Miky Woodz (real name: Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Rivera) has signed a record deal with Rimas Entertainment, Billboard can exclusively announce today (Oct. 19).

Woodz, a former Billboard Latin Artist on the Rise, was approached by Rimas’ co-founder Noah Assad, who expressed respect and an interest in working together. “The most important thing is that they not only like and respect my work but are committed and clear about what my career needs right now,” he tells Billboard. “That’s why I decided to sign with them.”

On the Billboard charts, the Puerto Rican artist has placed four of his albums in Top Latin Albums, two of which hit the top 10: El OG in 2018 and 90 Piketes in 2020.

“I feel honored to have the OG as part of the Rimas family, he is a unique artist that many people love and that the genre respects,” Assad said in an official statement. “I’m excited to work with him in this new chapter.”

With his new signing, Woodz is most excited about new opportunities and his new team.

“I created a large and organic fan base, real fans support my product, I worked to raise the value of my career and to reach this level,” he elaborates. “Now my team will be in charge of continuing to add to it for the better so that my career continues to grow and reach the next level.”

He also promises a lot of “important projects” under Rimas. “My vision goes beyond that,” he notes. “My mission is to continue expanding my movement both in music and in different facets.”
