Doja Cat hinted that she’s planning on dropping new music within the next four weeks on Twitter, earlier this week. She did so while saying that she’s going to be logging off of social media until the lead single from her next album drops. Doja was voicing her frustration with the negative responses to her latest hairstyle.

“Saw somebody edit hair onto my head for this look i did last night and it made me mad so i wanted to let them know they should be making money instead,” Doja wrote in one post. She then added: “im also aware of the ramifications of the last tweet and that I’ll only be seeing edits of me with hair for the next 4 weeks so I’ll be logging off / deleting twitter till my lead comes out.”

Fans quickly took note of the wording of her tweets. “wait… lead coming in 4 weeks then?? GAG,” one wrote in response. Another replied: “OMG LEAD SINGLE IN 4 WEEKS.” Doja has been teasing the release of her next album for months at this point. Earlier this month, she confirmed that she’s deviating away from pop music with the new project. “No more pop,” she tweeted while replying to a fan. “Pop isn’t exciting to me anymore. I don’t wanna make it.” She also wrote that “the majority of [her] rap verses are mid and corny,” but continued, “I know they are. I wasn’t trying to prove anything, I just enjoy making music. But I’m getting tired of hearing y’all say that I can’t [make rap music] so I will.”

The new project will be Doja’s Cat’s fourth studio album, following the release of Planet Her in 2021. 6ix9ine has joined in on the recent trend of eating bugs. The TattleTales rapper shared a video of himself stuffing down a handful of insects on Instagram, earlier this week. In the clip, he’s surrounded by a group of friends. The post comes after the release of his new single, “Y Ahora.”

The video was eventually reposted by No Jumper, where fans had plenty of responses to the move. One shared a conspiracy theory on the trend: “More celebrities are doing this so people can follow eventually this is what they will try to incorporate and feed us when the next food pandemic hits …. It’s already a good shortage don’t be fooled.” Another joked, “Chasing grasshoppers with tequila is crazyyyy ole bro lost a few brain cells in that bathroom beat down.”

That user was referencing the recent attack on 6ix9ine at a Florida gym. The rapper had been at a sauna in an LA Fitness when a group of men attacked and robbed him. He spoke about the incident with NBC Miami afterward. “For me, it was tough to watch because it was so unexpected. It’s cowardly,” he said. “When I look at it, I just see hate, right? Imagine being someone who doesn’t know someone from a hole in the wall. I’ll give you an example: today is the first day that I meet you, I don’t know you from anywhere, I could have heard something about you that I may have an opinion on, but I don’t know you to hate you.”

For the attack, three men were eventually arrested and charged with the assault. However, the charges against one suspect, Anthony Maldonado, were dropped, earlier this week. “I literally am so confused by the whole situation,” Maldonado said during an interview with 1090 Jake on Instagram Live. “I walk out the house and literally they have six detectives outside, everybody with assault rifles, German Shepherds and stuff, walking me out like a killer in front of all my neighbors. They take me to the police station, and they don’t even do a proper investigation. The didn’t ask me who I was with, where I was at that night, none of that. They just said, ‘You look like the guy and that’s you.’”

Fans have long awaited Dear Mama, a documentary series about the relationship between Tupac Shakur and his mother Afeni. Directed by Allen Hughes (Menace II Society, Book Of Eli), the five-part mini-series is set to provide an intimate look into one of the most important relationships in the late rapper’s life. However, nearly 200,000 people alone watched the live FX premiere of Dear Mama, which gave it a strong footing.

Kendrick Lamar has been on top of the rap game for a decade, and even his leaks get more buzz than a lot of big releases. The NFL Draft wasn’t the only thing going down in Kansas City on Friday night. The city also played host to the first-ever Kelce Jam, a music and food festival hosted by Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The festival featured food trucks, events, and live music. Kelce is a two-time NFL champion, coming off his second earlier this year. He was drafted in the third round of the 2013 Draft and has spent his whole career with Kansas City. He is currently considering the best tight end in the NFL and one of the greatest to ever play the position.

It had been a pretty wild couple of days for the Kelce Brothers. While Travis was drinking beers off the Super Bowl trophy, his brother Jason was chugging Buds with Eagles fans at the draft. It’s great to see the two brothers, who faced off in the Super Bowl this year, blowing off steam in the offseason. However, Travis had managed to secure some big-name talent for his festival. And arguably, they were bigger names than the NFL was able to get.

Kelce Lands MGK and Rick Ross

First up was Machine Gun Kelly. It’s been a rough couple of days for MGK, as fans speculate on another split from Megan Fox. This comes after Fox reportedly no-showed MGK’s birthday. However, MGK showed up and put out as he and Kelce belted out a rendition of The Beastie Boys’ “Fight For Your Right”. Of the new albums that have arrived so far this weekend, arguably one of the most talked about so far is Jack Harlow’s Jackman. The 10-track, featureless effort chiefly shows off the Kentucky native’s pen game after a lukewarm reaction to his sophomore LP, Come Home The Kids Miss You. Of the titles on the tracklist, one that’s earned a significant amount of attention so far is the second, “They Don’t Love It,” on which he cleverly compares himself to Eminem – an artist he’s looked up to for most of his life.

“Ya boy’s strivin’ to be the most dominant ever / The hardest white boy since the one who rapped about vomit and sweaters,” Harlow rhymes on his latest release. While his biggest fans would obviously agree with that statement, so many were ready to argue with the “WHAT’S POPPIN” hitmaker that one of his contemporaries’ names began trending on Twitter today (April 29). According to many, the late Mac Miller is undeniably the one who deserves that moniker, not him.

Jack Harlow Calls Himself “The Hardest White Boy” Since Eminem

“Until Jack Harlow drop a verse like Paul Wall on ‘Sitting Sideways,’ or give us albums like Mac Miller he can respectfully shut the f*ck up,” one certainly upset user wrote. Another chimed in with, “Mac Miller was better than both of y’all if we being honest,” not-so-subtly dissing both Harleezy and Slim Shady. Elsewhere, others markedly begged fans to leave the fallen Circles artist’s name out of the conversation. They’ve previously done this during other online discourse, involving names like Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande, and Kanye West.

Twitter Defends Mac Miller’s Legacy

Suge Knight is currently masterminding a ten-season biopic series to premiere on BLK Prime later this year. Each of the show’s seasons will focus on Suge’s relationship with a different iconic member of Death Row Records. These figures ranges from 2Pac to Snoop to Diddy to Dre. The show will eventually conclude with his trial and incarceration. All this is happening despite Suge being in a California prison for voluntary manslaughter.

However, in a new interview with TMZ, Suge has revealed yet more details about the show. Specifically, Knight has promised that the show will tell the true story behind two iconic 90s sounds. Those being 2Pac’s “California Love” and Snoop’s Doggystyle album. Both works were created and influenced by Dre during his time at Death Row. However, Suge’s claims would rock the music industry and even have the potential to rewrite history.

Suge Claims Dre Did Not Create “California Love” or “Doggystyle”

Why those in particular? Because Suge wants to hit back against recent claims about the stories behind them. Let’s start with Doggystyle. Released in 1993, Doggystyle peaked at #1 and went four-times platinum. It came off the back of Snoop’s involvement in Dr. Dre’s The Chronic and was produced by Dre. However, Suge alleges that the album was actually produced by Daz Dillinger and that Dre bought the album rights from Daz. Dillinger is yet to refute or corroborate this story.

Then there’s “California Love”. Suge’s ire about this song stems from 2015’s Straight Outta Compton. The film shows Dre and Tupac Shakur creating the song together. Once again, Suge says that’s false. According to Knight, the original beat was created by DJ Quik. It then went unused for five years until introduced it to 2Pac, not Dre. This is because, according to Suge, 2Pac and Dre were beefing at the time of “California Love”‘s recording. Dre is yet to respond to these allegations.
