TWICE have unveiled a preview of their upcoming single ‘Scientist’, from their third full-length album ‘Formula Of Love: O+T=<3’.

The K-pop girl group uploaded a teaser of the forthcoming song on TikTok, alongside a playful video where the members transform into “scientists” as the song plays in the background.

Alongside the teaser, TWICE also released a series of new images of the nine-member group on Twitter. ‘Formula Of Love: O+T=<3’ is set to arrive on November 12 at 2pm KST/12am EST.

Aside from ‘Scientist’, ‘Formula Of Love: O+T=<3’ will also feature 13 other brand-new songs from the K-pop girl group. In addition, the physical edition of the album will include a Korean version of their English single ‘The Feels’. Meanwhile, the digital version of the release will feature a remix of ‘Scientist’ by Moroccan-Dutch DJ R3HAB, alongside the English-language recording of ‘The Feels’.

Last month, the girl group dropped an exciting “opening trailer” for ‘Formula Of Love: O+T=<3’. The minute-long video features the members of TWICE as scientists researching the nature of love in the “TWICE Love Lab”, with each member explaining the basis of their “love experiment” in robotic voices.

Although she was featured in the teaser clip of ‘Scientist’, it is currently unknown if member Jeongyeon, who was notably absent from the album’s “opening trailer”, will be involved in promotional activities for ‘Formula Of Love: O+T=<3’. The vocalist has been on hiatus from group activities since August, due symptoms of “panic and psychological anxiety”.

Watch Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s video for new Silk Sonic single ‘Smokin Out the Window’

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have shared a new single as Silk Sonic, ‘Smokin Out the Window’.

Following on from ‘Leave the Door Open’ and ‘Skate’, it’s the third song to be released from the duo’s debut collaborative album, ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’, ahead of its arrival next week.

You got me smokin’ out the window, singin’ how could you do this to me?” Mars croons on the characteristically soulful cut. “I thought that girl belonged to only me / But I was wrong, ’cause she belong to everybody.

The new song arrives alongside an accompanying video directed by Mars himself along with John Esparza, which sees the duo and their backing band performing on a glitzy, retro stage. Watch that below:

Last month, Mars and Anderson confirmed that their debut album will be released on November 12, after having previously suggested it wouldn’t arrive until early next year. The album will mark Mars’ first since 2016’s ’24K Magic’, and Anderson’s first since 2019’s ‘Ventura’.

The duo met in 2016, when Anderson supported Mars during the European leg of the latter’s ’24K Magic’ album tour. Speaking to Rolling Stone earlier this year, the pair revealed they were in the studio just one week later.

After releasing ‘Leave the Door Open’ in March, the duo gave their first live performance as Silk Sonic the same month at this year’s Grammys. They followed it up with the release of ‘Skate’ in July.

Travis Scott releases new songs ‘Escape Plan’ and ‘Mafia’

Travis Scott has released two new tracks, ‘Escape Plan’ and ‘Mafia’, marking his first solo releases for the year.

The rapper said that new music was imminent in a post on social media yesterday (November 4), which was accompanied by an image of fictional magazine Weekly World Truths. Scott had also premiered ‘Escape Plan’ at Rolling Loud Miami back in July.

Listen to the two tracks below:

The new music arrives a day before Scott is due to hold his Astroworld festival in Texas over the weekend. Tame Impala, Earth Wind & Fire, SZA and Young Thug, among others, are locked in to perform at the festival, which will run between 5-6 November.

Scott is expected to release his new album ‘Utopia’ sometime this year. Back in September, he said that the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Astroworld’ would focus on what he believes to be the key components of a utopian state: “medicine, nursing, being a better person, talking, language, communication.”

READ MORE: Travis Scott – ‘Astroworld’ review

“You think utopia is a society where everything is good: health, buildings, architecture – nah,” the rapper explained in an interview with CR Men. “It’s just about proper lines of communication.”

In August, Scott’s Cactus Jack Films inked a production deal with renowned film company A24, known for Moonlight, Lady Bird, Midsommar and more. The two companies are expected to work on a project related to the forthcoming album.

This year alone, Scott has also collaborated with Baby Keem, Kanye West, Drake and Young Thug.

Post Malone Delivers ‘One Right Now’ Featuring The Weeknd: Stream It Now

Posty’s delivering, and he’s brought a new sound.

Four months after dishing up another taste of new tunes, Post Malone drops “One Right Now,” his first-ever team-up with The Weeknd.

Opening with The Weeknd’s vocals over a synthwave bassline, “One Right Now” is a break-up song gone nuclear. Musically, it’s a shift away from atmospheric hip-hop and into the retro-electro planet that Abel Tesfaye operates in.

The song was teased by both artists earlier this week, and is rumored to be the first lifted from Malone’s forthcoming fourth album.

Posty’s last LP was 2019’s Billboard 200 leader Hollywood’s Bleeding, though he has been doing the rounds on an irregular basis.

In those past two years, he’s dropped a string of new numbers, including 2020’s Pokemon tie-in “Only Wanna Be with You,” and his most recent cut, “Motley Crew,” from July of this year.

The Weeknd has been like Magic Johnson of late, dishing out assists left and right. The in-demand Canadian R&B artist has appeared on Swedish House Mafia’s comeback track “Moth to a Flame;” on “Hurricane” with Kanye West and Lil Baby; and “Off the Table” with Ariana Grande.

Watch Holly Humberstone strip down ‘Scarlett’ with Ruel

Holly Humberstone and Ruel have united to deliver a stripped-back, “emotional grim reaper” version of Humberstone’s recent single ‘Scarlett’.

READ MORE: Holly Humberstone: haunting synth-pop to soundtrack coming-of-age anxiety

Filmed at the Roxy in Los Angeles (presumably before Humberstone took the stage at the venue for a headline show on October 7), the new rendition eschews the soaring synth-pop of the original.

Instead, Humberstone plays a subdued electric guitar arrangement while both singers trade verses, duetting on the track’s emotive chorus. Watch the new version below:

Humberstone released the original version of ‘Scarlett’ in September, describing it as “a fuck you to the guy that was going out with my closest friend”. It arrived alongside a video that featured Humberstone along with the titular friend.

‘Scarlett’ marked the fourth single to be released from the singer’s forthcoming EP, ‘The Walls Are Way Too Thin’. The EP has also been previewed with ‘Haunted House’, its title track and ‘Please Don’t Leave Just Yet’, which was written with The 1975‘s Matty Healy and debuted live at Tramlines in July.

‘The Walls Are Way Too Thin’ was initially due to arrive today (November 5), but its release date was recently pushed back to next Friday (November 12). When it does arrive, it will follow up Humberstone’s 2020 EP ‘Falling Asleep at the Wheel’.

Speaking to NME at Reading Festival back in August, Humberstone discussed working towards her debut album, saying she thinks it’ll be a “while” before it arrives.

“I’ve had loads of time now to just experiment and try different things out, and to have fun with my writing without the pressure,” Humberstone explained.

“I have loads of music that I’m so excited about – but I don’t think I’ll ever feel like it’s finished as I get bored of my work quite quickly. At some point, I’ll just have to be like, ‘That’s it. I’m just putting it out,’ and then I can forget about it and start on the next new thing.”

BTS fans threaten to boycott HYBE over plans to launch NFT content

Fans of BTS have threatened to boycott HYBE, the K-pop boyband’s label, over its plans to launch Non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

READ MORE: Eight K-pop songs from October 2021 you need to hear, from IU to SEVENTEEN

Yesterday (November 4), the South Korean entertainment giant announced plans to partner with fintech company Dunamu to launch a new NFT-focused venture that would use IP-based on its artists, such as BTS and TXT, to create digital assets. One specific example used by HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk was photocards, collectable cards featuring images of K-pop idols.

“We’re working with Dunamu to create a way to expand the fan experience more diversely and securely, such as digitally authenticating the uniqueness of these photocards and making them permanent, but also allowing them to be collected, exchanged and displayed in a global fan community platform like Weverse,” Bang said during the “HYBE briefing”.

However, BTS fans (known as ARMY) have since criticised HYBE for its plans to launch NFTs, with many citing the potential negative impact the digital asset has on the environment. ARMYs also noted how the company’s NFT plans could be seen as contradictory to the boyband’s recent speech at the UN, where they described climate change as “an important problem”.

Following HYBE’s announcement, BTS fans have also trended the hashtags “#BoycottHybeNFT” and “#ARMYsAgainstNFT” to voice their displeasure over the company’s plans. Some fans have even gone as far as to cancel orders of merchandise from the company over the news.

All I know is that this goes against in everything BTS have spoken about on their platform at the UN. #BoycottHybeNFT #ARMYsAgainstNFT pic.twitter.com/GzPusOrEfA

— BTSWorldWideRecordBreaker⁷ (@Jikookminie13) November 4, 2021

NFTs are extremely HARMFUL to the ENVIRONMENT. ARMYs believe in music not DESTROYING the environment. Oh HYBE go buy a brain.#ARMYsAgainstNFT#BoycottHybeNFT pic.twitter.com/RxpMNFGH0m

— Sarah (@jiminwife_sarah) November 5, 2021

This just really disappointing for ARMY. HYBE just keeps showing us how money hungry they are, Focus on the artists and their music!!! This is really sad, I just hope the members don’t get criticized for their company’s lack of moral. #BoycottHybeNFT#ARMYsAgainstNFT pic.twitter.com/U5hoiVgm5P

— Lili (@Lili_bl8) November 4, 2021

Neither HYBE nor Dunamu has responded to the controversy at the time of writing.

Earlier this year, a group of BTS fans worked with the Korean Federation for Environmental Movement to build a grove of four zelkova trees and about 1,200 bridal-wealth trees in the Han River Park. Located in the South Korean capital city of Seoul, the ‘Forest V No 1’ is dedicated to member V.

Han River Park is also home to two plots of forestation that had previously been planted by fellow BTS fans in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Both plots were created in celebration of BTS leader RM‘s birthday.

Travis Scott Drops ‘Escape Plan,’ ‘Mafia’ Ahead of Astroworld Headline Concert

Travis Scott has unleashed the Bat Boy.

On the eve of his headlining performance at Astroworld, the Houston native drops a two-pack of new tracks, “Escape Plan” and “Mafia.”

The fresh cuts are emblazoned with a mockup of the bizarre (and totally bullshit) Bat Boy from the Weekly World News tabloid.

Scott’s Bat Boy, however, is wearing dreads, has a stud in his ear, and appears on the bogus masthead Weekly World Truths.

The artwork screams “The true dystopia is here,” “When the end arrives its really the beginning,” and “Who knows what lies beneath the surface?”

The tracks are said to be lifted from Dystopia, a third solo mixtape, which would be followed by Utopia, a studio album. Rumors are swirling on both releases, though cold, hard details remain unconfirmed.

As previously reported, Scott’s Friday night (Nov. 5) show at Astroworld will exclusively stream on Apple Music. The festival bears the name of his third and most recent album, Astroworld, which bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2018.

ABBA Shares First Album In 40 Years, ‘Voyage’: Stream It Now

The voyage continues, as a reunited ABBA drops its first album of new material in almost forty years.

Early Friday (Nov. 5), the Swedish pop superstar’s new album Voyage docked, ending a decades-long drought that has been described as the “greatest reunion in pop,” without so much as a whiff of hyperbole.

Some call it a musical miracle, and just in time for Christmas.

When Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad went their separate ways in the early ‘80s, only the most determined of fans held out hope for new music.

That moment would come to pass in September, when ABBA dropped the two-pack of “Don’t Shut Me Down,” and “I Still Have Faith In You,” the first of which cracked the U.K. Top 10 (debuting at No. 9). Last month, the foursome released a third fresh tune, “Just A Notion,” a classic ABBA track that was penned during their heyday in the late ‘70s.

All three of those numbers appear on Voyage, the followup to The Visitors, from November 1981.

ABBA will support their new works with a virtual residency in 2022. ABBA Voyage will feature the Super Swedes as digital versions of their younger selves, performing in a purpose-built 3,000-capacity arena in London.

Don’t hold your breath for a followup album. “This is it,” Andersson tells The Guardian’s Alexis Petridis. Ulvaeus adds, “I never said myself that ABBA was never going to happen again. But I can tell you now: this is it.”

Rihanna announces vinyl reissues of all eight studio albums

Rihanna has unveiled limited edition vinyl reissues for all eight of her studio albums as part of a new drop dubbed the ‘Rih-issue’ series.

READ MORE: Rihanna: every album ranked and rated

Beginning with 2005’s ‘Music of the Sun’ and leading up to 2016’s ‘Anti’, each album comes in a unique vinyl colourway, and is bundled with either a shirt or hoodie that visually corresponds with the respective LP. Pre-orders are available here.

The singer announced the series on social media alongside a video demonstrating the different colour of each reissue. Watch that below:

pre-order now at https://t.co/hseweBVnhT pic.twitter.com/zi9rTnnOCB

— Rihanna (@rihanna) November 4, 2021

Rihanna previously reissued her eight albums in 2016, when she released a 15-LP vinyl box set. It marked the first time ‘Music of the Sun’, 2009’s ‘Rated R’, 2010’s ‘Loud’, 2011’s ‘Talk That Talk’ and 2012’s ‘Unapologetic’ were available on vinyl.

Back in September, Rihanna told fans to expect a different sound from the singer when she releases her long-awaited ninth album – details of which are still relatively elusive.

“You’re not gonna expect what you hear, just put that in your mind. Whatever you know of Rihanna’s not gonna be what you hear,” the singer told Associated Press while promoting her latest Savage X Fenty show.

“I’m really experimenting, and music is like fashion, you should be able to play, I should be able to wear whatever I want and I treat music the same way. So, I’m having fun, and it’s going to be completely different,” she explained.

Since releasing ‘Anti’ back in 2016, Rihanna has featured on numerous other artists’ songs, teaming up with Kendrick Lamar on ‘Loyalty’ and N.E.R.D. on ‘Lemon’ in 2017, and joining PartyNextDoor on last year’s ‘Believe It’.

Harry Styles helps fan come out to mum during concert

Harry Styles helped a young fan come out to their mother during a concert earlier this week.

As reported by Consequence, during his concert in Milwaukee on Wednesday (November 3), Styles spotted a sign from a fan that read, “My mom is in Section 201. Help me come out??” After locating mum Lisa in section 201 of the venue, Styles ran back and forth across the stage asking if the signholder wanted to do the honours, or if he should.

Finally, he went back over to Lisa’s side of the stage and declared “Lisa, she’s gay!”, followed by huge applause. Watch footage of the moment below:

Earlier on in his tour, he helped a fan in Nashville reveal the gender of their baby. The fan had come with a poster that read “I’m having a baby. Please make it your business…”.

“[It’s] a little baby girl,” he revealed, at which point the audience erupted with cheers.

NME gave ‘Fine Line’ four stars upon its release, writing “the former One Directioner has come good on his early promise, letting loose on a fun, funk-inspired album”.

Last month, the singer was reported to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing the role of Thanos’ brother Eros in future films.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo cast as main roles in film adaptation of ‘Wicked’

Ariana Grande is set to defy gravity in the forthcoming Universal film adaptation of the hugely successful Broadway musical Wicked, with the singer revealing she’s been cast as Glinda the Good Witch.

READ MORE: Cynthia Erivo: “Aretha Franklin is part of the tapestry of my voice”

In a post on Instagram, Grande revealed her casting by sharing flowers and a message sent by co-star Cynthia Erivo, who is on board to play the musical’s main role of Elphaba.

“‘Pink Goes Good With Green’,” the message from Erivo read. “Congratulations Miss A, The Part Was Made For You, I Look Forward To Sharing This Musical Journey With You.”

Grande also sent Erivo a message and her own set of flowers, as the actress shared on her Instagram profile.

“Dear Cynthia, honored doesn’t even begin to cover it,” Ariana wrote in the message. “I cannot wait to hug you. See you in Oz.”

Both Grande and Erivo shared screenshots of video calls between the two, and the film’s director Jon M. Chu, who recently helmed the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical In The Heights.

Grande was long considered for the role, with the Broadway musical’s composer Stephen Schwartz saying as far back as 2019 that organisers would “be fools” not to “seriously consider” her for the part.

The ‘Positions’ singer has previously called the part of Glinda her dream role, with fans unearthing a nearly decade-old tweet of hers after seeing the musical on stage.

“Loved seeing Wicked again… amazing production!” Grande tweeted back in 2011.

“Made me realize again how badly I want 2 play Glinda at some point in my life! #DreamRole”

Loved seeing Wicked again… amazing production! Made me realize again how badly I want 2 play Glinda at some point in my life! #DreamRole

— Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) December 2, 2011

The adaptation has been in the works for over a decade, and no release date has been set. Stephen Daldry had originally signed on to direct the film, but had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts, according to Variety.

Grande, who made her Broadway debut in 2008 with 13: The Musical, had performed ‘The Wizard And I’ from Wicked back in 2018 as part of NBC’s A Very Wicked Halloween special. That same night, she shared a photo with Idina Menzel, who played Elphaba in the musical’s original Broadway run.

More recently, Grande recruited Kristin Chenoweth, who starred alongside Menzel as Glinda, to be her team advisor on The Voice. The two had previously performed together on Chenoweth’s 2019 album ‘For The Girls’, where they covered Lesley Gore‘s classic ‘You Don’t Own Me’.
