‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Star James Snyder Fired Following Complaint About His Conduct

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child star James Snyder has been fired from the Broadway show following an independent investigation sparked by a complaint from his co-star.

Producers said Sunday (Jan. 23) that they received a complaint about Snyder, who plays Harry Potter in the show, from Diane Davis, who plays Harry’s wife, Ginny, on Nov. 19 about his “conduct.”

“Immediately upon receiving this complaint the producers commissioned an independent investigation by a third party, and Mr. Snyder was suspended pending the investigation’s completion,” they said. “At the conclusion of the investigation, the producers decided Mr. Snyder should not return to the production and terminated his contract.”

Davis has “made the personal decision to take a leave of absence. Out of respect for her privacy — and to maintain the integrity of the investigation — we will make no further comment regarding the matter.”

It’s unclear how long Davis’ leave of absence will be or the exact nature of her complaint.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Snyder’s reps for comment.

For their part, Cursed Child’s producers added: “We are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace, which is why we have robust workplace policies and procedures in place for all those involved in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This includes strict prohibitions against harassment in any form, as well as channels through which any employee can report conduct that they believe is inappropriate. We will continue to do all we can to ensure the extremely talented team that brings this production to life feels safe, empowered, and fully supported.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions, first debuted as a two-part show but was reimagined last year as a single-ticket performance.

Snyder has appeared in other Broadway productions including Cry-Baby, If/Then and In Transit. He also has appeared in episodes of The Good Wife, Rizzoli & Isles, Blue Bloods, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Drop Dead Diva, among other TV series.

This Patent Leather Nike Air Force 1 Low Features A Bust Of An Ancient Goddess

Nike, even in just their name alone, has loose ties to Greek mythology. In the past, the goddess they took inspiration from has seen her very own shoe, which has likely inspired this upcoming Air Force 1 in one way or another.

Roman mythos, though, takes the helm here; and while influenced by the Greeks in many ways, its replete with its own rich culture. A far cry from a history lesson, this Air Force 1 purely mimics the empire’s color and regal sense. The deep reds that mark their flag are used for the patent leathers overlay, which shine in place of a gold exterior. A gilded shade does at least mark the tongue, taking the shape of a what looks like an ancient goddess.

For a closer look at the Air Force 1 “Roman Empire,” take a look at the official images below.

If you’re looking for something similar, the Nike Air Huarache Bordeaux Patent cuts pretty close.

Hear Tyler, the Creator’s score for Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris

Tyler, the Creator scored a Louis Vuitton fashion show put together by the late Virgil Abloh – watch the full show from Paris this week below.

The Men’s Fall-Winter 2022 fashion show was held at the Carreau du Temple this week (January 20), and ended with Tyler making an appearance himself, riding down the catwalk on a bicycle.

READ MORE: 10 song lyrics that honour the late, great Virgil Abloh

A synopsis for the new collection said: “The 𝓛𝓸𝓾𝓲𝓼 Dreamhouse presents the Men’s Fall-Winter 2022 Collection, consolidating the themes and messages of the eight-season arc Virgil Abloh created for Louis Vuitton. Imagining a metaphysical space of possibility, the Carreau du Temple in Paris is transformed into a mind-expanding interior of ideas, prospects and encouragement.

“Through the lens of Virgil Abloh’s central Boyhood Ideology®, seeing the world with the eyes of a child, the collection transmutes the dress codes popularly tied to societal archetypes and patchworks them in new ways. Through materials and techniques, gestures of surrealism take form, abstracting the familiar and expanding our horizons.”

Watch the full show below.

Virgil Abloh died on November 28 last year after battling an aggressive form of cancer for over two years. “Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary; he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom,” said LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault in a statement confirming Abloh’s passing. Abloh had been the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear line since 2018.

The death of Abloh – who collaborated extensively with Kanye West as a creative director and also worked on visual design elements for the likes of Lil Uzi Vert and Westside Gunn – was met with an outpouring of tributes from the world of music, fashion and culture.

West dedicated an edition of his Sunday Service livestream to Abloh, with the Sunday Service Choir performing a cover of Adele‘s ‘Easy On Me’ in tribute. Others who paid tribute to Abloh included DrakeBROCKHAMPTON‘s Kevin AbstractBon Iver‘s Justin Vernon and more.

Following Abloh’s death, Tyler, the Creator shared a lengthy statement paying tribute to the designer. He wrote: “Sir Abloh was a true geek about things. Passion seeped through everything he did. Whether a random set of songs we’ve never heard or what pantone the wing of a plane should be, he always meant it.

“Sometimes, part of us sharing our wild ideas is to get approval from our peers to keep it pushing, but Virgil was ALWAYS a cheerleader. For everyone. That hand of his opened doors, lead people in and tossed the keys outside for the next person to have.”

Air Jordan 1 High “Anodized” Revealed By Dearica Marie

Lately, the Air Jordan 1 rarely ever dials up the theatrics. That’s the role the AJ1 Mid and Zoom CMFT have gone on to play. With the high-top’s latest, however, it seems to be reprising this part, dressing up near entirely in an anodized finish.

For the uninitiated, anodization utilizes an electrochemical process to effectively make a metal’s surface more durable and corrosion-resistant. It’s also used for decorative means, as the color, too, can be tweaked to a certain extent. The bright blue, almost green gradient of the upper here is but one of the possibilities, and its metallic sheen makes it appear even closer to the actual thing. Immersion is then broken, though, as the Swoosh, laces, and tread opt for a matte black.

Enjoy a quick peek at these right here. Once official images and release details surface, expect to find out here.

Gloria and Emilio Estefan Mural Unveiled in Miami

A new mural honoring Gloria and Emilio Estefan has been unveiled in Miami’s Little Havana.

Local artist Disem305 painted the giant mural depicting the power couple of Latin pop in the 1980s, when they came out with smash hits such as “Conga” and “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You.”

The artwork was unveiled at a Saturday (Jan. 22) event, attended by city officials and the couple’s son Nayib Estefan.

“My parents have always been this big to me, but it’s amazing to see them preserved in one of their finest moments in the 80s in Miami,” Nayib Estefan told WTVJ.

The giant mural is part of a local effort by the Kcull Life Foundation to partner up with local artists to improve historic neighborhoods and preserve Cuban-American culture. A well-known costume shop on the Calle Ocho donated the wall.

The foundation also recently presented another mural to salsa artist Celia Cruz, who is also Cuban.

Neve Campbell reacts to The Weeknd name-dropping her on new album

Canadian actress Neve Campbell has reacted to The Weeknd name-dropping her on his new album ‘Dawn FM’.

READ MORE: The Weeknd – ‘Dawn FM’ review: soulful star meets a new day with hope and hindsight

On the track ‘Here We Go… Again’, fellow Canadian Abel Tesfaye sings: “I loved her right, make her scream like Neve Campbell.”

Asked about the shout-out during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the Scream star said: “How crazy is that? It’s pretty crazy.

“Well at first, my publicist told me, and she was like, ‘The Weeknd,’ and I was like, ‘Wait, which weekend? Last weekend?’ I had no idea what she was talking about.”

“And then I realized, ‘Oh, the guy who played at the Super Bowl! That guy!’” she added to Corden. Fellow Canadian. How cool.”

Corden then responded: “I can only think he’ll be really disappointed if he knows that you described him as the guy from the Super Bowl, given he’s arguably one of the biggest and best-selling artists of his generation.”

The Weeknd’s fifth studio album ‘Dawn FM’ was released earlier this month (January 7), serving as the sequel to his 2020 full-length ‘After Hours’. Tesfaye has hinted that the new album might be part of a “trilogy” of albums. Fans have since gone to speculate that ‘Dawn FM’ is its second part, with a third album currently in the pipeline to complete it.

‘Dawn FM’, which The Weeknd had long been teasing before its arrival, features guest appearances from the likes of Tyler, The CreatorOneohtrix Point Never, and Lil Wayne. It also features narration from actor Jim Carrey, who praised the record as “deep and elegant” prior to its release.

NME’s four-star review of ‘Dawn FM’ said: “If ‘Dawn FM’ hints at great personal change, musically it doesn’t shake things up quite as much. This isn’t a bad thing – the album is a coherent, cool cruise through dark synth-pop, pulling its references from the ‘80s (Giorgio MoroderMichael JacksonDepeche ModeR.E.M.Talking Heads).

“Tesfaye has said he wants the album to provide a fantasy of escape and its sonics help bolster that feeling that you’ve been whisked off into a different world.”

Since the new album’s release, The Weeknd has broken a new Spotify record, dethroning Justin Bieber as the artist with the most monthly listeners on the platform.

Deon Point Reveals A Third Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 Colorway

Thanks to sneaker leakers, it was revealed this past week that Concepts was working on a collaborative Nike Air Max 1. And it wasn’t just one colorway that was revealed; a second very quickly surfaced following the first, each rife with their own share of patterns and colors. And to make things even more exciting, Deon Point himself recently shared a third and likely final pair.

The simplest of the bunch, this iteration forgoes the use of camo and lessens the bandana print. In their place, a ripstop outfits the mudguard, its surface finished in a light olive similar to that which is found in military surplus. Adjacent, a lightwash denim wraps the toe as well as the profile, while the vamp and lace unit add luxurious pops of faux cow fur and red velvet, respectively. Across the back heel, a subtle hit of paisley does take the stage, though its blends in with the graphic-heavy hits at the collar and Swoosh.

For a closer look, check out the full image below. When we hear of a release date, expect to find out here.
