Teddy Santis has proven that every New Balance he touches turns to gold. The Queens-native’s work as creative director for the brand’s Made In USA program has been highly lauded, making way for styles like the 990v2 among sneaker wish-lists.

Debuted in 1998, the New Balance 990v2 has enjoyed a cult following over the last several decades. Recent times have seen the ABZORB-cushioned silhouette help the likes of Ronnie Fieg continue to expand their relationship with the Boston-based institution. Santis’ second season overseeing the New Balance Made In USA label will deliver at least one more muted take on the 24-year-old design. Drab olive pig suede couples with contrasting tan tones around the heel. Cushioning and traction solutions underfoot keep things simple in off-white and black tones, allowing for the upper to revel in the spotlight.
