Megan Thee Stallion Is a ‘Stand Out With No Handouts’ in Flossy Pre-Graduation Photo Shoot

Forget doctoring up your mortar board, this matriculation season it’s all about B.A. bikinis. Megan Thee Stallion set the new standard for graduation gear on Thursday (Nov. 4) when she posted a series of photos from her non-conventional college celebration, which included a fleet of candy paint luxury cars and an electric purple honor cord and matching  purple bathing suit set.

And you know she had a classic catchphrase to match the occasion. “Showed my a– and still went to class,” Meg wrote on Instagram. “IMA ALWAYS STAND OUT WITH NO HANDOUTS doing everything they said I can’t/couldn’t ! Megan Thee Mf Stallion aka the mf Htown Hottie is graduating dec 11th from TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY now go and talk abt that !”

The electric blue, purple, gold and red whips around Meg hammered her message home, with the blue one rocking the “no handouts” credo in neon on the inside of the trunk. And she got plenty of well-wishes from her friends and peers, including Juicy J (“Congrats! Verse killer”), Baby Tate (“Love this!!! Congratulations Megan”) and Slim Thug, who gave her three sign of the horns emoji.

A second shoot had Meg wearing a short black dress as she posed across the huge TSU letters on the college’s campus, fanning herself with a custom bedazzled “Real Hot Girl S–t” mortar board, with TSU-themed nails to match, and teasing what one can only assume will be a smokin’ graduation party on the 11th.

Check out Megan’s graduation pics below.

Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak Drop Retro Soul Video For Buttery ‘Smokin’ Out the Window’

Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars take it all the way back to the 1970s Soul Train era in the retro video for their Silk Sonic single “Smokin’ Out the Window.” The visual for the third song to drop so far from the dynamic duo’s upcoming joint album finds them going through their choreo on an old school TV set while rocking wide lapel tuxedo jackets.

“Must have spent 35, $45,000 up in Tiffany’s (oh no)/ Got her bad ass kids runnin round my whole crib like it’s Chuck E Cheese (whoa, whoa)/ Put me in a jam with her ex-man in the UFC/ Can’t believe it (can’t believe it)/ I’m in disbelief,” Mars croons over the spare soul track. “This b—h got me payin her rent, payin for trips, diamonds on her neck, diamonds on her wrists/ And here I am all alone (all alone)/ I’m so cold, I’m so cold, you got me out here,” .Paak adds before the pair combine for the swoony chorus.

“Smokin out the window (smoking out the window)/ Singing how could she do this to me (how could she do this to me)/ Oh I thought that girl belonged to only me/ But I was wrong Cuz she belong to everybody, everybody,” they sing in the clip co-directed by Mars and John Esparza. “Smokin’” follows on the heels of the similarly throwback-sounding previous singles “Leave the Door Open” and “Skate,” which are slated to appear on their upcoming duo debut, An Evening With Silk Sonic, due out on Nov. 12.

Speaking to NME in a recent interview, Alex Kapranos described the latter as “quite a different-sounding song” for the group. “Sonically, it’s more at the silky dance floor end of what the band is about,” he added.

Kapranos also spoke about the process of deciding on a tracklist for ‘Hits To The Head’, explaining that it was “like how you would choose the setlist at a festival”, mixing “bangers” with more “retrospective” moments.

News of Franz Ferdinand’s new compilation and the accompanying tour comes after the band parted ways with their original drummer, Paul Thomson.

Drake Drops Black & White Murder Mystery Video For ‘Knife Talk’

Drake barely missed spooky season. Just days after Halloween, Drizzy dropped the horror show video for “Knife Talk,” the minor key creeper featuring Project Pat and 21 Savage from his Certified Lover Boy album. Mixing in footage from the 1962 low budget horror thriller Carnival of Souls and the 1971 Italian slasher flick o Strangolatore di Vienna — about a butcher who accidentally kills his wife then grinds up her body and sells it as sausage — the Pablo Rochat-directed clip is guaranteed to give you the chills.

The black and white visual also tosses in some classic old-school cartoons in between shots of Pat and Savage in dimly lit street scenes as the body-dropping lyrics tell a story of no remorse. “I’m mister body catch, slaughter gang soul snatcher/ Ain’t no regular F-150, this a f—in’ Raptor,” Savage raps over the ominous Metro Boomin and Peter Lee Johnson beat amid images of a woman stabbing a man in the back.

By the time Drake shows up — standing in the dark with an ominously large kitchen knife on what looks like gritty CCTV footage — his looming presence is only overshadowed by Savage, who pops back into the frame as a creepy doll whose lips move in time with his second verse.

CLB returned to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated Nov. 6 for a fifth nonconsecutive week on top, bumping up from No. 2 on 74,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., according to MRC Data.

Bundle Up, Because Mariah Carey’s Wintry ‘Fall in Love at Christmas’ Video Will Give You Chills

With temperatures just starting to drop across the nation, Mariah Carey is here to give you some cozy holiday cheer. The Queen of Christmas dropped the snuggly visual for her new holiday classic in the making, “Fall in Love at Christmas,” on Friday morning (Nov. 5) and it goes down like a big, beautiful glass of spiked egg nog.

Straight from the Butterfly Lounge, MC spreads the cheer with Khalid and gospel great Kirk Franklin in the clip that finds the three hanging in their PJs in Mariah’s living room as they croon over the track’s finger-picked guitars and subtly chiming sleigh bells.

“And every Christmas I’ll be there/ This time of year, we’re both aware/ We gotta fall in love again at Christmas time,” Carey and Khalid croon in unison as they enjoy a cocktail while Franklin tinkles the ivories just steps away. And you know Mariah wouldn’t just rock one look, as she changes from her basketball jersey and cover up into a glittering golden holiday party dress to step out into the nighttime snow.

To really hammer home the holiday message, the chorus has a clever Christmas twist, as they sing, “Fa la la, fall in love with the feeling/ Fa la la, fall in love trust believe we can/ Fall in love again at Christmas time.” And yes, you better believe there’s a snowy whistle note or three in there and, as promised in an earlier tease, a gospel choir breakdown in the outro that takes the arrangement up a dozen notches.

Apple announced on Tuesday (Nov. 2) that Mariah will return to Apple+ next month with a new holiday special, Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues, which will feature guests spots from her “Fall in Love” collaborators, who will join her for the first and only performance of the single.

Kanye West defends performing with Marilyn Manson and DaBaby, criticises Me Too movement

Kanye West has defended his decision to perform alongside Marilyn Manson and DaBaby, while describing the Me Too movement as “power and politics”.

West – now legally known as Ye – took part in a lengthy, wide-ranging interview on the Drink Champs podcast yesterday (November 4).

READ MORE: Kanye West – ‘DONDA’ review: some gems among lots – and lots – of filler

At one point in the conversation, he spoke out on having courted controversy for recently working with Manson and DaBaby.

“All the Me Too… like, when I sit next to Marilyn Manson and DaBaby right after both of them got cancelled, for five songs, you know, it’s like they can’t cancel us all,” Ye explained.

“They’ll hit you with the accusations of somebody who you was with 10 years ago.”

He continued: “And also, there’s women who’ve been through really serious things, pulled in alleys against their will – that’s different than a hug, but it’s classified as the same thing.

“It’s power and politics. You know, power-hungry maniacs and just control. This is 1984 mind control we’re in.” You can watch the interview in full below.

Manson participated in West’s live-streamed Sunday Service event last weekend (October 31). He also has a writing credit on Ye’s new album ‘DONDA’ for the track ‘Jail Pt 2’.

The musician – real name Brian Warner – has been accused of sexual assault, misconduct and abuse by multiple women in the past year, including his former partner Evan Rachel Wood. He has denied the allegations, calling them “horrible distortions of reality”.

Back in August, Manson and DaBaby joined West at his ‘DONDA’ listening event at the Soldier Field stadium in Chicago. DaBaby addressed being “cancelled” during his appearance.

It came after DaBaby faced backlash for making homophobic comments at Rolling Loud Miami.

Meanwhile, a deluxe version of Kanye West’s ‘DONDA’ has reportedly been teased on Apple Music.

Both editions will will feature the original record, plus 11 additional tracks that the band used as B-sides. You can view the artwork for the reissue below.

The Sheffield band’s 2006 debut album was hailed by NME and described “as a fantasy pop, performed to perfection”.

It added: “With a music scene awash with [Arctic Monkeys copyists], such gritty realism is a welcome relief. The Long Blondes have had enough of life-kicking around takeaway trays on the streets of Planet Earth. Instead, they’ve made a record that’s in a world of its own.”

The Long Blondes released a follow-up album ‘Couples’ in 2008 but split up that same year after guitarist Dorian Cox suffered a stroke.

“We have decided to call it a day,” he wrote at the time. “The main reason for this is that I suffered from a stroke in June and unfortunately I do not know when/if I will be well enough to play guitar again.

“On behalf of the band I’d like to say a big thank you to anyone who ever came to one of our shows, bought one of our records or danced to one of our songs in a club. Thank you, if it wasn’t for you the whole thing would have been pointless. Finally on a personal note, thanks for all your well-wishing messages.”

Speaking of the new reissue, Cox said now: “Just like you’ll never forget your first crush, you’ll never forget the first time The Long Blondes drove you home… We took you to Giddy Stratospheres once, let us do it again…”
