Faux Fur, Velvet, And Silver Metallic All Dress This Pink-Dyed Nike Air Force 1

Though they may be currently limiting online sales of the Air Force 1, Nike has not yet stopped tweaking the silhouette further and further. Here, it dons a number of luxurious elements that all come together atop a bright pink colorway.

The base construction is, unlike its smaller parts, quite simple. Tumbled leathers make up the majority of the upper, every panel shaded in pink like the lining, midsole, and fuzzy laces adjacent. More interestingly, the Swoosh is given a silver metallic finish that leads to an equally special velvet-covered heel tab. But the latter is certainly no rival to the additional tongue, whose removable base is covered in a faux fur that proffers the brightest instance of the focal hue.

Enjoy an official look at these below and sit tight as we await their upcoming release on Nike.com.

If you like pink, you may also enjoy the Dunk Low Gypsy Rose.

adidas Is Re-releasing The D Rose 1.5 From His MVP Season

The trajectory of Derrick Rose’s career changed permanently on the night of April 28th, 2012 when the Bulls star guard tore his ACL on what appeared to be a rather standard movement considering his style of play. It’s tough to swallow the fact that things were all good not even a year prior as the Memphis standout was awarded the NBA MVP in the 2010-2011 season. It appeared as if Chi-Town would be re-living the glory days of the Jordan-led dynasty of the 1990s as they eclipsed the Magic, Cavs, and Celtics as the top Finals contender coming out of the East.

Derrick Rose will undoubtedly be among the biggest “what if” stories in sports history, but the oft-injured guard has found new purpose in the NBA, but not as a perennial MVP candidate. Rose has emerged as a pivotal floor general for Tom Thibodeau, a mentor to young backcourt players, and an empath on social media. Throughout the journey, Rose has managed to maintain his relevance and following simply for his humanity.

With a lifetime deal in operation, adidas has continued to release Derrick Rose’s footwear, and now’s about the time that the retro lifecycle begins. Ten years ago, during Rose’s MVP season, adidas released the D Rose 1 and the D Rose 1.5 – the latter serving as a lightweight, postseason-ready issue of the signature model. It debuted in this sleek Bulls-ready colorway with black suede uppers, white patent leather toes, and a tech-filled construction that allowed Rose to play at the speeds he’s most comfortable with.

Currently, retailers have marked down December 15th as the official release date of the adidas D Rose 1.5 retro, but there’s no telling if these will be delayed just like most other launch product. Stay tuned for updates and we’ll fill you in as we learn more.

BMG Acquires Mötley Crüe’s Recordings Catalog

BMG has acquired Mötley Crüe‘s entire recorded music catalog in a deal that marks the company’s largest single-artist deal since its founding in 2008, it was announced Tuesday (Nov. 30).

The deal covers the heavy metal icons’ nine studio albums, starting with the 1981 debut Too Fast for Love to the latest release, 2008’s Saints of Los Angeles. Billboard estimates the band has sold 22.5 million albums in the U.S., based on RIAA certifications pre-1991 and MRC Data figures from 1991 to present.

BMG’s global catalog team plans to work closely with the band and its management to re-promote the releases starting next year.

“It feels amazing to be collaborating with our new partners at BMG,” Mötley Crüe said in a statement. “Their extensive track record of success in Rock made them the perfect home to continue preserving and growing our musical legacy, ensuring we always stay at The Top.”

Mötley Crüe’s manager Allen Kovac added: “After working side by side with BMG for well over a decade, the relationship we have developed and success we’ve accomplished over the years made this a very easy transition to entrust with this treasured Rock catalog. Working with BMG in any capacity, whether that’s publishing or records, has always been a great experience.”

Mötley Crüe’s most popular recordings, spanning from Too Fast for Love to 1997’s Generation Swine, and including the singles “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and “Dr. Feelgood,” among others were all released on Elektra Records, which the band signed with in 1982. In the 1990s, Kovac helped the band acquire those masters from Elektra was part of a contract renegotiation.

In June 2022, Mötley Crüe plans to kick off their headlining U.S. stadium tour, which was previously postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The more-than-30-date tour marks the band’s first major concert run since 2015.

“This is more than just a significant transaction. It’s a new chapter for an extraordinary catalog,” said BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch in a statement. “Few bands understand the myth and the magic of Rock like Mötley Crüe do. In an increasingly competitive rights acquisition market, artists need to be convinced that a buyer will do the right thing with their work. I am delighted that Mötley Crüe have decided BMG will be the best custodians of their musical career.”

In March, BMG announced it was teaming with private equity firm KKR to buy music assets in what was described as a $1 billion deal pipeline. This Mötley Crüe acquisition, however, is not part of that partnership.

Mötley Crüe, Kovac and Chris Nilsson of 10th Street Entertainment were advised in the transaction by Tim Mandelbaum, Cynthia Katz, and the law firm of Fox Rothschild.

This story is developing.

Watch Cardi B Hit the Grocery Store to Work & Twerk With Karrueche Tran on ‘Cardi Tries’

Cardi B is back with a new episode of Cardi Tries___, and this time, she’s headed to the grocery store with Karrueche Tran.

On the new episode, which premiered Tuesday (Nov. 30) on Facebook Watch, the “Up” rapper and her model pal revisit Cardi’s past as a teenage grocery clerk by donning aprons at a local Fields Market in Canoga Park, Calif.

Visiting the produce section, the pair stock apples as they swap stories about being fired from a supermarket and a Mrs. Fields cookie shop before their stacking handiwork comes crashing to the ground. (“Do we gotta throw it away or we could wash them,” Cardi says as she frantically struggles to keep more apples from falling on the floor.)

After chopping watermelons, Cardi and Karrueche are forced to stop by the rapper’s least favorite department in the grocery store: the meat counter. “I still gon’ eat it, I just need two days to get over it,” Cardi says after trimming the fat off a few tri-tip steaks. “This right here I avoid all the time. I don’t like raw meat.”

During the episode, the duo also clean up a mess of dog food on aisle six – where Karrueche learned she could “twerk and clean at the same time” – and manned the cash register, which the pregnant Cardi jokes gave her “PTSD.” At least she remembered that eggs had to be bagged separately!

As a thank you, Cardi and Karrueche end the episode by gifting the workers at the store with two weeks worth of paychecks and a sweet card shouting out essential workers for all they did during the pandemic.

Watch the latest episode of Cardi Tries___ below.

Here Are the Answers to Adele & Lil Nas X Billboard x VersusGame Matchups, Plus the Latest Questions

Adele and Lil Nas X were in the spotlight for the Billboard x VersusGame matchups for the charts dated Dec. 4. The games were available to play in the first week following the Nov. 19 release of Adele’s new Billboard 200 No. 1 album 30.

As announced last month, Billboard and VersusGame have joined forces to bring music fans a one-of-a-kind, user-generated experience with games that test knowledge of pop culture for a chance to win prizes and monetize trend predictions. Billboard is hosting biweekly head-to-head challenges on entertainment and pop culture gaming app VersusGame, where fans can vote on their favorite artists and songs and wager on who will top the charts and more. (VersusGame data shows that fans have predicted correct chart outcomes nearly three out of four times so far.)

Last week’s challenges featured the following questions:

Will all 12 songs from the standard edition of Adele‘s 30 chart in the top 40 of next week’s Billboard Hot 100: Yes or No?

Answer: No. While all 12 songs place on the latest Hot 100, six rank in the top 40, led by “Easy on Me,” which rebounds for its fifth week at No. 1.

Will Lil Nas X‘s Montero spend a 10th week in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 next week: Yes or No?

Answer: No, Montero ranks at No. 19 on the latest Billboard 200. It launched at its No. 2 high on the chart in October.

To make predictions about your favorite songs and artists, you can download the VersusGame app on your mobile phone in the App Store, Google Play or at about.versusgame.com.

Currently, four questions are in play, including two ahead of the release of Billboard’s 2021 year-end charts:

Which song will rank higher on next week’s Billboard Hot 100? Silk Sonic’s “Smokin Out the Window” or Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby”?

Which album will rank higher on next week’s Billboard 200? Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour or Doja Cat’s Planet Her?

Olivia Rodrigo had a breakout year in 2021. Which of her No. 1 singles will rank higher on Billboard‘s year-end Hot 100 ranking: “Drivers License” or “Good 4 U”?

And, Which food-themed No. 1 hit will finish in the top 10 of the 2021 year-end Billboard Hot 100 chart: “Butter” by BTS or “Peaches” by Justin Bieber featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon?

Visit billboard.com and follow @billboardcharts on Twitter as next week’s charts are revealed to find out the results of the latest Billboard questions on VersusGame.

Iron Maiden and Marvel join forces for unique merchandise collection

Iron Maiden and comic book powerhouse Marvel have joined forces to release a unique new merchandise collection.

READ MORE: Iron Maiden – ‘Senjutsu’ review: an imaginative instant classic

Launching in time for Christmas, the assortment of apparel and accessories intertwines the universes of both brands, highlighting iconic Marvel characters and the classic rock band’s notorious Eddie character.

Designs pay tribute to Wolverine, Venom, Thanos and Deadpool in unique variations of some of Iron Maiden’s iconic album and single covers, such as ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Trooper’ and ‘Killers’.

“Eddie has long stood shoulder to shoulder with the greatest super-heroes and we’re also pretty proud of the Worlds we created for his many incarnations – from battlefields to Egyptian tombs to frozen icescapes or futuristic cities,” Rod Smallwood, Iron Maiden’s manager, said in a statement.

“Juxtaposing some of the most recognisable characters in pop art and comic book culture into planet Maiden has been an ambition of ours for years and working with Marvel and their unparalleled character-based IP is the perfect fit in this day & age.”

He added: “To see such iconic characters alongside Eddie is something our fans have discussed for years and we think that the twist of placing Venom, Thanos, Thor or Deadpool in our Maiden worlds will excite fans of both cultures.”

You can see some of the designs below:

“Marvel is cool and aspirational, and has inspired the greatest artists, musicians and creators for more than 80 years,” said Paul Gitter, SVP of Marvel Licensing. “This collaboration offers another exciting example of how the Marvel brand continues to push into lifestyle areas, with music being a top priority, and the collection allows fans to pay tribute to our iconic characters, while celebrating the legendary, Iron Maiden.”

Meanwhile, a Canadian high school principal who recently made global headlines after exposing herself as an Iron Maiden fan will keep her job, despite “concerned parents” calling for her removal.

Sharon Burns – principal of Eden High School in St. Catherines, Ontario – was recently criticised after sharing two images on social media, one of which showed her posing in-front of an Iron Maiden banner and license plate whilst throwing a ‘horns up’ gesture, and the other featuring a figure of the band’s mascot, Eddie, sitting alongside a handwritten note saying “Eddie 666” inside a love heart.

As previously reported, a group of parents started a Change.org petition to transfer Burns to another school, writing that they were “deeply disturbed that the principal assigned to the school blatantly showed Satanic symbols and her allegiance to Satanic practices on her public social media platforms where all the students can see them under.”

A counter-petition titled ‘We need Mrs. Burns’ amassed over 24,500 signatures at the time of writing. A representative of Burns has since confirmed that the principal will remain in her role.

Nothing Mid About This Upcoming Nike Air Force 1 “Athletic Club”

Heavy on the retro sporting aesthetic is Nike’s most recently revealed in-line capsule of footwear dubbed the “Athletic Club” Pack. Already appearing across Nike Sportswear’s heritage footwear models such as the Air Force 1 Low, Waffle Trainer 2, Blazer Mid, and more, the “Athletic Club” focuses on the brand’s earliest days in the 70s decade by applying some throwback design touches. Seen here via official images are two colorways of the Air Force 1 Mid; both feature the exterior zig-zag stitching on the border of the Swoosh, the “Athletic Club” emblem on the heel, insoles, and tongue label. Like the other inclusions i this capsule, the model name appears on the ankle strap in a rather bland typeface.

However, the Air Force 1 Mid separates itself from the rest of the Athletic Club Pack thanks to the use of a texture leather on the ankle strap and a floating ankle collar reminiscent of a prevalent layered trend purported by Comme des Garçons and sacai.

The entire Nike Sportswear “Athletic Pack” is likely dropping in the Spring 2022 season, so check the detailed official images and sit tight for releases info.

In competing brand news, the Yeezy Slide “Ochre” is scheduled to release in the middle of December.

Where To Buy The adidas Yeezy 500 “Ash Grey”

December 2021 might be the busiest month ever in the adidas YEEZY brand’s eight year existence. Fifteen different Yeezy shoes are scheduled to release in December, and that’s without any surprise or shock-drop style releases. At this pace, it seems dang near impossible for Kanye to sneak in another drop in this packed release schedule, because the first weekend of Yeezy releases in December already has two global drops in the works.

Officially releasing on December 4th, 2021 is the adidas Yeezy 500 “Ash Grey”. At one point the most affordable Yeezy shoe on the market, the 500 continues to be touted for its chunky running shoe look while possessing the most adidas brand DNA (the sole is taken from one of Kobe Bryant’s older signature shoes, the KB8). The strict adherence to neutral monochromatic tones have detracted repeat buyers while keeping Yeezy fans hungry for more, but it doesn’t appear as if the Yeezy product team is looking to stray from this formula anytime soon.

As mentioned earlier, the Yeezy 500 “Ash Grey” will release on December 4th, 2021 for $200 and will be available on adidas, Yeezy Supply, and partnering retailers globally. See the store list ahead and enter raffles now or wait for the morning drop.

In other December sneaker releases, the Cool Grey 11s are officially releasing on 12/11.

BTS Claims Top Two Spots on Hot Trending Songs Chart, MONSTA X Debuts In Top 10

BTS commands the top two positions on Billboard‘s weekly Hot Trending Songs chart (dated Dec. 4), powered by Twitter, thanks to its former Billboard Hot 100 leaders “Butter,” at No. 1, and “My Universe,” with Coldplay, at No. 2.

“Butter” reigns for a fifth week with 4.5 million Twitter mentions in the tracking week, which ran from Friday Nov. 19 through Thursday, Nov. 25. The song took home the trophy for favorite pop song at the American Music Awards, which aired Nov. 21 on ABC, while BTS also won for artist of the year and favorite pop duo or group. Plus, as announced Nov. 23, “Butter” is nominated for best pop duo/group performance at the 64th annual Grammy Awards.

“My Universe” follows on Hot Trending Songs with 1.5 million mentions (up 114%) in the period, after the groups performed the collaboration on the AMAs.

BTS has now ruled the weekly iteration of Hot Trending Songs for all six weeks of the chart’s existence; the South Korean stars’ “Permission to Dance,” also a former Hot 100 No. 1, led the inaugural list (dated Oct. 30).

Billboard‘s Hot Trending Songs charts, powered by Twitter and sponsored Capital One, track global music-related trends and conversations in real-time across Twitter, viewable over either the last 24 hours or past seven days. A weekly, 20-position version of the chart, covering activity from Friday through Thursday of each week, posts alongside Billboard‘s other weekly charts on Billboard.com each Tuesday. The charts highlight buzz around new releases, award shows, festival moments, music nostalgia and more. Hot Trending Songs is unique in that it tracks what songs people are talking about, not necessarily what they’re listening to.

Elsewhere in the Hot Trending Songs top 10, MONSTA X’s “Rush Hour” debuts at No. 9. The track is from the group’s new EP, No Limit, released Nov. 19.

Among other Hot Trending Songs debuts, Stray Kids’ “Christmas EveL” enters at No. 15, with its parent EP of the same name having arrived Nov. 29, and Mark Tuan’s “Last Breath” bows at No. 16 following its Nov. 12 release.

Plus, Stylers and the BTS Army teamed up to help Jungkook debut at No. 20 with his cover of Harry Styles’ “Falling.” The BTS member surprised fans with his version of the track in October.

Keep visiting Billboard.com to check out the constantly evolving rankings, and check back Tuesdays for each weekly chart.
