Lil Durk hinted at dropping a deluxe edition of his latest album, Almost Healed, on Twitter, Tuesday. In doing so, he described it as having “The Voice vibes,” referencing his sixth studio album from 2020. He dropped an expanded version of that project in 2021 with additional guest appearances from Lil Baby, Pooh Shiesty, and Sydny August.

As for the current version of Almost Healed, featured artists include Alicia Keys, J. Cole, Chief Wuk, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Rob49, the late Juice Wrld, and Morgan Wallen. For the production, he worked with Keys as well as Metro Boomin, Dr. Luke, Zaytoven, ATL Jacob, Chopsquad DJ, LilJuMadeDaBeat, and many more artists. Durk didn’t note who else would appear on a deluxe version.

Durk had originally intended to title his new album, The Voice 2.0. However, he and his team made a last-minute adjustment after getting advice from ASAP Rocky. Speaking with the Los Angeles Times for a new interview, Durk’s manager, Peter Jideonwo, recalled Rocky saying, “‘Y’all need to call it something else, ‘The Voice’ doesn’t really do nothing.’ We had this powerful conversation that was almost three hours long, and Durk said the words ‘almost healed.’ We decided to go with that.” Durk also discussed his choice to start therapy with the outlet. He explained, “On a microphone, I’m just having fun, rapping about whatever I’m going through. In therapy, I’m going into the details of why, or when, or how.”

A violinist on America’s Got Talent received a standing ovation after a stunning performance of System Of A Down‘s ‘Chop Suey’.

Phillip Bowen, a contestant on the 18th season of the long-running TV show, took on a rendition of the classic rock hit.

During the performance, the cameras cut to Bowen’s mother crying in the audience, before he got unanimous appreciation for the performance and voted into the next round.

Elsewhere, System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan has said the band should have replaced vocalist Serj Tankian back in 2006.

The heavy metal group last released an album with 2005’s ‘Hypnotize’ and the group went on a four-year hiatus the following year.

System Of A Down reunited in 2010 and have toured sporadically ever since. They even released two new charity singles ‘Protect The Land’ and ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’ in 2020 but a full-length album has always seemed off the table.

In a new interview, the band’s drummer (and Tankian’s brother-in-law) Dolmayan claimed that “Serj hasn’t really wanted to be in the band for a long time.”

Speaking on the Battleline podcast, Dolymayan said: “Quite frankly, we probably should have parted ways [with him] around 2006. I think we should have moved on, and if Serj didn’t wanna be in the band at that time, we should have just moved on and done it with somebody else.”

Dolmayan has previously said it’s an “insult” that the band hasn’t released more music, while he and Tankian have publicly clashed numerous times over their political beliefs.

Turnstile have debuted a new song called ‘Listening’ as part of the third season of Tim Robinson’s Netflix sketch show I Think You Should Leave.

The show launched its third season on the streaming service this week, and its fourth episode features a song by a group called The Everything-You-Knows, who are made up of Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, Pat McCrory, Daniel Fang and Franz Lyons.

Their song, ‘Listening’, is a catchy slice of alt-rock reminiscent of Blink-182, who Turnstile recently supported on their comeback arena tour in the US.

Later this year, Turnstile will play two UK gigs including a rescheduled Brixton Academy gig in London.

The hardcore band announced their biggest UK gig to date in London last year, which was originally set for May 30.

Now, the gig has been pushed back to August 15, with a new gig at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse now added for the following day. They will be the band’s only UK shows of 2023.

Brixton Academy is set to remain closed until further notice following the fatal crowd crush at an Asake concert at the venue in December – with a number of gigs beyond that now being relocated.

The band’s third album ‘GLOW ON’ was released in August 2021. In a five-star review, NME called it “the sound of rock music stretched to its thrilling limits”.

Since then, the band played a chaotic set at Glastonbury 2022 and appeared on the cover of NME.
