Adele’s comeback single has been out for less than 24 hours, but she has already broken a major record.

“Easy On Me,” the lead single from Adele’s upcoming 30 album, has become Spotify’s most-streamed song within a single day as of Friday (Oct. 15), a Spotify rep confirmed to Billboard. The 33-year-old artist released the piano-driven ballad at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday.

BTS’ “Butter” previously held the record for the streaming platform’s largest single-day streams for a song, scoring more than 20.9 million global streams on May 23. Spotify currently reaches 365 million monthly active users, and its first-day stream calculations account for multiple time zones across the world.

In a statement posted to Adele’s Twitter account on Wednesday, the British singer reflected on the recording of her 30 album and shared with fans how the process has allowed her to grow as an individual.

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it 3 years ago. Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly — willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!” she wrote in the sentimental note. “I’ve learned a lot of blistering truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones.” According to Adele, “I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life.”

Before concluding her message, Adele called 30 her “ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life”  and said the album helped her emerge stronger, adding, “I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it. Home is where the heart is.”

Adele’s 30 is set to be released on Nov. 19 via Melted Stone/Columbia Records.
