Plenty of hip-hop legends have returned with new music in the last month of 2022, but this weekend specifically, we’ve been hearing a lot from some of the younger names in the game. Previously today we recommended 20-year-old PGF Nuk’s “Sko” single. Now, we’re finally sharing 19-year-old BabyK Osama’s latest EP for your consideration.
BabyK3 initially landed on Wednesday (December 14). It was preceded by singles like “No Attempts” with Anti Da Menace as well as “All fa da Fame.” Additionally, the Jacksonville native gave fans a music video for the fourth title, “Raq,” along with his release.
The 13-track project boasts two other guest features. One comes from Backstreet TK on “Keep Counting,” and the other from 7milekory on “Kall My Cousin.”
Aside from those, Osama keeps things rolling by himself on titles like “Limbo,” “Last Minute,” and “2AM IN HOUSTON.”
Thus far, “I Miss You” has emerged as a standout track. As he rhymes, BabyK markedly mourns the loss of a fallen friend. Behind him, listeners hear “a brooding, bluesy instrumental carried by a sorrowful bass and whining keyboard.”
In the past, the rising rapper has earned co-signs from names like Yungeen Ace, Jdot Breezy, and GMK. Seeing as his new EP finds him exploring new sonic textures and expanding lyrically, it’s likely that list will only continue to grow.
His own personal influences include Kodak Black and Lil Durk, though he grew up on names like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar.

Even when industry business gets in the way, it’s always great to see an artist deliver to fans despite the hiccups. NoCap did just that and released The Main Bird, a seven-track mixtape. Moreover, it was originally going to contain 16 songs, but ran into sample clearance issues. While those get sorted out, the Alabama rapper’s dropped more introspective melodic cuts and a few bangers to even his style out. Also, the track comes just days after his melodic feature on Monaleo’s “Miss U Already.”

While the 24-year-old is known to often get into those tuneful styles, he balances it out with some heat. Moreover, he recruited Rob49 and Rylo Rodriguez for some guest verses on the album. Rob delivers some aggressive energy over the Wheezy-produced “How It’s Going.” Meanwhile, Rylo dials things back on “Tight End” with some auto-tuned croons. However, NoCap remains the star of the show, and he kept up fast momentum after this year’s Mr. Crawford with the single “DNA.”
Although NoCap’s continued to build that success, it’s also resulted in some cut ties. He beefed with NBA YoungBoy recently via Instagram shots after YoungBoy wrote he doesn’t mess with him anymore. Later, NoCap called YB a “hater.”
“Let me know what I owe you,” he wrote in a message to the Louisiana rapper. “I don’t recall you giving s**t. I took the blame for why we don’t do music because I was trying to keep your hater card clean. But nah we really don’t do music because he probably scared I’ll be bigger on some baby s**t.” If The Main Bird and KnowCap are any indication, it looks like he’ll continue to make his own mark.

The relationship that resulted in Summer Walker’s first pregnancy was anything but easy for her (though it did give us the vulnerable body of work that is Still Over It). She was undeniably public with her struggles the first time around. Due to this, fans were rooting for the singer to experience a fairytale when she revealed that she was with child once again.
Initially, it looked as though the Atlanta native had met her match in the equally goofy Larry. She provided fans with plenty of exciting updates early on. Additionally, she even channelled her inner Rihanna by performing in some sultry maternity outfits.

However, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse in recent months. As her pregnancy nears its end, Walker revealed via social media in November that she’s single again. At the time she had nothing bad to say about her ex. What she did specifically mention is that she refuses to tolerate certain things in a relationship.
In the following days, the “No Love” songstress proved that she and Larry are still friends on Instagram. In the clip, she tells her unborn child’s father to consider joining OnlyFans after seemingly getting a DM soliciting him for X-rated activities.
Since then, she’s kept relatively quiet in regard to her love life. However, she has been sharing stunning maternity photos that have Walker’s 4.9 million followers praising her beauty.
Her official due date remains unknown, but it seems that Erykah Badu may have given us a hint that the baby’s coming soon on her own IG page. As you may recall, the industry legend was present when the Over It artist gave birth for the first time a few years ago.
“Peace peace… MEET THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE,” the Dallas native wrote earlier this weekend. “Mother – Daughter DOULA duty. Today I am training a very capable doula who is shadowing me while we assist a mommy in labor with twins.”
Additionally, Badu said, “@pumacurry I’m so proud of [you] and I really really like you. A doula must be like water. Follow your instincts. – Mama Badoula – (We are listening to alpha wave [frequencies] on noise cancellation.”
Seeing as Walker has since posted selfies with her dear friends on her Story, it’s all but officially confirmed we’ll have two new celebrity babies to adore very soon.

Authorities arrested Amar’e Stoudemire the night of December 17th for allegedly punching his daughter in the jaw and slapping her several times. Police charged the former NBA player with battery and stated that the incident came from an argument between Stoudemire’s daughter and her grandmother. Moreover, officers reported that his daughter was “giving attitude” when he struck her. Officers set his bail at $1,500. Also, this happened just hours after Stoudemire posted that he received his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Miami. He celebrated his 40th birthday mere weeks ago.

According to police reports, the former basketball star’s daughter told them that her father struck her hard enough to draw blood. However, it’s unclear whether this was his 17-year-old daughter or his 14-year-old daughter. An officer working the case wrote “I observed blood stains on the victim’s sweater and sweatpants” on the arrest report.
“The mother of the victim, Alexis Welch,” they continued, “showed me the photo she received from her daughter, which shows the victim crying and blood running down her face.”
Welch told authorities that after her daughter sent her a picture, she rushed to get her and her two sons. Also, Stoudemire allegedly asked Welch to pick their daughter up because she was “being disrespectful.”
Reportedly, at around 8pm on Saturday (December 17th), the grandmother called Stoudemire’s daughter. She responded, “What?” Then, her father “rushed inside her room and asked her why she was giving attitude.” Later, his daughter said she wasn’t having a tone, and she said her father told her “You’re talking back again.” The daughter reported that the 40-year-old then struck her.
Meanwhile, the UM graduate said that his daughter called Welch to pick her up. She was sad “because she received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar.” When authorities arrived on the scene, they saw bloodstains and arrested Stoudemire for punching his daughter. His bond is set at $1,500.

Gorillaz took over New York’s Times Square and London’s Piccadilly Circus for two augmented reality (AR) shows in celebration of new single ‘Skinny Ape‘ this weekend- check out fan-shot footage below.

The animated band announced the concerts earlier this month (December 8) with fans needing to download a special app to view the AR performance, which combined real world and computer generated imagery.
According to a press release, the shows would allow fans to gather together to witness Gorillaz “play in real life as Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel literally tower over them, playing in the midst of two of the world’s most iconic skylines.”
The performances were directed by Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett and the Emmy nominated director Fx Goby, and created by Nexus Studios which utilised Google’s ARCore Geospatial API, which uses Google Street View to build AR content in 86 different countries.

Ahead of the performance, Murdoc said: “To all our followers, get ready for the biggest Times Square takeover since that other gorilla smashed the place up. Bigger in fact cos there’s four of us. Thanks to the techies at Google, we’ve created the music video event of the century, so don your pink robes and come see Gorillaz like you’ve never seen us before. The future is nigh!”

Fans have until June 2023 to visit Times Square or Piccadilly Circus to view Gorillaz’ AR performance. Alternatively, people can view the gig from the comfort of their own home as Gorillaz come to them, via the App which can be downloaded for iOS or Android.
Gorillaz are currently gearing up to release their eighth studio album, with ‘Cracker Island’ coming February 24, 2023.
The band have already shared four singles from the record including ‘Baby Queen’, ‘New Gold’ and ‘Possession Island’. The record features appearances from Stevie Nicks, Adeleye Omotayo, Thundercat, Tame Impala, Bad Bunny, Bootie Brown and Beck.
However according to Damon Albarn, Gorillaz‘ collaboration with Nicks was originally meant to be sung by Julian Casablancas.
Albarn went on to say that collaborative projects have become “somewhat generic” of late, adding: “So this [song with Nicks] is the antithesis of that. This non-generic collaboration.”
