There’s no turning back for Nike, now that they’ve reset the standards for Air bubble sizes on the Air Max 1. With two distinct tiers of AM1 now available — the aforementioned Air Max 1 OG ’86 style and the more prevalent smaller-bubble style — Nike will be running these streams simultaneously, with the latter styles likely getting more releases like the “Urawa”, “Aquatone“, and much more.

However, today we’re getting a first look at a new colorway at the larger-volume cushion in a colorway pairing of Smokey Mauve and Dark Team Red. The dusty pink shade is seen on the suede quarter, heel, and interior lining, while the dark red shade sits on the mudguard/Swoosh pairing. Classic white is seen on the sport mesh on the base and ankle to keep to that mid-80s appeal.

There’s a selection of Air Max 1 OG ’86 releases set to drop throughout 2023, so stay tuned for updates. For now, peep a shot at the box label ahead and you’ll see that the broken-in shoebox will be a mainstay in the Big Bubble drops.
