An Ode To New York Sports Teams, by adidas Originals

It’s a great time to be a New York sports fan. Every team represented in the Big 4 of American professional sports are all contenders in their own right, and whether your follow one or multiple squads, that NYC pride is truly valid in 2023.

adidas Originals is honoring the fandom with a special capsule of retro basketball footwear from the 1980s inspired by the striking colors of some of these teams. Not all are represented (sorry Yankees, Jets, and Nets fans), but anyone rocking with the Mets, Knicks, Giants, and Rangers have a special treat coming in early April.

The Rivalry Low ’86, an iconic sneaker in the history of hoops footwear, gets dressed in blue and orange in two ways. With no specific call-out to either the Mets or Knicks, both are suitable to wear if you represent one, the other, or both. The same goes for the Conductor High, as the royal blue and varsity red accents are a perfect match for Giants and Rangers fans.

All three pairs are anchored by a custom “NY” logo on the heel and tongue, embroidered in jersey fashion and stylized in that unmistakeable New York style font. April 3rd is the date to cop these ($110 for the Rivalry, $130 for the Conductor) so check out the detailed look ahead.
