Outlook Festival to launch in UK next summer

Outlook Festival has announced that the Croatian-based soundsystem event is heading to the UK in 2022.

The four-day festival, which will continue to celebrate soundsystem culture and bass music much like it did in its early beginnings, is set to take place at Cheshire’s Cholmondeley Castle, kicking off on June 30 through to July 3.

Although the bill is yet to be announced, Outlook organisers have said that fans can expect DJs, crews, collectives, MCs, rappers, labels and more. Past headliners the festival have included Goldie, D Double E, Mala, Channel One Soundsystem, and labels and collectives such as Kiwi Rekords and 24hr Garage Girls.

“Over the last 14 years, Outlook Festival has been an incredible party, but underpinning it has been this community of people with a love of this music and culture,” said Outlook’s co-founder, Joe Barnett.

“We’ve seen countless dubplates made, new partnerships forged, tunes produced and friendships made, and to have the ability to bring that together again on UK soil is amazing.”

Cholmondeley Castle is described as an “idyllic landscape” that “boasts lakes, greenery, and a diverse range of stages, spaces, and surprise spots to backdrop the festival experience.”

You can sign up for more information on the official Outlook website here.

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Primavera Sound will launch in LA next year with Arctic Monkeys, Nine Inch Nails, Lorde and more.

The debut of the festival in its new location, which was meant to launch last summer before plans were shelved due to COVID-enforced restrictions, takes place from September 16-18 at the LA State Historic Park.

James Blake, Mitski, Arca, Khruangbin, Bicep, Clairo, Darkside, King Krule, Low, PinkPantheress, Kim Gordon, Fontaines D.C., Helena Hauff, Tierra Whack, John Talabot and Dry Cleaning are also among the names announced for the inaugural event, which is an expansion of the original Barcelona-based festival.

Soulja Boy says Kanye West got him kicked off other rappers’ albums

Soulja Boy has said that Kanye West is to blame for his not appearing on albums by other artists.

READ MORE: Kanye West – ‘DONDA’ review: some gems among lots – and lots – of filler

He and West were involved in a public feud after the release of the latter’s tenth album ‘Donda’ earlier this year. After his contribution was left off the final version of the release, Soulja Boy gave an interview where he called Kanye a “coward”.

West then said the verse was left off because it was “trash”, to which Soulja responded on livestream calling the entirety of the ‘Donda’ trash. Last month, West publicly apologised.

Now however, Soulja has claimed that West is to blame for him missing out on other feature spots. In an Instagram Live broadcast, he claimed that both Stunna 4 Vegas and Lil Yachty have also cut him from songs.

“This is a PSA. This is a public service announcement. None of you rappers call my phone no more, please. I’m begging y’all,” Soulja said.

“Kanye, this is your fault,” he said. “Before this ‘Donda’ album shit, nobody wasn’t trying Big Draco like that. Now you got Lil Yachty sending me songs, and taking me off the song. You got Stunna 4 Vegas sending me songs, and putting the songs out with Big Yavo and SSG Kobe. What is going on around here?”

Meanwhile, West recently ended another longstanding feud, with the rapper set to play a ‘Free Larry Hoover’ benefit show this week with Drake.

West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, revealed last month that Drake would join him for the benefit concert this Thursday (December 9) at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The concert follows a reunion between the two artists.

“UNC” Colors Land On The adidas Forum ’84 High

While Ye – the being formerly known as “Kanye West” – continues to help adidas produce footwear of the future, the German sportswear behemoth hasn’t forgotten its past. On the contrary, the brand has shone the spotlight on models like the adidas Forum ’84 High, which has recently appeared in a “UNC”-appropriate colorway, throughout 2021.

Akin to other releases of the adidas Originals‘ ’84-variant, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a quality and color-blocking reminiscent of inaugural styles from 37 years ago. High-quality “colorless” leather makes up the majority of the sneaker’s upper, while light blue suede lands at the profile 3-Stripes. Trefoil logos follow suit, as do the inner lining and collar panels. Underfoot, the adidas Forum further nods to its debut year, boasting a slightly-yellowed sole unit that also taps into the growing consumer interest in “Neo-vintage” footwear.

Enjoy official images of the pair here below, and anticipate an adidas.com launch in the first-half of 2022.

Where To Buy The KAWS x sacai x Nike Blazer Low “Purple Dusk”

While not the most-coveted collaboration of 2021, the KAWS x sacai x Nike Blazer Low in “Purple Dusk” is an important one, and releases on Friday, December 10th.

First teased in early November, the upcoming sneakers serve as the latest three-way joint-effort pitched by Chitose Abe. Individually, the latest low-top Nike Blazer doesn’t offer anything that hasn’t previously been seen: exposed foam tongues and ankles join layered profile swooshes, tongue labels and midsole foxing, while Brian Donnelly etches his signature “XX” mark onto the lateral forefoot. On a macro-level, sacai’s ” Purple Dusk/Aqua/Pink/White”-colored project further demonstrates NIKE, Inc.’s commitment to allow select creatives from across the globe to reimagine previously-guarded sneaker designs; the late Virgil Abloh‘s work also tapped into this change in culture at the North American institution.

Enjoy images of KAWS’ latest Nike collaboration here below, as you wait to try your luck via Nike SNKRS on December 10th.

For more swoosh-branded footwear, check out the Air Force 1, which celebrates its milestone 40th anniversary in 2022.

Dustin Lynch & MacKenzie Porter’s ‘Thinking’ Caps Country Airplay Chart

Dustin Lynch‘s “Thinking ‘Bout You,” featuring MacKenzie Porter, rises to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart (dated Dec. 11). In the tracking week ending Dec. 5, the collaboration increased by 3% to 28.4 million audience impressions, according to MRC Data.

Lynch, who co-wrote the song with Andy Albert, Hunter Phelps and Will Weatherly, adds his eighth Country Airplay leader, while Porter achieves her first.

“It’s been really special to be able to share this ride to the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart with MacKenzie,” says Lynch. “I am excited for this song to continue doing its thing and keep changing our lives!”

The track is from Lynch’s fourth LP, Tullahoma, which debuted at No. 4 on Top Country Albums in February 2020, marking his fourth top 10.

Lynch, from Tullahoma, Tenn., follows “Momma’s House,” which reached No. 5 on Country Airplay in April. He last led with “Ridin’ Roads” for a week in January 2020.  His additional six No. 1s: “Good Girl,” for a week in January 2019; “Small Town Boy” (four weeks, starting in September 2017); “Seein’ Red” (one week, February 2017); “Mind Reader” (one, June 2016); “Hell of a Night” (one, September 2015); and “Where It’s At (Yep, Yep)” (two weeks, September-October 2014).

Lynch achieved his first of 10 Country Airplay top 10s with his debut hit, the No. 2-peaking “Cowboys and Angels,” in 2012.

Porter, from Medicine Hat, Alberta, scores her first Country Airplay No. 1 in her second visit to the chart, after “These Days” reached No. 56 in August 2020.

On the airplay-, sales- and streaming-based Hot Country Songs survey, “Thinking” pushes 5-4 for a new best. It drew 6.4 million U.S. streams and sold 1,300 downloads in the Nov. 26-Dec. 2 tracking week.

A ‘WHISKEY’ TOAST Michael Ray nets his fourth Hot Country Songs top 10 as “Whiskey and Rain” climbs 12-10. The single drew 4.9 million U.S. streams, up 28%, in the tracking week, aided by prominent placement in Amazon Music’s Country Heat playlist. On Country Airplay, it holds at its No. 6 high, up 7% to 21.4 million impressions.

Ray last hit the Hot Country Songs top 10 with the No. 10-peaking “One That Got Away” in April 2019. His two additional top 10s: “Think a Little Less” (No. 3, 2017) and his debut hit “Kiss You in the Morning” (No. 10, 2015; it also topped Country Airplay).

ROAD TRIP Jimmie Allen and Brad Paisley‘s “Freedom Was a Highway” rides to the Country Airplay top 10 (11-10) 15.7 million, up 6%).

Allen, who won new artist of the year at the Country Music Association Awards Nov. 10, notches his third Country Airplay top 10, after the No. 1s “Make Me Want To,” which led the list dated March 7, 2020, and “Best Shot,” his first entry which dominated for three frames starting in November 2018.

Paisley banks his 35th Country Airplay top 10 and first since 2017, when “Today” peaked at No. 3 that March. He boasts the 11th-most top 10s since the chart launched in January 1990. Among all artists, George Strait leads with 61.

‘Job’ Well Done: John Rich & Mike Rowe’s Christmas Jingle Hits No. 1 on Country, Holiday Charts

Rich & Rowe, the pairing of John Rich and TV personality Mike Rowe, debut at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Digital Song Sales chart (dated Dec. 11) with “Santa’s Gotta Dirty Job.” The song debuts with 13,000 sold in the week ending Dec. 2, according to MRC Data.

“Those chimneys he goes climbing down ain’t exactly all that fun,” Rich and Rowe harmonize in the song. “But if he don’t do it, nobody will, so Santa’s gonna get the job done.”

Proceeds from the song, which also includes vocals from the Oak Ridge Boys, will benefit Folds of Honor, which provides scholarships to military families, and the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, which promotes apprenticeships. “[Folds of Honor] is doing amazing work with families of vets who didn’t make it back,” Rowe told Fox News. “We’re doing what we can at mikeroweWORKS, but putting this song out here … I know I speak for John, we’re both super grateful. Thank you.”

Rich, who has climbed Billboard charts since 2004 as half of Big & Rich, earns his third Country Digital Song Sales leader, following “Earth to God,” for a week in October 2020, and “Shut Up About Politics,” for a week in June 2019. The latter also has a TV tie-in, as it features The Five, a quintet of then-all-Fox News hosts.

The new single also bounds 5-1 on the all-genre Holiday Digital Song Sales chart and debuts at No. 35 on Hot Country Songs. It’s Rich and Rowe’s first leader on the Yule sales log, as well as Rowe’s first Billboard chart entry; he also enters Emerging Artists at No. 9.

The song’s title plays off two of Rowe’s best-known TV gigs: Dirty Job and Somebody’s Gotta Do It.

Tame Impala unveiled new song “No Choice” on Tuesday (Dec. 7) along with a slate of 2022 tour dates around the globe.

“It doesn’t matter if I want to go somewhere new/ At the end of the day, I have no choice/ It wouldn’t matter that I had to break it with you/ Going over it all, it brings no joy,” Kevin Parker sings on the track over a syncopated drum beat and atmospheric synths.

The track is set to be included on the upcoming deluxe box set edition of the psychedelic rocker’s 2020 album The Slow Rush, which promises to feature remixes and B-sides that didn’t make the original cut for the LP — including Lil Yachty‘s previously released remix of “Breathe Deeper” and pre-album one-off “Patience.” The box set will hit retailers and streaming platforms on Feb. 18 via Island Records Australia.

This Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Is Seasoned With A Hint Of Chicago

At this point, the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow is near as perennial as the original, persisting far longer than anyone could have anticipated. And for its upcoming run of colorways, the silhouette is to don a palette familiar to longtime fans of the Chicago Bulls.

While it’d be easy to mimic the Air Jordan 1, the Air Force 1 Shadow thankfully goes against the grain as it adjusts both the color blocking and fabrication. Through the upper, a textured suede dresses over leather, the latter of which builds out the panels underneath in black and white. The sole and tongue, then, follow the brighter neutral’s example, while the branding takes a bolder, patchwork-styled arrangement. Adjacent, the Swoosh and heel tab is far more eccentric, finished with a pebbled feel.

For a closer look, check out the official images below. A release should hit Nike.com and select retailers later in 2022.

Where To Buy The Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey” (2021)

In just a couple more days, the Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey” will return for the first time since its last appearance in 2010. And though the colorway itself has persisted through the years, it’s never looked as good as it does on Tinker Hatfield’s beloved design. In honor of its 20-year legacy, the shoe’s 2021 Retro was made to better resemble the original pair from 2001, closing out the year with what could rival the “Bred” and “Jubilee” from the years prior.

All of the Cool Grey 11s‘ beloved details are intact; even the OG shape was recreated to the best of the brand’s ability. Nubuck, still, appears throughout most of the upper, its embroidered Jumpman aiding the premium feel. Underneath the “23” markings adjacent, a darker grey dresses the soft collar, matching that of the mudguard, whose patent leather checks off yet another one of the model’s signature features. Finally, the midsole shades in white neutrals, while an icy blue finish outfits farther underfoot.

Enjoy a close-up look at the Jordan 11 Cool Grey here ahead of the upcoming December 11th release. After you check out the store list below, head over to the Cool Grey 11 Buyer’s Guide for more information on the colorway’s history.

Adele Continues Atop Billboard Artist 100, Michael Buble & The Beatles Return to Top 10

Adele keeps at No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Dec. 11), leading for a 14th total week thanks to the continued success of her latest album 30 and its lead single, “Easy on Me.”

The set spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 288,000 equivalent album units earned, according to MRC Data. It debuted with 839,000 units, earning the largest week for an album this year.

Adele also places five tracks from 30 on the Billboard Hot 100, led by “Easy on Me,” which logs a sixth week at No. 1. New single “Oh My God” ranks at No. 37.

Michael Bublé jumps from No. 17 to No. 7 on the Artist 100 thanks to gains for his LP Christmas. The album, originally released in 2011 while a new 10th anniversary edition arrived Nov. 12, dashes 9-3 on the Billboard 200 (59,000 units, up 51%). Meanwhile, the set’s opening track, his version of “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” re-enters the Hot 100 at No. 20, a new high for the song and his first career appearance in the chart’s top 20.

The Beatles bound 40-10 on the Artist 100, fueled by gains for the group’s catalog following the Nov. 25 premiere of the Disney+ documentary The Beatles Get Back. The group’s Let It Be soars 80-19 on the Billboard 200 (27,000 units, up 124%) and Abbey Road jumps 71-36 (21,000, up 59%).

Bublé and The Beatles previously hit Nos. 3 and 2 bests on the Artist 100, respectively.

Plus, Aerosmith debuts at No. 95 on the Artist 100 (which began in 2014), as the rock vets’ live album 1971: The Road Starts Here enters the Top Album Sales chart at No. 19 (12,000 sold). The set arrived as a Record Store Day Black Friday release, initially available only on vinyl and cassette.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

SB19’s ‘Bazinga’ Hits No. 1 on Weekly Hot Trending Songs Chart, KAI & Stray Kids Debut In Top 10

SB19‘s “Bazinga” jumps from No. 8 to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Dec. 11-dated weekly Hot Trending Songs chart, powered by Twitter, leading for the first time.

The song reigns with 1.5 million Twitter mentions (up 67%) in the tracking week, which ran from Friday, Nov. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 2, and earns SB19 its first No. 1 on any chart.

The latest Twitter conversation around “Bazinga,” whose official video premiered Oct. 29, follows the group’s Nov. 29 performance of the song at the 34th Awit Awards, the annual honors bestowed by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. SB19 was nominated for four awards and took home the trophy for Peoples’ Voice Favorite Song, for “Hanggang sa Huli.”

Billboard‘s Hot Trending Songs charts, powered by Twitter and sponsored Capital One, track global music-related trends and conversations in real-time across Twitter, viewable over either the last 24 hours or past seven days. A weekly, 20-position version of the chart, covering activity from Friday through Thursday of each week, posts alongside Billboard‘s other weekly charts on Billboard.com each Tuesday. The charts highlight buzz around new releases, award shows, festival moments, music nostalgia and more. Hot Trending Songs is unique in that it tracks what songs people are talking about, not necessarily what they’re listening to.

Before this week, BTS ruled the weekly iteration of Hot Trending Songs for the first six weeks of the chart’s existence, first with “Permission to Dance” (one week) and then with “Butter” (five). The septet places three songs in the latest top 10: “Butter” (No. 2), “Permission to Dance” (No. 3) and “Dynamite” (No. 9).

Stray Kids chart two songs in the weekly Hot Trending Songs top 10: “Christmas EveL” jumps 15-4 and “Winter Falls” debuts at No. 10. Both tracks appear on the group’s new EP Christmas EveL, released Nov. 29.

Plus, KAI’s “Peaches” debuts at No. 8 thanks to continued conversation following its release Nov. 30 on KAI’s new EP of the same name.

Keep visiting Billboard.com to check out the constantly evolving rankings, and check back Tuesdays for each weekly chart.
