Lil Nas X Is Laughing at Super Sanitized Kidz Bop Lyrics for ‘Montero’

If you ever sat around and wondered, “man, is there any way Kidz Bop could do a clean version of Lil Nas X’s ‘Montero?’” Well, join the club, because the Grammy-winning MC seemed tickled to death on Tuesday (Oct. 26) to post the super-sanitized lyrics of his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit, which, of course, completely strips away his R-rated verses in favor of some shiny, happy lines about vacations and pleasant dinners.

“I wanna lie on the beach in Hawaii/ I want that jet lag from livin’ and flyin’/ Put a smile on your face whilst we’re dinin’/ Oh, oh, why me?” Lil Nas posted in a screenshot of the radically revamped lines. Now, of course, the original was a bit racier, with Lil Nas rapping, “I wanna sell what you’re buying/ I wanna feel on yo’ a– in Hawaii/ I want that jet lag from f—ing and flying/ Shoot a child in your mouth while I’m riding.”

A quick spin also reveals that while Nas X was talking about “cocaine and drinking with your friends” and being down for all kinds of bad behavior (“I’m not fazed, only here to sin/ If Eve ain’t in your garden, you know that you can”), the Kidz’s pre-chorus is scrubbed totally clean of transgression.

“Singin’ and dancin’ with your friends/ You live in the dark, yeah, I cannot pretend/ I’m not fazed, only here to win/ If you ain’t in the garden, you know that you can,” the tweens sing on the song that appears on the Kidz Bop 2022 collection, which also sanitizes tracks from Olivia Rodrigo (“Good 4 U” and “Deja Vu”) and Justin Bieber (“Peaches”).

Check out Nas’ post and listen to the Kidz Bop version below.

Rammstein’s Till Lindemann announces European solo tour in 2022

Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has announced plans for a European solo tour in 2022.

READ MORE: Fire, fireworks and flaming babies: the five hottest moments in Rammstein’s stunning Milton Keynes show

Lindemann will hit the road for six dates for his ‘Ich Hasse Kinder (I Hate Kids)’ tour in January, taking in shows in Kiev, Bratislava, Prague, Tallinn, Novosibirsk and Moscow. You can view the dates below.

“The first dates have been announced, the rest will follow shortly. Till will perform with his own line-up, without Peter Tägtgren [previous founding member]. The songs from the Lindemann project will still be on the setlist,” Lindemann World reports.

No UK shows have yet been announced but more gigs are set to be.

‘Ich Hasse Kinder (I Hate Kids)’ was released as a single earlier this year alongside a gory music video.

Lindemann previously went under his moniker with Tägtgren, the guitarist of death metal outfit Hypocrisy until they “agreed in November 2020 not to continue Lindemann together.”

Last time the Rammstein frontman was in Russia he was questioned by police before the cancellation of his appearance at a music festival in Tver.

Although it was previously claimed that Lindemann had been arrested, it was later reported that he was not detained, but questioned in his hotel room by police. The authorities wanted to speak to the star about the event, which allegedly would have violated the country’s COVID-19 policies.

Meanwhile, he recently featured on a new cover of ‘Always On My Mind’ with Rammstein guitarist Richard Kruspe.

First recorded by Gwen McRae in 1972, it has also seen memorable cover versions by Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson and Pet Shop Boys among others.

Earlier this year Rammstein revealed that they had written a new album over the course of the coronavirus pandemic. Their seventh and latest record, ‘Untitled’, came out in 2019.

On Saturday (October 23), Lil Nas X decided to troll Boosie by claiming he had a collaboration on the way with the Louisiana rapper, who for the past few months has been publicly voicing his dislike for the ‘Old Town Road’ rapper’s openness with his sexuality.

While the ‘Industry Baby’ artist’s fans understood it was a joke, with many of them laughing through the livestream, Boosie didn’t take kindly to rapper’s comments.

In a since-deleted tweet, Boosie launched into a homophobic rant using slurs and suggesting that the star to kill himself.

After experiencing a lot of backlash for his comments, Boosie took to social media on Sunday (October 24) to respond to the online chatter.

“If yall think the whole world hate me ‘yall trippin’,” he wrote. ”I have international love N respect for how I am N what I stand for N never forget theres a ghetto N every city, state, country etc who rock with boosie FRFR #therealest.”

Appeal launched to save ‘Pink Floyd’ pub and venue from demolition

An appeal has been launched to save the pub where Pink Floyd‘s Syd Barrett and David Gilmour first met.

Barrett is said to have crossed paths with the band’s future guitarist and co-lead vocalist at The Crown in Cambridge in the late 1950s. Now called the Flying Pig, the pub and grassroots venue is facing demolition as part of ongoing redevelopment plans.

Pace Limited was initially granted permission to tear the building down. Following an outcry from locals, however, it later revised its plans in a bid to keep parts of the pub, though these were ultimately rejected.

Back in June, the Flying Pig’s managers Matt and Justine Hatfield said they had been given six months to vacate the property. They have lived above the Hills Road pub for the last 24 years.

As previously reported, the pair were given notice to leave by today (October 27).

The appeal was issued to the government’s Planning Inspectorate, with a final decision expected to be made next year. “A successful appeal will protect and preserve the Flying Pig,” said Pace Limited.

“The [rejected] plans would have seen the Flying Pig preserved and enhanced with greater accessibility so that everyone in Cambridge and further afield could visit this popular free house, and live music venue.”

The site has been under threat for over a decade, with plans to redevelop the area first approved by Cambridge City Council in 2008.

Matt and Justine Hatfield had raised money through a Crowdfunder and an Arts Council cultural recovery grant to see them through the coronavirus pandemic.

“We were just getting back on our feet, and business was looking healthy with our music back in the garden,” they explained over the summer.

Last month David Gilmour shared a demo version of ‘Yet Another Movie’ ahead of the reissue of Pink Floyd’s ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’, which arrives tomorrow (October 29).

Rishi Sunak announces new Beatles attraction in Liverpool

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced plans for a new Beatles attraction in Liverpool as part of today’s (October 27) Budget.

Details are unclear as to what the project will be and how it will differ from the current museum dedicated to the Fab Four in the city.

The development is part of an £850million investment to protect museums, galleries, libraries and local culture across the UK.

Speaking in the House Of Commons, Sunak said: “Thanks to the Culture Secretary [Nadine Dorries], over 800 regional museums and libraries will be renovated, restored, and revived.

“And she’s secured up to £2million to start work on a new Beatles attraction on the Liverpool waterfront.”

— BBC North West (@BBCNWT) October 27, 2021

His announcement comes months after a cinema George Harrison and John Lennon spent their teenage years attending was saved from demolition in Liverpool.

The Abbey Cinema in Wavertree, Liverpool featured in The Beatles‘ personal writings and the original lyrics of their 1965 song ‘In My Life’, officially closed in 1979.

Meanwhile, yesterday Wilco shared two covers by The Beatles as part of a celebration of the band’s final album ‘Let It Be’ and Katy Perry also shared a cover of ‘All You Need Is Love’ for a new Gap advert.

In other Beatles news, Peter Jackson’s forthcoming documentary series The Beatles: Get Back will premiere on Disney+ from November 25-27.

The Beatles: Get Back will tell “the story of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they plan their first live show in over two years, capturing the writing and rehearsing of 14 new songs, originally intended for release on an accompanying live album.”

Sunak, meanwhile, is the subject of IDLES track ‘The New Sensation’, which will feature on their forthcoming album ‘CRAWLER’.

“If he were in front of me, I wouldn’t have a lot to say to Rishi; I’d have a lot of questions,” Talbot recently said.

“The point of turmoil in this country is political and I’m not a politician. It’s not Rishi Sunak I’m here to talk to. He’s smarter than I am. He’d win. It’s not me versus him; it’s us versus them.”

Snail Mail shares new single ‘Madonna’ alongside official live version

Snail Mail has shared a new track called ‘Madonna’ – you can listen to it below.

READ MORE: The NME Big Read – Snail Mail: “It’s awesome seeing lots of women and queer people in music”

The US singer-songwriter – real name Lindsey Jordan – released the single today (October 27) as the latest taste of her second album ‘Valentine’, which arrives on November 5 via Matador.

Jordan also premiered an official live version of ‘Madonna’ on her official YouTube channel. It was recorded at the Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington, New York.

“I am excited to share this one! In summation, it’s about why love can’t exist between a person and a concept of a person,” Snail Mail explained in a statement. “Remove the pedestal and you might realise there was never anything there at all.”

Tune in to both versions below:

‘Madonna’ follows on from Jordan’s recent singles ‘Ben Franklin’ and the ‘Valentine’ title track.

Snail Mail is set to hit the road for a UK headline tour next February, with a run of US dates scheduled throughout November and December 2021.

Her UK dates are as follows:

FEBRUARY 2022
18 – Manchester, Academy 2
20 – Glasgow, QMU
22 – Bristol, SWX
23 – London, O2 Forum Kentish Town

In a four-star review of Snail Mail’s debut album ‘Lush’ (2018), NME wrote: “Right now, Lindsey Jordan is being lifted up as the next gatekeeper of indie-rock. One (very good) album feels a little too early to coronate her just yet, but ‘Lush’ is setting its creator on the right path, at least.”

Comme des Garçons x Nike Air Foamposite One Officially Releases On November 5th

Since 1997, the Nike Air Foamposite One has captivated audiences from hardwood courts in Orlando, Fla. to the concrete streets of New York City. On November 5th, Japanese institution, Comme des Garçons, will release two monochromatic colorways of the model, which has had its exterior shell modified for the first time ever.

The Nike Basketball sneaker’s iconic upper forgoes its traditional vertical ridges in favor of a pattern much more reminiscent of zen gardens. Each profile features a series of circles around the heel, with forefoot areas also donning the radial detail. The remainder of the either all-black or all-white shell follows a curved design that flows smoothly throughout the silhouette Anfernee Deon “Penny” Hardaway helped popularize. Sole units and tongue arrangements are kept standard across both options, but heel overlays abandon swoosh and Nike Penny logos in favor of the Japanese label’s “HOMME PLUS” branding.

Enjoy images of both pairs here below, and find the CdG Foams arriving to the Dover Street Market e-shop on November 5th for $520 USD.

Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Air Jordan 3 has recently surfaced in a handful of retro styles.

The Latest Kid’s Air Jordan 1 Low Features Multi-Colored Canvas

The Air Jordan 1 Low still doesn’t garner the attention of its tallest counterpart, but it’s won new enthusiasts over throughout 2021 with handfuls of compelling styles. The latest proposition arrives in the form of a colorful kid’s-exclusive retro donning canvas overlays.

As with some of the most popular Nike Dunks to release since 1985, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a “colorless” leather base. Panels around the forefoot, along the tongue and at the heel deviate from their underlay’s white makeup in favor of autumn-appropriate yellow and brown. Collar lining and patches at the bottom heel, however, introduce vibrant green and pink into the mix, respectively. Profile swooshes also partake in the canvas build, which delivers a late Spring 2021 or early Spring 2022 option. Underfoot, a tried-and-proven midsole is coupled with a semi-translucent Nike Grind outsole.

Enjoy official images of the low-top Air Jordan 1 here below, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
