Warner Chappell Music has extended its worldwide co-publishing deal with Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter Carter Lang through a joint venture with Electric Feel Entertainment. The deal covers both the hitmaker’s existing catalog and future works made under the deal’s term.

Best known for producing hits like “Sunflower,” Swae Lee and Post Malone’s anthemic 11x-platinum single, and for “Kiss Me More,” Doja Cat and SZA’s top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, Lang got his start playing in the Chicago-based band The O’My’s before attending Loyola University in New Orleans. After studying music business at the university, he returned to Chicago and was introduced to SZA in 2015, sparking a longstanding creative partnership. With SZA, Lang worked on hits like “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott and “Good Days,” among others, and toured with the R&B singer for her Ctrl Tour that year.

“This year has been rewarding, seeing how ‘Good Days’ connected emotionally with fans in healing way,” Lang said about the deal. “Like ‘Good Days,’ it was also crazy to see how ‘Kiss Me More’ caught on so quickly and reflected the natural tempo and climate of the world at the time. The listeners used the song as a tool to dance together and sing out, as opposed to embracing the loneliness during the difficult times of the past year and a half.”

A&R partner and manager at Electric Feel Entertainment, David Waltzer added, “Carter has had an unbelievable year and this deal with Warner Chappell only further continues his upward trajectory. His commitment to music and his amazing ear shows just how talented and versatile he truly is. His dedication is amazing and it’s helped prove for some very successful wins, particularly this year with SZA’s ‘Good Days’ and Doja Cat ft. SZA’s ‘Kiss Me More.’ A lot of session planning and mapping goes on behind the scenes to reach these milestones as a team. I look forward to more success in the coming year alongside Carter and Warner Chappell.”
