Rob Zombie has resurrected 1313 Mockingbird Lane and its scary residents just in time for Halloween as he offers a glimpse of The Munsters reboot he’s helming.
The co-founder of heavy metal band White Zombie shared some black-and-white photos of the cast from the new built-from-scratch set depicting 1313 Mockingbird Lane, the address the fictional Munster family once occupied during the original 1964 sitcom. The original Munsters show followed a family of friendly monsters who relocated from Transylvania to an American suburb, running for only two seasons and earning a Golden Globe nomination for best television series in 1965.
Jeff Daniel Phillips will portray Herman Munster, while Sheri Moon Zombie takes on the role of Lily Munster and Dan Roebuck plays Grandpa Munster, also known as The Count.
“Since Halloween is rapidly approaching I thought it was the perfect time to MEET THE MUNSTERS!” he captioned the post. “Direct from the set in good old Hungary. I present Herman, Lily and The Count sitting in front of the newly completed 1313 Mockingbird Lane.”
The hard-core musician has lent this talents to directing horror films over the last two decades, such as the 2007 and 2009 reboots of Halloween and Halloween II, as well as 2019’s 3 From Hell. Zombie first confirmed the reboot in June by announcing on his Instagram, “My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years!” The film is under Universal Studios’ 1440 Productions division.
Although there is no official release date for The Munsters announced, CNN reported that it will be released in theaters as well as the Peacock streaming service.
