. “By the way that game was after a win. Not a husband and father loving his family.” Clearly, Kendra and Julius Randle will continue this ritual, whether he is playing in New York or abroad.

Without releasing an album, Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems has undoubtedly proven that she’s a hitmaking machine. WizKid’s “Essence” opened the floodgates for her reign, eventually leading to a remix with Justin Bieber. However, her appearance on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy and the sample of her voice on Future’s hit record, “Wait For U” has led to an incredible amount of anticipation for what she has in store moving forward. At this point, she’s shaping up to be a superstar in her own right.

Unfortunately, fans have been waiting eagerly for her debut studio album, which has yet to see the light of day. However, a record from the project recently emerged online featuring an appearance from Drake. Over the weekend, a record titled “Only Me” surfaced online. The record was reportedly slated to appear on her debut album, which was initially due out in 2022. Hopefully, the leak doesn’t ruin any chances of the record seeing an official release in the near future.

Drake & Tems Collab Surface

There’s still no word on when fans could expect Tems’ forthcoming album to drop. The Nigerian star continues to ride off of the strength of her EPs,  For Broken Ears and If I Was An Orange. The former included the record “Higher,” which Future and Drake later sampled on “Wait For U.” Ultimately, this helped Tems secure the first Grammy of her career for Best Melodic Rap Performance. With the summer right around the corner, we hope that she has plans to release a new project soon, whether it’s her debut album or another EP. 

It’s unclear what’s happening at Drake’s studio but there have been a number of records that have emerged online in recent weeks. Collaborations alongside Lil Wayne (“Startrax”) and PartyNextDoor (“Bricks”) circulated recently, as well as a song called “Against The Wind,” which Drake seemingly repurposed for “The Remorse.” Additionally, his reference track for Beyoncé’s “Heated” also leaked. Overall, fans have been treated to an influx of music from the Boy this year. Besides the leaks, he debuted “Search & Rescue” and the Lil Uzi Vert-assisted, “At The Gates.” We can’t share Tems’ “Only Me” ft. Drake but it shouldn’t be hard to find online. 

In honor of Mother’s Day, Janelle Monáe shared her mom’s reaction to watching her newest music video, “Lipstick Lover.” The piece, co-directed by Monáe and Alan Ferguson, features a substantial amount of nudity and sensual content. While Monáe’s mother said she likes the song, she did admit she “was hoping that big booty” would “go away.”

“Oh-ho… that’s cool. Only thing, though: Are you gonna be able to show that nude booty all the time on the… like, on the YouTube?” Monáe’s mother asked after watching the video. She responded, “Yeah, they said we could!”

Monáe’s fans shared plenty of laughs and love in response to the video on Twitter. One wrote: “That’s right mama! Janelle is going TRIPLE GOLDEN! Happy Mother’s Day to her!” Another replied: “Mama said ‘triple golden’ and her baby is versatile. That’s right mama. Doja Cat is once again under fire for insulting her own fans. The singer is back in full force on her Twitter. Interestingly, barely any time has passed since she promised she’d be gone for a month. Doja’s social media activity has become more cryptic as the release of her next album, First Of All, approaches. The artist has been playfully discussing changing her stage name and the title of her upcoming project. She has been confusing fans in the process. However, Doja has recently been trolling fans in an even more insulting way than usual. It all started when she shared a message stating, “I’m low-key handsome, it’s crazy.” In response, someone informed Doja that she would never be funny.

Of course, Doja Cat took this as an opportunity to troll further. The user that told her she would “never be funny” seemed to be advertising a debut single on their Twitter. So, Doja responded, “How’s that debut single going?” This set off a long string of hilarious back and forth tweets. Doja and her fans traded insults, and much of it seemed to be in good fun. However, some took issue with a comment she made near the beginning of the troll fest. One person tweeted at Doja to say, “Everyone is mad because you are calling your fans dumb.” Without wasting a moment, Doja responded, “…….are they not?”

Doja Cat’s statement about her fans’ lack of intelligence has some people putting her in her place. As evidenced in the post about by The Neighborhood Talk, fans were quick to check her after the comment. “You was in dem chatrooms showing feet and we forgave you,” one fan said. “Don’t act dizzy now…” Doja Cat’s previous internet chatroom activity sparked quite a bit of controversy when it came to light. Another fan read Doja, as well, but their comment was far more serious in tone. “Your behavior is not doing what you think it’s doing,” they said.

Doja Cat has always been pretty controversial on social media, but lately the situation has gone off the rails a bit. The singer has been sharing snippets and small pieces of information about her upcoming album. However, in the process, she has also managed to insult fans, downplay her previous work, and make herself extremely unlikeable. The artist came online to announce the name of her new album, but she had some choice words for her two most recent albums. Doja stated that both Hot Pink and Planet HER were simply “cash grabs,” implying they were not her best work. She expressed that she could now disappear to an island and enjoy nature since she made her money. In the meantime, she said, her fans can mourn the loss of what she considers average pop music.
