At this point, everyone is aware of all the controversy that Kyrie Irving went through at the beginning of the season. Overall, this controversy led to Irving losing a few of his endorsements. The biggest one of all included none other than Nike. Yes, that’s right, Kyrie lost his Nike deal. In the eyes of many, Irving had the best signature shoe in basketball, and now, he will no longer be releasing any. While he could sign with another company, it is clear that his time with Nike is officially over.

Yesterday, Irving was playing with some of the best players in the world at the NBA All-Star Game. This match was played in Salt Lake City, Utah, and he received quite a few boos from the crowd. However, Irving seemed very happy to be at the All-Star Game where he was selected by none other than Team LeBron. For the most part, Kyrie had a fairly quiet game. Although, the Mavericks superstar certainly turned heads thanks to his footwear choices throughout the evening.

Kyrie Covers Up

In the first and second half, Kyrie wore two different pairs of shoes. As you can see in the image above, these shoes were, indeed, Nikes. However, just like he did earlier this season, Kyrie found a new and unique way to cover up the Nike logo. With the first shoe on the left, Irving took some tassels and had them covering up the Nike insignia on the sides. Moreover, with the shoe on the right, Irving went for a graffiti and slime look that completely barred out the Nike logo. Overall, it was a very unique way of dealing with the fallout from his previous partnership.

Moving forward, it will be very interesting to see what Kyrie decides to do in the world of sneakers. There are various companies out there who are interested in working with him. However, Irving has a pattern of creating a path of destruction which would certainly force some companies to hold back. Hopefully, we get some updates soon on what Kyrie decides to do. Draymond Green is one of the best defenders in the entire NBA. However, when it comes to his offensive game, he leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully, he plays with the likes of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. These men have helped him win four NBA titles, and if it weren’t for them, Green would not be talked about as much as he is now. Overall, Green is still a great player, and there is a real case for him as a Hall of Famer. Regardless, he remains a polarizing figure as he does a lot of talking in the media.

If you watch Draymond Green on TNT or on his podcast, you understand that he loves LeBron James. Green is a member of Klutch Sports, and there have always been rumors of him linking up with James in Los Angeles. Although these rumors have never actually materialized into something real, Green’s love for James is absolutely palpable. Unfortunately, sometimes Green puts himself in the same breath as LeBron. For most fans, this is totally undeserved.

For instance, during his coverage of the All-Star game, Green came out and said that he feels as though no one other than LeBron has a similar resume to him. Of course, LeBron and Green both have four NBA titles. However, that is where the comparisons stop. Overall, LeBron is way better than Draymond, and the same can be said of pretty well every player at the All-Star Game. Needless to say, many fans took offense to this and roasted Green on social media. “Aside from the NBA product going downhill, we now have the NBA media getting ready be taken over by guys that just want to promote their era and how much better it is compared to the past,” one fan said. “TNT will be unwatchable when Draymond becomes a full-time host.

Drake says that he’ll be releasing the music video for his Her Loss song, “Spin Bout U,” with 21 Savage, later this week. The Toronto rapper made the announcement in a post on Instagram, Monday morning. In doing so, he shared a picture of a clapperboard from the set, revealing that it was filmed back in January.

Drake released “Spin Bout U” on the tracklist for Her Loss when the album dropped back in November 2022. The song peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Banbwoi and 40 produced the track, which contains a prominent sample of “Give Me Your Lovin” by Oobie. Drake and 21 Savage have already released music videos for their collaboration “Jumbotron Shit Poppin,” as well as the Honestly, Nevermind single, “Jimmy Cooks.”

Her Loss itself debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 while moving 404,000 album-equivalent units. The feat marked Drake’s 12th and 21 Savage’s third number-one album in the U.S. Travis Scott provided the only credited feature on the album, which came on the 10th track, “Pussy & Millions.” It was produced by Cheeze Beatz, Go Grizzly, Squat Beats, B100, and Lil Yachty.

While performing with 21 Savage at the Apollo Theater in Harlem last month, Drake announced that the two will be going on tour this summer. “I was telling them earlier but, if you guys enjoy that experience, feel free to come see me and my brother this summer,” he told the crowd. It will be Drake’s first co-headlining tour since 2018’s Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour. 21 Savage previously co-headlined The Off-Season Tour alongside J. Cole in 2021.

He also hinted at dropping another album at some point this year. “I deeply appreciate everybody for continuing to support us,” Drake said later in the show. “I’ve thought about a bunch of things in life, but at this moment in time none of those things are stopping making music for you, so I’ll be here for you for a little bit at least. Gunna was not the only co-defendant in the YSL trial to cop a plea. However, he certainly caught the most heat. Since his release in December, the rapper faced incredible scrutiny from fans, peers, and fellow members of the YSL label. Lil GotIt aired out Gunna online after bringing up his late brother, Lil Keed. Around the same time, former close friends and collaborators, like Lil Baby, seemingly distanced themselves from him. Still, Gunna and his attorney have pushed back against claims of cooperating with authorities.

Over the weekend, a bombshell video of YSL Woody in the interrogation room emerged. His statements push back against claims made by individuals, like Boosie, who haven’t been forgiving towards Gunna’s plea.

Sadow further stated that Gunna’s own deal with the D.A. won’t impact YSL trial. “Nor have his attorneys proffered information on his behalf. Charles Barkley is one of the funniest members of Inside The NBA. That is a pretty hard title to get when you are also on the broadcast with Shaq. Yesterday, Chuck and Shaq, as well as EJ and Kenny Smith were at the NBA All-Star Game in Utah. Overall, it was a fairly standard All-Star Game as no defense was played. However, there was a new addition to the broadcast crew in the form of Draymond Green. In the past, Green and Barkley have traded shots, so you can imagine what kind of energy was brought to the broadcast last night. “The Golden State Warriors are cooked,” Barkley said matter-of-factly. This then led to a strong response from Green, who said “That’s crazy. You said that last year, but we all know you don’t know what you’re talking about.” Despite all of this, Barkley did not care for the response as he completely doubled down. “Y’all are cooked now… ya’ll are done… I’m telling you, y’all are done,” Chuck replied. Overall, it is hard to disagree with Barkley when you consider how Steph Curry is injured right now. At this point, the Warriors do not have much of a chance to advance this year.

Either way, Warriors fans are still going to hang on to their dynasty, and rightfully so. They won four NBA titles in the span of eight years, which is definitely impressive. However, it seems like better teams are starting to take over in the Western Conference. For many fans around the league who do not care for the Warriors, this is great news. As announced last month, the Modfather will play three outdoor gigs this June, performing on Thursday, June 8 at Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucestershire, Friday, June 9 at Cannock Chase Forest, Staffordshire and Saturday, June 17 at Thetford Forest, Suffolk.

Speaking about the upcoming dates in a statement, Weller said: “I am very happy to be playing the Forest Live gigs again as they are always such great shows with such a great audience! See you there.”

Now, it’s been confirmed that he will be supported by Far From Saints, the new band of Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones, and Manchester singer-songwriter Seb Lowe.

Following the Forest Live gigs, Weller will headline Y Not Festival this July. The festival will return to Pikehall in Derbyshire from July 28-30, with Royal Blood topping the bill on the Friday night. Headlining the Saturday will be Kasabian, before Weller will close things out on Sunday. Meanwhile, Bombay Bicycle Club will start the party on Thursday July 27 for festivalgoers who turn up to the site early.

In December 2021 Weller had to cut his UK tour short after he contracted coronavirus. The final three dates of his 2021 UK tour – which were due to run from December 3-5 in Norwich, Lincoln and Cambridge – were cancelled on December 3 after “a band member tested positive for COVID-19”.

Weller then confirmed that he was the one who had tested positive. “I was so, so disappointed to not be able to finish the rest of the shows,” he wrote on Twitter. “I caught the dreaded COVID so that was that!” The Modfather then resumed touring across the UK last year.

Banksy‘s new Valentine’s Day artwork has found a permanent home in Margate.

Last week (February 14), the elusive artist unveiled a new art piece in the Kent town that seemingly highlights domestic violence against women.

Located at Grosvenor Place and titled ‘Valentine’s Day Mascara’, the graffiti depicts a 1950s-era housewife who has a bruised eye and is missing a tooth.

The legs of the woman’s husband are seen emerging from a real-life freezer that is in front of the artwork, while various items have been placed next to the wall including a broken white garden chair, an empty beer bottle and a blue crate.

Since its installation, the freezer was removed from the mural twice, first on Tuesday by the local council “on the grounds of safety” and then again last Thursday (December 16) by the London-based Red Eight Gallery.

Now, it has been decided to permanently re-house the mural at the town’s Dreamland amusement park.

Dreamland said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to have been asked to host Margate’s Banksy, enabling the artwork to remain in the town and accessible to all those who want to come and enjoy it for the foreseeable future.

“When everything has been finalised we’ll let you all know.”

Last November, Banksy shared a moving behind-the-scenes video documenting the creation of his recent artworks in Ukraine.

It came shortly after he confirmed that he was behind seven new pieces that had appeared across the war-torn country.

In December, eight people were detained by Ukrainian authorities over the attempted theft of a Banksy mural from a building in Hostomel near Kyiv.

LeBron is one of the best players in the entire world. Even at the age of 38, he can do things that most other players cannot. Overall, he is still averaging about 30 points per game, and he is breaking records while doing so. Consequently, it should come as no surprise that James was able to make it to the All-Star game. In fact, he was voted the most by fans which allowed him to be the Western Conference captain. Subsequently, on Sunday, he got to pick his own team prior to the match.

Typically, during the All-Star game, there is no defense being played. The game itself is just a showcase of talent, and for the most part, the players could live without it. Regardless, everyone wanted to put on a show for the fans in Salt Lake City. LeBron was certainly one of them, and he even promised Michael Malone, the coach of his team, that he would try and do at least one defensive play. While James made good on his promise, he ultimately got his hand caught in the rim on the play. From there, he injured his hand and was forced to leave the game.

As you can imagine, fans were very concerned about LeBron getting injured. The Lakers are in the fight of their lives for a playoff spot, and they cannot lose James right now. Although, it seems like there shouldn’t be too much cause for concern at the moment. This is because James spoke about the injury after the game, telling reporters “I’ll be fine. I don’t think it’s too much to worry about.” Additionally, with the All-Star break continuing, it seems like LeBron will have plenty of time to mend himself.

Overall, this is still not great news for the Lakers. After all, you never want to see your player get injured, especially in a meaningless game like the All-Star game. P!nk has denied “shading” Christina Aguilera after comments she made about recording the music video for ‘Lady Marmalade’.

The collaborative single featuring Aguilera, Mya and Lil’ Kim – a cover of Labelle’s 1974 song of the same name – was recorded in 2001 for Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! soundtrack.

However, P!nk recently suggested that creating the elaborate, burlesque-themed music video wasn’t without its challenges.

“It wasn’t very fun to make; I’m all about fun, and it was a lot of fuss,” the singer told BuzzFeed while ranking her favourite videos.

Placing it at number 12, she continued: “There were some personalities… Kim and Mya were nice.”

“I guess it is iconic, but I remember I kept crying because my skin didn’t like the makeup. It was just… There [were] some annoying things happening that day,” she added.

The singer’s comments began to circulate on social media as people noted that she listed everyone in the music video except Aguilera.

However, P!nk has since responded that her comments were not made to throw “shade” at her fellow pop star.

“Y’all are nuts Xtina had shit to do with who was on that song. If you don’t know by now – I’m not ‘shading’ someone by telling it over and over and over what actually happened,” she said on Twitter.

“I’m zero percent interested in your fucking drama. If you haven’t noticed- I’m a little busy selling… And by selling- I mean tickets and albums and bake sales and shit.”

The singer concluded: “Also – I kissed xtinas mouth. I don’t need to kiss her ass,” apparently a reference to when the singers once played spin the bottle together.

The pair reportedly feuded in the past over who was going to sing what part in the now iconic song.

In a 2009 VH1 Behind the Music special, P!nk said a record executive asked: “What’s the high part? What’s the most singing part? Christina’s going to take that part.”

P!nk went on: “I stood up, and I said ‘Hi. How are you? So nice of you to introduce yourself. I’m Pink. She will not be taking that part. I think that’s what the fucking meeting’s about.’”

However, the pair worked together on The Voice in 2016 where P!nk was as an advisor for Team Christina, with P!nk later explaining that it gave them a chance to make amends.

“We were super young and super new at the whole thing,” she explained on Watch What Happens Live. “I think I’m an alpha and she’s an alpha. I’m used to taking my altercations physical and she’s used to having them verbal. We just are very different.”

Her comments came shortly after tweeting that the pair had “made amends”.

The tour is set to begin in April and will feature career-spanning setlists incorporating songs from The Libertines, Babyshambles and Doherty’s solo projects.

Of what to expect from the shows, a statement read: “Peter promises to take audiences on an unforgettable ride into his strange and fascinating world where nothing is as it seems and life itself is an intense euphoric dream. Friends and special guests are expected to join him on occasion across these seventeen dates.”

‘The Battered Songbook Tour’ begins in Belfast on April 13, ending on May 5 with a huge London gig at the Royal Albert Hall.

Elsewhere, The Libertines recently gave an update on their forthcoming new album, with Carl Barât saying that it will have a “different energy” to their past work. The band worked on the record in Jamaica, with Pete Doherty saying previously that they had a “productive” summer working on new material for the band’s fourth studio album before the European leg of their recent tour.

On their recent sessions, Doherty has now told NME‘s In Conversation series: “We put a few new songs together, me and Carl.”

Barât added: “Sonically, we want to do something we haven’t done before… I think we’ll be looking to do something with a different energy than before. But we’re not at that stage yet.”

Drummer Gary Powell told NME in August that his focus was on “forging forward” with the band’s fourth album. “The good thing is everybody’s been writing,” Powell said. “Obviously, we’re not going to try and reinvent the wheel… but I think we can push the boat out a little more while still bringing something that has the same emotional integrity and dynamism that the audience craves when they come to a Libertines show.”
