Over the past week, several of the most influential players in the sneaker space revealed a healthy mix of future-thinking silhouettes and heritage designs.

As has become customary, NIKE, Inc. shook up social media feeds with its healthy dose of Air Jordan, Nike Dunk and Nike Air Max retros. Additionally, the Oregon-based conglomerate appealed to enthusiast’s nostalgia by promising returns-to-true-form of several Nike Basketball propositions. LeBron James also unveiled what’s believed to be the Nike LeBron 20, a career-defining achievement shared by very few athletes. No technical specifications have yet been revealed about the latest hoops-ready shoe, but it seems that “the kid from Akron” is building upon his most recent low-top signature sneaker.

Outside of any swoosh, Jumpman or star and chevron logos, institutions the likes of New Balance and adidas shared looks at some of their boldest bets for the foreseeable future. After gaining mainstream attention with the help of Joe Freshgoods, the New Balance 90/60 emerged in a number of other special collaborations and general release styles. The Boston-based brand also threw its sock into the laceless, clog-osphere with the aptly named New Balance Clog. Elsewhere, the Three Stripes doubled down on recent controversy from both the being formerly known as “Kanye West” and the internet with a “confrontational” social media campaign for its adidas adiFOM Q, a shoe with strong semblance to the popular Yeezy Foam Runner. There’s no telling how the relationship between the German sportswear behemoth and Ye will pan out, but it sure is exciting to watch.
