Adele has announced two huge shows at London’s Hyde Park next summer.

READ MORE: Adele’s voice has never sounded better than on her stunning new song ‘Easy On Me’

The singer is set to perform on July 1 and 2 for her first shows in the UK since 2017.

“Oiii Oiiiiiiiii,” Adele wrote on Instagram announcing the dates.

Fans can sign up here from 8am today (October 26) to access Adele’s pre-sale which begins at 10am on Thursday (October 28). American Express Cardmembers can also access pre-sale tickets from 10am on Friday (October 29).

Her dates come after the singer shot straight to Number One in the UK singles chart after ‘Easy On Me‘ clocked up a massive 217,300 chart sales in its first week – the highest week one figure since Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’, earned 226,800 back in January 2017.

Adele also broke another chart record with the track racking up 24million streams in the UK topping Ariana Grande’s record of 16.9million set back in January 2019 with ‘7 Rings’.

Reviewing ‘Easy On Me’, NME wrote: “For now, though, Adele has returned with a reassuring slice of classic Adele balladry. This song will chime with anyone going through a quarter-life crisis, a mid-life crisis, or just a crisis of a hangover. And if you look to Adele’s music to make you cry, you won’t be disappointed.”

Her fourth album, ’30’, is set to arrive on November 19.

All Time Low deny sexual misconduct allegations against guitarist Jack Barakat

Content warning: This article contains descriptions of alleged sexual misconduct and  alleged sexual abuse of minors.

All Time Low have denied allegations of sexual misconduct that have emerged about band member Jack Barakat. The guitarist has been accused of inappropriate sexual behaviour and sexual abuse towards female fans of the band that allegedly took place when they were minors.

“The allegations being brought against us are absolutely and unequivocally false,” reads a statement written by all four members of the pop-punk group, shared on their Twitter page.

“When a TikTok video gained traction a few weeks ago alluding to inappropriate behavior within our camp, we chose not to respond because of the glaring inconsistencies in the story and the apparent reluctance to mention us by name,” the statement continues.

“We felt that a response would have elevated and escalated an outright lie and in doing so robbed actual victims of abuse of their very real and very important collective voice. We believe victims. We stand with victims. We have only ever wanted to cultivate and nurture a culture around our show and band that is welcoming, healthy, and safe.”

— All Time Low (@AllTimeLow) October 25, 2021

While not elaborating on the details of the TikTok, a video went viral on the platform earlier this month in which a woman said a “famous pop-punk band” had “let [her] on their tour bus when [she] was 13”. In the video’s comments, the woman said the band “tried to take my bra for their nasty collection [and] offered me beers”.

A different woman has since accused Barakat of sexual abuse that began in 2011, when she was 15 years old, during the band’s tour behind fourth studio album ‘Dirty Work’. “I had no idea that a week after my fifteenth birthday, my hero would take advantage of me,” she wrote.

The woman, who remained anonymous, shared her account on Twitter with the username @ATLstatement, but the profile was soon suspended. Screenshots of the woman’s statement have since been shared on that platform.

Elsewhere in All Time Low’s statement, the band say they are “investigating further the source of these false accusations” and will be “seeking legal recourse”.

“We stand with victims and always wish to amplify the voices and stories of those who have suffered abuse and trauma,” they added. “But we cannot and will not fuel or amplify lies that only cloud and distort the true stories of those who need to be heard and represented.”

Via his personal Twitter account, Barakat retweeted the band’s statement, saying, “I feel the need to personally refute the claims being made against me and us, as they are 100% false”.

Tyler, The Creator and Snoh Aalegra are science experiments in ‘Neon Peach’ video

Snoh Aalegra has delivered a colourful music video for her recent collaboration with Tyler, The Creator, ‘Neon Peach’.

READ MORE: Snoh Aalegra – ‘Temporary Highs In The Violet Skies’ review: healthy dose of introspective R&B

The video sees both Tyler and Aalegra being studied in a science lab, appearing in virtual petri dishes. As we look through the microscope, we can see Aalegra lounging on a hill while Tyler sits atop a purple convertible.

Other scenes show Aalegra performing in room decorated entirely in silver, while Tyler plays a game of ‘Guess Who?’, except all the cards are of himself. Watch the I.P.W.-directed music video below:

‘Neon Peach’ is one of two collaborations with Tyler, The Creator that appear on Snoh Aalegra’s latest album ‘Temporary Highs In The Violet Skies’, the other being ‘In The Moment’.

‘Temporary Highs In The Violet Skies’ is the Swedish singer’s third album, following on from 2019’s ‘Ugh, Those Feels Again’. In a review of the album, NME‘s Sophie Williams wrote, “‘Temporary Highs In The Violet Skies’ doesn’t broaden Aalegra’s sound or lyrical content greatly…but in continuing to be so open and expressive about love, hope, and loss, she makes it feel possible for the rest of us.”

In addition to putting out his own album ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ earlier this year, Tyler, The Creator has kept busy with collaborations, also having linked up with Maxo Kream for ‘Big Persona’ just last month.

Tyler is set to tour America early next year, before playing shows in Australia and New Zealand throughout July, coinciding with his set at next year’s Splendour In The Grass where he’ll headline alongside The Strokes and Gorillaz.

Little Simz shares new video for ‘I Love You, I Hate You’

Little Simz has shared a new video for her ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ standout ‘I Love You, I Hate You’.

READ MORE: Little Simz: “It’s nice to see my peers win. When they win, I win”

The raw, vulnerable song – released as a single back in July – sees Simz addressing her absent father, rapping: “Hard to not carry these feelings even on my best days / Never thought my parent would give me my first heartbreak.

The accompanying video, directed by Jeremy Ngatho Cole, visually represents many of the sentiments expressed on the track. It opens with a young man sitting at a table, looking distressed while those around him paint.

Later on, a young woman is seated at a table with an older man – presumably her father – the table stretching further, the distance between them growing over time. Watch the emotive video below:

‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ arrived early last month. A five-star NME review of the album said: “Little Simz has ferocious energy on this album, a relentlessness that she must get everything in her head out now. It feels like she is closing the volume to a book, the last chapter in it written and filed.

“With ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’, Little Simz has crafted a near-perfect album that will exist as a marker for future generations to try and attain; it’s not hyperbole to suggest that this canonises her work forever, elating her to be one of the greats.”

Britney Spears says she “wants justice” after conservatorship ends

Britney Spears has hit out at her family and called for “justice” after her conservatorship finally ended.

READ MORE: Controlling Britney Spears review: toxic conservatorship back under the microscope

It comes just weeks after father Jamie was suspended from his role as conservator.

Now the singer has shared a lengthy post on Instagram. “Don’t you find it weird when you jump through hoops to organise trips or set up lunch dates with people you love only to know they’ll bail on you or leave after 10 minutes ??? It’s humiliating and it’s like every person I’ve ever opened to immediately says they’ll be gone on a trip for two weeks after… OK I get it… they’re only available to me when it’s convenient for them,” she wrote alongside a photo of a typewriter.

“Well I’m no longer available to any of them now!!! I don’t mind being alone … and actually I’m tired of being this understanding Mother Teresa… if you’re rude to me then I’m done… peace out,” she continued before adding, “This message is to my family… for hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know!!!”

She added: “I know the conservatorship is about to be over but I still want justice!!! I’m only 5’4″ and I’ve played the bigger person my entire life… do you now how hard that is???”

Spears previously hit out at her family over their handling of her conservatorship earlier this month.

“If you have a friend that’s been in a house that feels really small for four months, no car… no phone … no door for privacy and they have to work around 10 hours a day seven days a week and give tons of blood weekly with never a day off… I strongly suggest you go pick up your friend and get them the hell outta there!,” she wrote at the time.

“If you’re like my family who says things like ‘sorry, you’re in a conservatorship’… probably thinking you’re different so they can [mess] with you!!!

She also recently admitted that she was “scared to do anything because I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake”, writing about life in the immediate aftermath of the court’s decision to end her conservatorship after 13 years.

Last month (September 29), the star’s father was suspended from his role as her conservator by a judge. The conservatorship was not ended on the spot, with Spears’ lawyer Mathew Rosengart arguing for a new hearing to be held within 30 to 45 days in order for Jamie Spears’ conduct to be investigated.

Adele’s comeback track “Easy On Me” blasted to No. 1 on the Official U.K. Chart last Friday, setting records along the way.

The song is roaring up the charts around the planet, as it starts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Global Charts, Australia’s national survey and elsewhere.

“Easy On Me” is the first track lifted from Adele’s 30, her forthcoming fourth album due out Nov. 19.

It’s the followup to 2015’s 25, an album so popular, Adele was crowned IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year for the year, an award which recognizes the top artist across physical sales, downloads and streaming.

Her global tour in support of that album was pure box office dynamite. When it wrapped, Adele stepped away from the public glare for five-long years, until “Easy On Me” dropped in full earlier this month.

The Hyde Park concerts are the first confirmed Adele dates, but they won’t be the last. The multiple Grammy Award-winner is considering a Las Vegas residency in 2022, sources tell Billboard.

For a cover story published in Vogue, Adele hinted at big things to come. She’s reportedly been warning friends that she’s “getting ready to be famous again.”

Jonny Greenwood shares two new songs from ‘The Power Of The Dog’ soundtrack

Jonny Greenwood has shared two new songs from his soundtrack to Jane Campion’s forthcoming western drama The Power of the Dog.

READ MORE: Jonny Greenwood on writing the soundtrack for new Princess Diana biopic ‘Spencer’

‘West’ and ’25 Years’ are lifted from the Radiohead guitarist’s original score for the film, which is set to premiere with a limited theatre release on November 17 before coming to Netflix on December 1.

Based on Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel of the same name, the film is set in 1925 and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Phil Burbank, a rancher in Montana. According to a synopsis, Burbank reacts with cruelty when his brother (Jesse Plemons) brings home his new wife and son – played by Kirsten Dunst and Kodi Smit-McPhee respectively – “until long-hidden secrets come to light”.

Listen to ‘West’ and ’25 Years’ below:

“The main thought I kept returning to was that this film is set in the modern era,” commented Greenwood in a statement. “It’s too easy to assume any cowboy story takes place in the 19th century. There is so much culture in Phil’s character. He’s well read and it isn’t hard to imagine his taste in music being — alongside his proficiency on the banjo — very sophisticated.

“The pleasure in a character this complex and emotionally pent-up, is that it allows for complexity in some of the music, as well as simpler, sweeter things for his contrasting brother. Bouncing between these two characters, musically, generated a lot of ideas.”

The Power of the Dog marks Greenwood’s second film score for the year, having also composed the soundtrack Pablo Larraín’s forthcoming Princess Diana biopic, Spencer. He shared a new song from it, ‘Crucifix’, earlier this month.

Since 2003, Greenwood has composed the music for several other films, including Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be BloodInherent Vice and Phantom Thread.

Greenwood also recently told NME what’s to come from new side-project The Smile (also featuring Thom Yorke along with producer Nigel Godrich and drummer Tom Skinner of Sons of Kemet).

“Lots of it is just about finished”, Greenwood revealed. “We’re sitting in front of a pile of music, working out what will make the record. We’re thinking of how much to include, whether it’s really finished or if there are a few guitars that need fixing. I’d hope it’ll come out soon, but I’m the wrong person to ask.

“I’m the most impatient of everybody in Radiohead. I’ve always said I’d much rather the records were 90 per cent as good, but come out twice as often, or whatever the maths works out on that. I’ve always felt that, the closer to the finish, the smaller the changes are that anyone would notice. I’d have said The Smile could have come out a few months ago, but it wouldn’t be quite as good. I’m always impatient to get on and do more.”

Britney Spears Wants ‘Justice’ After Conservatorship Ends, Calls Out Family For ‘Hurting’ Her

Britney Spears is sending another message to her family.

In a post shared to the pop star’s Instagram account Monday (Oct. 25), Spears called out her family for “hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know” and demanded for “justice” after the conservatorship ends.

“Don’t you find it weird when you jump through hoops to organize trips or set up lunch dates with people you love only to know they’ll bail on you or leave after 10 minutes ??? It’s humiliating and it’s like every person I’ve ever opened to immediately says they’ll be gone on a trip for two weeks after… OK I get it… they’re only available to me when it’s convenient for them,” she wrote alongside a photo of a typewriter.

“Well I’m no longer available to any of them now!!! I don’t mind being alone … and actually I’m tired of being this understanding Mother Teresa… if you’re rude to me then I’m done… peace out,” she continued before adding, “This message is to my family… for hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know!!!”

Spears also noted, “I know the conservatorship is about to be over but I still want justice!!! I’m only 5’4″ and I’ve played the bigger person my entire life… do you now how hard that is???”

The recent post is not the first time Spears has called out her family on social media. Earlier this month, Spears wrote of her family, “If you’re like my family who says things like ‘sorry, you’re in a conservatorship’ … probably thinking you’re different so they can fuck with you !!!! Thankfully I found an amazing attorney Mathew Rosengart who has helped change my life !!!!”

Spears’ recent comment also mirror the ones made during a June 23 hearing where she gave a 20-minute testimony detailing the hardships she has endured throughout the decades-long conservatorship and stated that her family didn’t do a “goddamn thing” to intervene. She also expressed hopes to “sue” them, as well as her father be charged with “conservatorship abuse.”

Last month, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny suspended Spears’ father, Jamie, from his role as conservator of her estate finding the arrangement was no longer in her best interest.

Following the suspension, Spears expressed gratitude to the #FreeBritney movement, which has been credited for raising awareness on the singer’s conservatorship. “I have no words. Because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship … my life is now in that direction,” she wrote at the time.

US Congress to consider honouring Prince with congressional gold medal

First steps have been made by several US politicians to have Congress award Prince a congressional gold medal for his “impact to the culture”.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, as reported by The Guardian, said in Capitol Hill earlier this week that the late musician showed her “it was OK to be a short, Black kid from Minneapolis and still change the world”.

The ‘Prince Congressional Gold Medal Act’ was proposed in a resolution co-sponsored and led by Omar as well as Senator Amy Klobuchar, who said, “Purple reigns in Minnesota everyday because of him.”

“The world is a whole lot cooler because Prince was in it — he touched our hearts, opened our minds, and made us want to dance,” Klobuchar said.

“With this legislation, we honor his memory and contributions as a composer, performer, and music innovator.”

Omar continued, saying “He not only changed the arc of music history; he put Minneapolis on the map… I am proud to introduce this resolution to give Prince the recognition he deserves.”

For the honour to be given to Prince, who passed away in 2016, at least two-thirds of the Senate and the House must approve the resolution before it can be signed into law by President Joe Biden.

The ‘Prince Congressional Gold Medal Act’ asks that the medal be given to the Smithsonian Institution, should it pass, and put on display, specifically at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Only 163 congressional gold medals have been awarded since the first was given to George Washington over two centuries ago. Only a handful of musicians have received the honour, the latest being Frank Sinatra, who was posthumously given the medal in 1997. Other notable recipients include Rosa Parks, Pope John Paul II, Mother Theresa, the Dalai Lama and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Prince’s infamous lost 2010 album, ‘Welcome 2 America’, was posthumously released back in July of this year, with NME‘s Andrew Trendell describing it as “an album that speaks to today’s problems and demands to be heard. It’s better to have it now than never.”
