The Award-Winning adidas Adizero Family Introduces The Boston 12 And Adios 8

Over its 74-year-old history, adidas has helped athletes achieve unthinkable feats in the worlds of running, football, and other sports. Over the last decade, the brand’s Adizero lineup of running shoes has made podiums on handfuls of occasions, enabling runners to their – and the several courses’ – best times.

Ahead of summer, the Three Stripes has unveiled the newest members of its award-winning adidas Adizero family: the Boston 12 and Adios 8. Both long-running series’ within the German brand’s storied roster of performance models, the Boston 12 and Adios 8 preview what’s to come from the Adizero franchise.

Training companions to the sport-leading adidas Adios Pro 3 worn by Evans Chebet in his back-to-back win of the Boston Marathon, both new models are technical and visual departures from their predecessors. From the top down, uppers are constructed with engineered mesh laid out differently than on the Boston 11 and Adios 7. Overlays across the shoes are abandoned in favor of lighter constructions. Furthermore, the Adizero design team – which includes Charlotte Heidmann, Senior Global Product Manager, Running Footwear – opted for a lace loop-less lacing system for improved lockdown across the mid-foot. As with other products from the Three Stripes, uppers on both the Boston 12 and Adios 8 feature at least 50% recycled materials, helping the brand achieve its goal of ending plastic waste.

Underfoot, both Adizero products have been redesigned for better stability while also offering a conservative ride in comparison to other options, as told by Heidmann in an exclusive phone call with Sneaker News. “It’s important we don’t only sell racing shoes.”

Unlike the Adios Pro 3, both the Boston 12 and Adios 8 feature a mix of adidas’ two marquee running foams: Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro. The new additions to the Adizero family introduce Lightstrike 2.0 to the world, promising a “lighter and denser… [more] propulsive” ride than Lightstrike’s first iteration, according to Heidmann. Layered midsole setups are also accompanied by updated stiffening components. The Boston 12 borrows the Energy Rods 2.0 system from the Adios Pro 3, ridding itself of the two-piece glass fiber-infused rods seen on the Boston 10 and 11. The Adios 8 unveils Energytorsion Rod 2.0, a wishbone-shaped TPU component now featuring a third rod running from the mid-foot to forefoot that provides a snappy toe-off.

Both the Boston 12 and Adios 8 were developed in collaboration with elite runners in Kenya. The Boston 12 is now available globally via adidas.com and in-stores; the Adios 8 will be available starting from June 15th. Pricing is $160 USD and $130 USD, respectively.

Lil Uzi Vert Joins Paramore On Stage For “Misery Business”

Lil Uzi Vert has long been a fan of Paramore. Back in 2017, they famously mentioned the lead singer, Hayley Williams, as a huge influence. “She’s like the best,” Uzi said in an interview. “It’s hard to top that. She’s like the best, just of my generation… There’s nobody bro.” The rapper also famously uploaded a video of themself jamming alone to a Paramore song in the car. Apparently, they almost collaborated with the band. However, Hayley Williams reportedly turned down the chance to work together after Lil Uzi reached out. In March 2020, during an interview with Apple Music, Hayley Williams explained why she declined an opportunity to collaborate Uzi.

Williams revealed that Uzi had asked her to work on some music together, but she turned them down. “I remember, too, Uzi asking me to do some stuff with [them],” she said. “I know that fans are going to be so pissed at me for saying this, but I literally wrote [them] back on Instagram and I was like, ‘Buddy, I love you so much, but I don’t want to be that famous.’” Despite the initial rejection, Lil Uzi Vert remained hopeful. During last summer’s BET Awards, they spoke with Complex, stating that their dream collaboration was still with Hayley Williams from Paramore. They emphasized that in their view, there was no one better than Hayley Williams.

Lil Uzi’s dream finally came true. During Paramore’s second performance at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, they added another exciting twist to their hit song, “Misery Business.” Lil Uzi Vert made a surprise appearance, and together they delivered a fresh rendition of the track. Before they sang together, Hayley Williams had some kind words for the rapper. She gave them a big hug before delivering a message of love and support.

“[We’ve been] talking for a minute, but this is the first time we’ve met in person. I love you,” Williams told Lil Uzi. “You’ve said too many nice things about me. You are so sweet to me and to Paramore, so can we do this bridge again together? And then we’re gonna melt their faces off. Alright? New York City, are you ready? Here we go!” With that, the pair performed the final half of the song excitedly as the crowd cheered them on. What do you think of the video? Sound off in the comments below! NLE Choppa Drops Star-Studded “Champions” Video

NLE has dropped a music video for his new track, “Champions.” Recently, the rapper has been on a journey of transformation and personal growth. It has been not only fascinating but also surprising to witness, particularly in terms of his adoption of veganism and involvement in activism. However, it appears that the changes NLE Choppa has made have changed his life for the better. The music video for the rapper’s new song “Champions” prominently showcases these changes.

D.A. Got That Dope produced the new NLE Choppa track. The instrumental features triumphant brass instruments that call to mind sports championships. The track also features NLE Choppa delivering inspiring lyrics about overcoming challenges. “Ay, we gon’ ball never fall, the champions / The champions, the champions,” he sings on the chorus. “Ay, we gon’ ball, never fall, I put my head up / And told ’em, ‘Crown me.’” The track’s lyrics and instrumental flow perfectly together. NLE Choppa’s new track fits right in with the video for it. The clip includes appearances by many world-renowned athletes. These include Floyd Mayweather, Odell Beckham Jr., Olympic Gold swimmer Michael Andrews, Kyrie Irving, and others. Additionally, the video captures a heartwarming moment featuring the rapper. Choppa visits Cornerstone Prep Denver Campus in Memphis to celebrate the students’ victory in his reading challenge. The elementary students earned recognition for collectively reading over 40 million words.
