Though it was reported that he was allegedly shot (and possibly even dead) yesterday evening, today (August 20), a rep for 23-year-old Quando Rondo has confirmed that the rapper was not injured in the incident that tragically killed another member of his entourage.

“Quando was involved in a shooting yesterday evening [Friday] which resulted in the untimely [end] of another young man’s life,” the official statement from his team to XXL Mag reads. “He himself didn’t sustain any injuries during the shooting and is safe.”

The associate who lost his life in yesterday’s shooting was reportedly 23-year-old Lul Pab. A video has been circulating online that shows the Georgia-born “ABG” rapper screaming in distress as authorities carry what we presume is his friend’s body out of his black Escalade, clearly distraught by the traumatic situation.

It’s been said that Tyquian Terrel Bowman and his friends were fueling up at a gas station when a white vehicle carrying three men pulled up and began shooting. Quando’s Escalade drove off, ending up near the intersection of Santa Monica and San Vicente in West Hollywood.

A call for help was received by law enforcement around 5:30 PM. Upon arrival, authorities rushed Lul Pab to hospital, where the young man was unfortunately pronounced dead.

“We don’t know why or how this happened, all we know is that the victim’s vehicle, they pulled up, they were pumping gas and it looks like they probably finished pumping gas and the suspects approached from the alley, got out of the car and started shooting at those victims,” Lt. John Radke of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

A few days ago, explosive new details surfaced about the infamous fight between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt from back in 2016. According to Jolie, Pitt was drunk and “caused approximately $25K in damages” on a private jet. She alleged that Pitt shook and pushed her, resulting in multiple bruises.

According to a friend of the Pitt’s, the FBI is not expected to reopen the investigation into the alleged altercation. “The statute of limitations is way gone and they have seen all the information at hand,” said the source to Page Six. “There is nothing new here. At the time they considered all of Angelina’s allegations and didn’t bring any charges.”

The source then claimed that the resurfacing of the fight is “a concerted effort to smear Brad.” “The FBI investigated the incident thoroughly, there is zero chance of them reopening the case,” they continued.

Jolie had claimed that the altercation on the private jet in 2016 had left her children incredibly upset. According to the Maleficent actor, Pitt screamed, “You’re f**king up this family,” and proceeded to say one of their children was like a “f**king Columbine kid.”

Pitt’s friend, however, doubts the veracity of this rendition. “Angelina’s claims were raised in at least two different legal contexts: the incident on the plane and then again during a lengthy custody trial,” they said. “In one case, there were no charges brought and in another, Brad was granted 50/50 custody.” The two actors are officially divorced, but their custody dispute continues to drag on.

Johnny Depp has been riding high since his victory over Amber Heard in their much-publicized defamation suit. The Edward Scissorhands actor has been working on new music, directing his first feature in over two decades, and maybe even reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Now the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory star might be planting his flag at the MTV VMAs this year. According to TMZ, Depp is in talks to make a surprise appearance at the award show.

Apparently, the production team at the VMAs are discussing having the Sweeney Todd thespian dress up as MTV’s mascot, the Moonperson. Few other details have been released about the appearance, perhaps because the show’s producers are hoping to have his reveal be a shock to audiences.

This may be the first time Johnny Depp has played the Moonperson, but he’s no stranger to the award show. Over the years, the Rum Diary performer has raked in Moonpeople, including for Best Male Performance, Global Superstar, Best Villain, and the Generation Award in 2012.

Despite public opinion swaying back in his favor, Depp’s legal woes may not be totally in the rear view. Amber Heard is gearing up to appeal the defamation decision, having revamped her legal team for a new fight. Depp, meanwhile, had celebrated the verdict all over social media. “False, very serious and criminal allegations were levied at me via the media, which triggered an endless barrage of hateful content, although no charges were ever brought against me … And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled,” wrote the Mortdecai actor.

Amber Heard responded with her own statement. “I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband,” she wrote. “I’m even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”

Boldy James has a long history of working with talented producers. The rapper routinely works with Alchemist, and in June said he was preparing to release a J Dilla-produced record.

Now, James has joined forces with Nicholas Craven. Craven’s worked with James a few times before, as well as having collabed with names like Westside Gunn, Benny the Butcher, and Roc Marciano. On “Power Nap,” James and Craven deliver a low-key track with darker undertones.

Craven’s production is reminiscent of other instrumentals Boldy is known to appear on. It’s little more than a cut-up soul sample, with a voice crooning “Go to sleep” over a twinkling electric piano and guitar. While the single has the sound of a lullaby, James speaks of a more eternal sleep. “Stick look like a sway bar, got big AR with the Ferris wheel / Wake your whole hood up, let that Drake sing you a lullaby,” he says in the opening of the song.
