He was once just a controversial social media figure, but these days, Andrew Tate is fighting for his freedom. We’ve continuously reported on the developing case again Tate, his brother, Tristan, and two assistants. The group was recently arrested in Romania on charges of human trafficking, sex trafficking, and rape. It is alleged that the Tate brothers held at least six women hostage and forced them to perform sex acts for pornographic online content.

Andrew Tate is being held for 30 days in jail as investigators dig into the case. “The four suspects … appear to have created an organised crime group,” said prosecutors. “With the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost.”

Reports state that several women, including a 22-year-old American, were branded with tattoos. The permanent ink is alleged to read “Owned By Tate” and was placed in areas that could clearly be seen during their pornographic videos.

There have also been claims that the women weren’t allowed to leave the location where they were housed. An alleged victim, a British woman, reportedly spoke with Vice News about what she endured. She told the outlet that Andrew Tate abused her “at least five times.”

“As soon as he handed me my money, I forgot about him hitting me and everything else,” she reportedly added. “It just got worse over time. He got more verbally abusive, more physical.”

The alleged victim also brought up prior allegations of sexual assault against Tate.

“I have been very frustrated by the British police and court system for a long time,” she said. “They could have stopped him from doing the exact same abuse to these women in Romania .”

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers were eliminated from playoff contention last night. It was certainly a rough go for Packers fans, as they lost by four points to the Detroit Lions. They needed to win to get in, however, Rodgers ended up coming short after a lackluster performance.

As a whole, this season was not kind to Rodgers. He struggled with his rookie receivers at the start of the year, and by the time they got chemistry, it was just a bit too late. Overall, it was a bad way to end the season, especially after being a perennial threat to win the Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers Retiring?

Just like in seasons past, Rodgers is now hinting at retirement. He typically does this whenever he is eliminated from the playoffs. However, now he is doing it after not making the playoffs, entirely. In the clip below, courtesy of TMZ Sports, you can see exactly what Rodgers had to say after his team lost to the Lions. Overall, he sounds pretty dejected.

“At some point the carousel comes to a stop and it’s time to get off,” Rodgers said. “I feel good about what I’ve accomplished in this league and wouldn’t have any regrets walking away. But I gotta see what it feels like once I get away from this.”

Rodgers had signed an extension last summer after indicating that he wanted to be traded. Clearly, Rodgers was just saying that for leverage, and it ultimately worked in his favor. Now, however, it is truly up in the air as to whether or not he will ever return.

His trial may be over, but the second phase of the case against Tory Lanez is just heating up. During the holiday season, Lanez was found guilty on three counts related to the July 2020 of Megan Thee Stallion. He denied culpability in the case; however, Megan testified that she watched as her former friend shot at her during an angry outburst.

It was recently reported that Lanez switched up his legal team and got rid of attorney George Mgdesyan. Law & Crime reporter Meghan Cuniff has steadily shared updates about Lanez’s case, and yesterday (January 8), she tweeted the rapper hired David Kenner. He has famously represented both Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight.

Meanwhile, following the conclusion of the case, Mgdesyan has faced backlash. The attorney’s methods were criticized, including closing arguments about the singer not being tall enough to shoot over the vehicle door at Megan.

Rolling Stone senior reporter Nancy Dillon has also tracked this case and issued a statement from Mgdesyan. The lawyer refutes claims that he’s exiting Lanez’s legal teams on bad terms.

“I don’t do appeals, so we had to get somebody on board to handle the appeal,” said Mgdesyan.

Additionally, Mgdesyan added he “may still attend” Lanez’s sentencing hearing on January 27, “if possible.”

He shared, “As a party who represented Tory and is friends with Tory, I have an interest.”

This case continues to divide the Hip Hop community. Lanez’s avid supporters stand by his innocence, while Megan’s fans believe the right person is behind bars.

Third Man Records have announced plans to release an expanded 20th anniversary reissue of The White Stripes‘ seminal 2003 album ‘Elephant’.

Entitled ‘Elephant XX’, the package includes a new mono remix of the entire record on red and white LPs, a red glitter 7 inch with Jack White‘s original solo demos of fan favourite ‘Hypnotize’, a DVD with never-before-seen footage from the era, and a 28-page booklet of previously-unshared photos, all housed in a custom slipcase.

Mixed by White and Bill Skibbe at Third Man Studio in Nashville, the mono remix was executed on the same Calrec board used to complete the original stereo mix of ‘Elephant’ at Toe Rag Studios in London back in 2002, according to a press release. You can view a trailer and artwork below.

‘Elephant XX’ is the 55th instalment of Third Man Records’ Vault subscription series. You can sign up to order it here now until January 31.

Tying it all together is a 28-page 12 inch x 12 inch booklet full of previously unshared photos from the ‘Elephant’ album cover shoot, candid backstage pics, handwritten lyrics, concert posters and proposed/abandoned tracklists.

‘Elephant’ spawned the the duo’s iconic single ‘Seven Nation Army’ and Dusty Springfield cover ‘I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself’ along with ‘Black Math’, ‘Ball And Biscuit’ and ‘The Hardest Button To Button’.

Meanwhile, Jack White is set to appear on American Pickers again this week, refurbishing a mobile recording truck.

The History Channel show sees two men – Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz – travel across the United States and “scour the country’s junkyards, basements and barns for hidden gems”.

In 2012, White appeared on the show and bartered for an elephant’s head and attempted to sell a photobooth and jukebox to the show’s hosts at his Third Man Records studio in Nashville.

On Wednesday (January 11), he will appear on the show for a second time in an attempt to refurbish a mobile recording truck that he owns, once again seeing the hosts head to Third Man HQ.

Daughter have announced new album ‘Stereo Mind Game’ and shared lead single ‘Be On Your Way’ – listen below.

The trio – comprising Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella – will release their first album in seven years on April 7, 2023, following 2016’s ‘Not To Disappear’ and soundtrack music from 2017 video game Life Is Strange: Before The Storm. Tonra’s debut solo album ‘Ex:Re’ also came out in 2018.

The first taste of the new record arrives today in the shape of pensive, atmospheric lead single ‘Be On Your Own Way’, accompanied by a video created by Tiff Pritchett.

According to a press release, the song is about an “enduring connection that is also indefinable”, while their new record is set to be their “most optimistic record yet”.

It continued: “The romantic figure [Elena] Tonra addresses in the song is someone she met in California while writing the record. They shared a significant connection but she knew the Atlantic lay between them.”

The release also explained that the music video “evokes a collection of memories”, which includes footage of Tonra “superimposed with images of beautiful passing moments”.

It also described ‘Be On Your Way’ as, “not a loss of hope but a confidence in and acceptance of the passage of time”, while “connection and disconnection” is found throughout ‘Stereo Mind Games’, both “literally and figuratively”.

The band has since dispersed from their London base, with Aguilella relocating to Portland, Oregon, and Haefeli to Bristol in the UK, but the album was written and recorded in Bristol, London, San Diego, California and Vancouver, Washington.

For the first time Tonra will also be accompanied on the album’s vocals, with Haefeli contributing to ‘Future Lover’ and ‘Swim Back’, while a choir features on ‘Neptune’.

London-based string orchestra, 12 Ensemble, also feature throughout the album, with orchestration by Josephine Stephenson – both of which worked on a reinterpretation of  Tonra’s ‘Ex:Re’.

“It’s about not working in absolutes,” Haefeli said of the new collaborations in a press release.

Echoing the most standout features of its low-top counterpart, this newly-revealed Dunk High starts with a simple, understated colorway. Greys are applied to the leather overlays and white the underlying base, both contrasting the cool tones that highlight the patchworked features adjacent. These, from the Swoosh to the three instances of Nike logos, are done up in two different hues: on one side, a deep navy; on the other, a light, sky blue.
