One of the biggest remaining questions in college recruitment was the case of Ron Holland. After Bronny James committed to USC, Holland was just one of a handful of top-100 prospects without a landing spot for 2024.

Holland had originally committed to Texas but reopened his recruitment for unspecified reasons in April. While Texas remained one of Holland’s top choices, Arkansas became the favored landing spot for the 6″8 power forward. However, Holland, who is ESPN‘s #6 pick in the 2024 draft, has now announced his 2023 plans.

Holland Chooses G-League

On May 31, Holland revealed to ESPN that he would be forgoing college and spending the 2023 season with the G-League Ignite. “This process was not easy,” Holland told ESPN. “At times it was scary because at times I had no idea where I would be. The G League will help me reach my potential as a basketball player and prepare me for the NBA. To have a long career I need to prepare my body and improve my skills as I continue to try to win games. They have a program to help develop my body and my game. I know I have to work on being a more consistent shooter, along with my footwork and ball handling, so I can score in space on the perimeter against a set defender.”

The Ignite have produced stars like Jalen Green and expected 2023 top-five draft pick Scoot Henderson. Furthermore, Holland’s decision is partly driven by his relationship with Ignite head coach Jason Hart. “When I spoke with head coach Jason Hart we were on the same page,” Holland said. “He knew that winning was important to me but he also understands that I am willing to work hard to earn everything.” Additionally, Holland will also be joined by #5 recruit Matas Buzelis. Overall, the Nike Air Force 1 Low is easily one of the greatest sneakers ever made. Although not everyone loves these, you have to at least respect them. At this point, the Air Force 1 is an institution within the sneaker world. Whether it be the all-white or all-black models, these will forever be beloved. Even today, these sneakers continue to get some truly amazing colorways. Nike is always looking to innovate, and you cannot help but respect them for that.

Throughout 2023, we have already seen some very cool colorways of the Nike Air Force 1 Low. Last year, the shoe celebrated 40 years of existence, and consequently, there were a ton of great models. However, now, we have an update to the “Bronx Origins” offering which came out last year. This new version of the shoe is actually celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. It is a huge year for the genre, which is a musical styling that has always shown love to the AF1.

“Bronx Origins” Nike Air Force 1 Low

Above and below, you can see these official images. Overall, the upper is covered with some black leather. However, we get some nice patterns on the side panels. From there, green and orange gradients appear on the Nike swoosh. A vinyl record can be seen on the laces, which helps spruce these up a bit. Lastly, the midsole of the shoe is white, while grey ice appears on the outsole.

At the time of writing this, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins” does not have a release date. However, it is known that the shoe will cost a price of $150 USD. Overall, Crocs is an amazing brand, and Salehe Bembury is an incredible designer. Together, they truly struck gold with this slide. As you can see, the strap has a nice texture and ridges to it. Yeezy Slides “Azure”

The Yeezy Slides were certainly one of the best releases to come out of Kanye West’s partnership with Adidas. There are plenty of colorways to choose from, including this “Azzure” model. Although, this model isn’t exactly filled with different colors. Instead, it is a monochromatic blue color scheme. That said, it is a gorgeous model that brings the summer vibes. Moreover, it is available in a wide range of colorways.

Adilette 22 Slides “Desert Sand”

Subsequently, on our list, we have the Adilette 22 Slides “Desert Sand.” Overall, this is yet another neutral color scheme that will make an impression. What makes these slides so cool is the texture. These feel like some sort of unique rock face. Additionally, the neutral tone here adds to that aesthetic quite a bit. That said, these look amazing and the Adidas branding on the sides is a very nice touch. Various sizes are available online for a wide range of prices.

Balenciaga Pool Slides “Repeat Logo – Black Silver”

Balenciaga is one of the biggest brands out there when it comes to the luxury fashion world. Overall, they have some great pieces, and these black and silver repeat logo slides are one of them. Fresh off the release of his free-spirited collaborative album with KATRANADA, Aminé has asserted a cult-like following since the overwhelming popularity surrounding his 2016 debut single “Caroline”. Imbuing the summer with the dual-effort album’s soulful sensations, the Portland native recently announced yet another team-up by way of tapping into the East Coast with an upcoming New Balance sneaker.

On Martin Luther King Blvd. in downtown Portland, Aminé and the Boston-based brand announced their partnership by erecting a bright yellow and brown billboard featuring a message from the multi-hyphenate that reads “A Kid From Portland Has His Own Sneaker”. Serving as an ambassador for the banner since 2022, the rapper’s Club Banana apparel brand will seemingly serve as the design inspiration marked by the bunches of fruit sitting in crates on the right side of the billboard. While we could see a twist on the brand’s past Made In USA efforts, Aminé notes the collaborative take will release later this year as a firm date has yet to be announced.
