Adele says that she’s going to Super Bowl LVII, but only to watch Rihanna’s halftime show performance. The iconic U.K. singer shared her excitement for the show during one of her Weekends with Adele Vegas concerts at Ceasar’s Palace this week.

“I’m going just for Rihanna!” Adele said, before adding, “I don’t give a freaking flying fuck.” The Super Bowl will kick off on Sunday, February 12 in Glendale, Arizona. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will be taking on Jalen Hurts and the Philidelphia Eagles.

This week wasn’t the first time that Adele has shared her love for Rihanna. Back in 2018, she penned a tribute to the singer in honor of her placement on Time‘s 100 Most Influential People.

“I actually can’t remember the first time I met Rihanna; I was probably numb from the shock of it,” Adele said at the time. The Grammy winner continued in her piece: “Whenever I’ve met her, she’s been the most gracious, loyal and funny goofball of an icon. She glows like when someone’s taken a picture with a flash and you’re dazed for a few minutes after. But it’s also very clear in that glow that she genuinely doesn’t give a f–k; she’s fearless and full of all the right kind of attitude to be everything that she is and will be forever.”

Rihanna has yet to announce a setlist for the highly-anticipated performance. However, last week, players for the Eagles named their favorite songs from the singer. Among the selections were “What’s My Name,” “Umbrella,” “Rude Boy,” “Work,” and “FourFiveSeconds.” There have further been rumors circulating that Rihanna is planning a massive North American tour later in 2023. If true, she’ll be hitting Europe the following year. “She has her North American dates ready to announce for 2023 after the Super Bowl. It will be a matter of time before she announces European dates for 2024,” a source recently revealed to The Sun. Check out Adele’s comments on Rihanna below. The 2023 Super Bowl airs on Fox Sunday, February 12 at 6:30 PM, ET.
