New Balance Blends Heritage Grey With Sporty Blue On This 992

The New Balance 992 experienced a blockbuster 2020, fueled in part by the unshakeable “dad” shoe trend that rose to prominence a few years back. A year later, the silhouette continues to be a mainstay within the brand’s roster of offerings, with its latest ensemble sporting both drab grey and black, as well as vibrant blue and orange.

As was the case when the model debuted in 2006 for the New Balance‘s 100th anniversary, the recently-launched pair features a performance-informed mesh base and premium pig suede upper. Most of the aforementioned materials are clad in bold blue, but paneling at the mid-foot and along much of the mudguard deviate in more understated grey and black tones. Part of the tongue, inner-lining and tooling at both the heel and outsole also opt for pitch-dark makeups. Wedged in-between, the tried-and-proven ENCAP-cushioning and ABZORB system combination stick to a rather simple look, though the window at the lateral forefoot reveals orange cushioning.

Enjoy images of the pair here below, and anticipate a wider NewBalance.com launch soon.

Where To Buy The Air Jordan 13 Low “Singles Day”

Although Singles Day is a tradition typically observed in China, Jordan Brand is extending the festivities on a global scale with their upcoming Air Jordan 13 Low “Singles Day”. Thankfully, the design of the sneakers don’t exactly point to any specifics of bachelordom. Instead, this futuristic concept, which includes full glow-in-the-dark outsoles, a digital font on the upper, and a geometric pattern achieved by stitching, is one of the best releases of this holiday 2021 season.

The two preceding Singles Day Jordans – 2020’s Air Jordan 6 and 2019’s Air Jordan 4 – relied on an ornate floral tapestry; the former had it embroidered across its exterior, while the latter hid it under a wear-away red paint exterior. The 2021 Singles Day Jordans ditch that direction completely for one that is, quite honestly, a fitting tribute to the upcoming Matrix: Resurrections film.

See the official store list ahead and enter as many raffles as you can if you’re looking to cop at retail. The SNKRS Draw is also scheduled for November 11th, 2021.

Who Has Won the Most CMA Awards This Century?

You may be aware that Brooks & Dunn and Vince Gill are tied for the most CMA Awards — 18 each. But Brooks & Dunn won most of their awards, and Gill won all of his, in the last century. So who leads for the most awards won in this century?

Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley are tied for the lead with 14 CMA Awards each since 2000.

In anticipation of Wednesday night’s 55th annual CMA Awards, here’s a list of everyone who has won five or more CMA Awards in this century.

Miranda Lambert, 14: Lambert has amassed all of these wins since 2010. The tally includes two awards for album of the year, for Revolution (2010) and Platinum (2014).

Brad Paisley, 14: Paisley has amassed all of these wins since 2000, when he won the horizon award (now called new artist of the year). His wins include album of the year for Time Well Wasted (2006) and entertainer of the year (2010).

Keith Urban, 12: Urban has landed all of these wins since 2001, when he won the horizon award. His awards include widely separated wins for entertainer of the year (2005 and 2018).

Kenny Chesney, 11: Chesney has landed all these wins since 2004. His tally includes four wins for entertainer of the year and two awards that were announced earlier today – musical event of the year and music video of the year for “Half of My Hometown,” a collab with Kelsea Ballerini.

Mac McAnally, 10: The session guitarist has won all these awards since 2008. They have all come in the musician of the year category.

Blake Shelton, 10: Shelton has won all of these awards since 2010. His tally includes entertainer of the year (2012) and album of the year for Based on a True Story (2013).

Chris Stapleton, 10: Stapleton has amassed all of these wins since 2015, when he won new artist of the year. His tally includes two wins for album of the year for Traveller (2015) and From A Room: Volume 1 (2017).

Alan Jackson, 9: Jackson has won more CMA Awards in this century than anyone else who landed their first CMA Award in the last century. He won seven CMA Awards in the 1990s. His tally for this century includes back-to-back wins for entertainer of the year (2002-03).

Taylor Swift, 9: Swift has won all of these awards since 2007, when she won the horizon award. She won twice for entertainer of the year, in 2009 and 2011. (Imagine how high up the list she would be if she hadn’t made a mid-career transition to pop.)

Brooks & Dunn, 8: In addition to these eight awards, the duo won 10 awards in the 1990s. Kix Brooks & Ronnie Dunn’s wins in this century include single and music video of the year for “Believe” (2006). (In addition, Dunn won one award apart from Brooks for song of the year for “Believe.”)

Little Big Town, 8: The quartet has won all of these awards since 2012. Its tally includes two wins for single of the year, for “Pontoon” (2012) and “Girl Crush” (2015).

Tim McGraw, 7: In addition to these seven awards, McGraw won four awards in the ‘90s. His top award in this century is entertainer of the year (2001).

Rascal Flatts, 7: The trio won all of these prizes since 2002, when they won the horizon award. Their other six awards were for vocal group of the year.

Carrie Underwood, 7: Underwood has won all of these awards since 2006, when she won the horizon award. Her tally includes five trophies for female vocalist of the year.

Lady A, 6: The trio has won all of these awards since 2008, when they became the first winners of new artist of the year following its name change from the horizon award. Their wins include back-to-back single of the year awards for “I Run to You” (2009) and “Need You Now” (2010).

George Strait, 6: These six wins are in addition to 11 that King George won in the ‘80s and ‘90s. His wins in this century include back-to-back album of the year awards for It Just Comes Natural (2007) and Troubadour (2008).

Lee Ann Womack, 6: Womack has won all of these awards since 2000. Her tally includes two awards for single of the year for “I Hope You Dance” (2000) and “I May Hate Myself in the Morning” (2005).

The Chicks, 5: In addition to these five awards, the trio won five awards in the ‘90s. Their top awards in this century include album of the year for Fly and entertainer of the year (both 2000).

Luke Combs, 5: Combs has won all of these awards since 2018, when he won new artist of the year. He won album of the year last year for What You See Is What You Get.

Dann Huff, 5: The producer has won all of these awards since 2001. The wins include back-to-back awards for single of the year for Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” (2016) and Keith Urban’s “Blue Ain’t Your Color” (2017).

Maren Morris, 5: Morris has won all of these awards since 2016, when she was named new artist of the year. Her wins include album of the year for Girl (2019).

Kacey Musgraves, 5: Musgraves has won all of these awards since 2013, when she was named new artist of the year. Her wins include album of the year for Golden Hour (2018).

Sugarland, 5: The duo has won all of these awards since 2007. All five were for vocal duo of the year.

Note to our readers: We’ll update this story following Wednesday night’s awards show. Check back and see how high your favorites land.

Dashboard Confessional announce new album ‘All The Truth That I Can Tell’

Dashboard Confessional have announced the release of a new album called ‘All The Truth That I Can Tell’ – listen to its first single below.

The band’s first LP since 2018’s ‘Crooked Shadows’ is set to arrive on February 25 via Hidden Note Records/AWAL.

“Honesty was at the heart of the writing process, at the heart of the recording process, and at the heart of this collection of songs,” frontman Chris Carrabba said of the album.

“I had the rare opportunity to be unflinchingly honest. But I think I would have thought in the early days that that would be commonplace. Now, I realise it’s some kind of cycle within your life and there’s great personal reward in accepting that.”

News of the new album comes alongside its first single, ‘Here’s To Moving On’, an optimistic track that examines how the simplest of changes can give the most joy.

Carrabba said of the single: “I think in this song I find myself understanding what brought me to the mat and what it takes to get up off the mat. Sometimes what brought you to the mat are outside forces and sometimes it’s you, yourself. Or it can be all those things. But it does seem the only thing that gets you up off the mat isn’t outside forces – it’s always you.”

You can listen to ‘Here’s To Moving On’ below:

Check out the tracklist for ‘All The Truth That I Can Tell’ below:

01. ‘Burning Heart’
02. ‘Everyone Else Is Just Noise’
03. ‘Here’s To Moving On’
04. ‘The Better Of Me’
05. ‘Southbound And Sinking’
06. ‘Sleep In’
07. ‘Me And Mine’
08. ‘Sunshine State’
09. ‘Pain Free In Three Chords’
10. ‘Young’
11. ‘All The Truth That I Can Tell’

Last year, Carrabba sustained “severe injuries” in a motorcycle accident.

Sharing a photo of himself laying in a hospital bed, the Carraba told fans: “My injuries were severe but not life-threatening.”

“I owe the amazing doctors, nurses and medical team treating me my endless gratitude. I am determined to make a full recovery, but I have surgeries and months of rehab to come.”

Drake urged to accept Kanye West concert offer by Larry Hoover Jr.

Larry Hoover’s son has publicly called on Drake to accept Kanye West’s proposed “peace offering” concert in support of his father’s release from prison.

READ MORE: Kanye West – ‘DONDA’ review: some gems among lots – and lots – of filler

Following the latest series of digs exchanged between Drake and Ye – an on-and-off feud that’s been active since at least 2009 – the latter linked up with Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince earlier this week (November 8) to offer Drake a resolution to their feud, inviting him to collaborate on a live show celebrating “the two biggest albums of the year” (West’s ‘DONDA’ and Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’).

The prospective show would also serve as an avenue for the pair to raise awareness for Larry Hoover, who is currently serving six life sentences for charges relating to gang activity.

“Drake, you a leader and leaders make decisions that people follow,” Hoover Jr. said in a video posted by TMZ earlier today (November 10). “Man, this would be big. This is like Michael Jackson and Prince … Come together, put whatever y’all differences are down … Let’s be bigger than that.”

“[The concert] is also to pass the message that [my father] qualifies to come home as far as the First Step Act is concerned,” he added. “People are concerned about what he might do, but this is the type of things that he can do — he can bring people together, he can hopefully bring a lot of peace to our community.”

Hoover Jr. conceded that the concert might not happen, but asked that Drake consider the offer for his family’s sake.

“I would appreciate it and my father would appreciate it,” he added. “Me and my mother spoke with Drake and he was saying that he is willing to extend the hand and help out however he can. The concert thing, we still working on that.

“Mr. Prince is dealing with Drake and speaking with him directly, so he would have to pretty much pass the information on for that as far as him coming all the way in. But hopefully in a few days it’s looking good, it’s looking like he should be moving forward to maybe take part in this whole thing.”

Larry Hoover has been in prison since 1973 when he was convicted of killing 19-year-old drug dealer William “Pooky” Young, and has since faced additional charges of conspiracy, extortion and money laundering following a long-running investigation into his alleged criminal enterprise.

Ye has been vocal about his support for Hoover’s release since 2018, when he met with then-President Donald Trump at the White House to negotiate his pardon. He also featured an emotional plea from Larry Hoover Jr. regarding his father’s incarceration on his latest album ‘DONDA’.

“Donda helped show people that my father is a human being,” Hoover Jr. told TMZ. “They look at my father as Larry Hoover the gangster and all the negative activity that they put around his name and that the media put there; DONDA was my first opportunity to give my narrative and let people see him as a person and know who he is.”

Meanwhile, West dedicated the latest edition of Sunday Service to the victims of the “mass-casualty” crowd crush at Travis Scott‘s Astroworld festival. Drake has since posted a statement saying his “heart is broken” after he appeared on stage with Scott during the set in question.

Gang Of Youths announce new album ‘Angel In Realtime’ and 2022 Australia and New Zealand tour

Gang Of Youths have announced the release of their highly anticipated third album, ‘Angel In Realtime’.

READ MORE: Gang Of Youths on ‘The Angel Of 8th Ave.’: “It’s a reflection of love in a new city”

Due out on February 25, the new LP will be the band’s first full-length project in almost five years, following 2017’s ‘Go Farther In Lightness’.

The album’s announcement comes with the release of new single ‘Tend The Garden’, a huge tonal change from their recent work, following a lighter, summery route.

‘Tend The Garden’ is the fourth preview to be shared from the band’s new album. It follows on from lead single ‘The Angel Of 8th Ave.’, and subsequent releases ‘Unison’ and ‘The Man Himself’.

You can listen to ‘Tend The Garden’ below:

Describing it, frontman Dave Le’aupepe said it was inspired by his father, as is much of the album; his father’s face adorns the album’s artwork.

“My dad was a gifted and passionate gardener. It’s where he funnelled a lot of his energy and sensitivity, and despite our humble economic status, we were always surrounded by beauty,” Le’aupepe said in a press release.

“The journey he made from Samoa to NZ to Australia was a difficult and inspiring one, but also fraught with mistakes, regret and terrible choices. I like to think he was building something beautiful, and pondering what life had given him in spite of his mistakes and concealment. We never knew his story until after he died, so this is the most poetic interpretation of his affinity for gardening that I could think of.”

The band as a whole went on to say that the album is also about “Indigenous identity, death, grief and God. And also the Angel, Islington.”

View the album’s artwork and track listing below:

‘Angel In Realtime’ tracklist:

01. ‘You In Everything’
02. ‘In The Wake Of Your Leave’
03. ‘The Angel Of 8th Ave.’
04. ‘Returner’
05. ‘Unison’
06. ‘Tend The Garden’
07. ‘The Kingdom Is Within You’
08. ‘Spirit Boy’
09. ‘Brothers’
10. ‘Forbearance’
11. ‘The Man Himself’
12. ‘Hand Of God’
13. ‘Goal Of The Century’

Gang Of Youths have also announced a homecoming tour, where they’ll play a string of dates around Australia and New Zealand. The tour will begin in Perth on July 30, before playing Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart in August.

The band will then head to New Zealand for shows in Wellington and Auckland, before coming back to Australia for a final show in Brisbane.

Tickets for all dates of the tour will go on sale at 9am local time next Friday (November 19). Australian fans will be able to access a Telstra Plus pre-sale from 3pm local time on Tuesday (November 16), while New Zealand fans can grab tickets from the Handsome Tours pre-sale at 3pm local time next Thursday (November 18).

Jay-Z Wins Trial Over Soured Cologne Deal, Avoiding $67M in Damages

A Manhattan jury on Wednesday (Nov. 10) cleared Jay-Z in a lawsuit that claimed he breached an endorsement deal for a “Gold Jay-Z” cologne brand by failing to properly promote it, allowing the superstar to avoid $67 million in requested damages.

Capping off a contentious three-week trial over the soured product deal with Parlux Fragrances LLC, the jury was apparently swayed by arguments from Jay-Z’s attorney that asked “why on earth” the star would have put his name on a product that he wanted to fail.

Wednesday’s verdict awarded nothing to Parlux, but also declined to award any money to Jay-Z, who had sought roughly $6 million in royalties he said he was still owed under the deal.

“You failed to prove your case, they failed to prove their case,” Justice Andrew Borrok said to an attorney for Parlux after the verdict was read aloud in court. “You’re excused.”

In a statement to Billboard following the jury’s verdict, Jay-Z said: “I’d like to express my gratitude to the jury, especially during these difficult times.”

Wednesday’s verdict came after nearly six years of litigation over “Gold Jay-Z,” which the superstar launched in 2013 through a partnership with Parlux, which had previously launched licensed fragrances with other major artists like Rihanna.

Parlux accused Jay-Z and his S. Carter Enterprises of failing to promote the fragrance, breaching the terms of their business contract and costing the company millions. The lawsuit said he refused to appear for events like Good Morning America and then refused to approve later iterations needed to keep the brand relevant.

Jay-Z denied the accusations, saying he fulfilled his obligations under the agreement despite numerous missteps from Parlux that threatened to damage his personal brand. He countersued, saying he was still owed millions in royalties.

A jury trial kicked off on Oct. 18, featuring two days of heated testimony from the star himself. Jay-Z repeatedly sparred with Parlux’s attorney, calling him out for using “lawyer tricks” and even threatening to file a new lawsuit.

Closing arguments came Tuesday. Jay-Z lawyer Alex Spiro, of the firm Quinn Emmanuel, argued that the entire case was “misunderstanding” and that Parlux had actually breached the deal first by how it had conducted itself.

Meanwhile, Parlux attorney Anthony J. Viola, of the firm Mintz Levin, said Jay-Z had “thrown sand in the gears of what Parlux was trying to do” when they disagreed over how to promote the product. He also accused Jay-Z and his company of destroying evidence by deleting certain emails, and asked the jury to award a total of $67.6 million in damages.

Parlux is certain to appeal the verdict, first by asking the judge to overturn the verdict and then by taking the case to a state appeals court. The company could argue that the judge unfairly allowed certain evidence, or that jurors could not legally have reached their conclusion based on what they heard.

The BAPE STA Sets Up For Spring With A Pastel-Rich Pack Of Colorways

Since bringing back the BAPE STA, A BATHING APE has never let their foot off the gas. Following an extremely limited collaboration with Stadium Goods, the Japanese streetwear brand is dressing up the silhouette in a few pastel-rich colorways.

Like the college-inspired pack before it, the range is comprised of three different pairs. And while they may lead with different colors, all are built atop a predominantly white base. This neutral appears along the toe, mid-panel, and midsole, framed at all sides with a Spring-appropriate selection of hues. First, pink and aqua blue are used in tandem, the former painting atop many of the smooth leather overlays. Along the next, the cool tone is given the stage, highlighted next to a mint green STA logo and matching laces. And finally, the same green helps round out the collection, now outshining the pink used along its aforementioned counterpart.

Enjoy a detailed look at all of the above here and expect to see them at BAPE.com and BAPE stores on November 13th.

Paulo Londra Lands *Two* Videos in YouTube’s Billion Views Club

Argentine trap star Paulo Londra has logged two entries in YouTube’s Billion Views Club this week, thanks to the Lenny Tavárez-assisted “Nena Maldición” and “Adán y Eva.”

The tracks’ official music videos, both from 2018, each crossed 1 billion views this week, becoming Londra’s first and second videos to achieve the feat.

On the Billboard Argentina Hot 100, “Adán Y Eva” peaked at No. 1 back in 2018. Meanwhile, “Nena Maldición” spent 14 weeks on the tally, peaking at No. 61 that same year.

News of Londra’s two music videos raking in 1 billion views comes during a busy week for the singer-songwriter. A multimillion-dollar, two-year dispute between Londra and his label, Big Ligas, was settled amicably in a Miami courtroom Wednesday (Nov. 10), just three days into the trial.

In a statement provided to Billboard by Londra and Big Ligas’ attorneys, they said: “The parties’ lawyers have stated that the parties are happy to announce that they have resolved their differences and that they will make a joint press release in the future.”

Warner will continue to administer Londra’s existing works, but no comment was provided as to his future projects.
