Nia Long Speaks On Dating After Split From Ime Udoka

Nia Long shared her thoughts on dating weeks after she broke up with NBA coach Ime Udoka. While dating rumors continued to hit her left and right since, the actress set the record straight. Overall, from what she said on The Drew Barrymore Show, she’s not in any rush.

Moreover, this news comes after Udoka’s public cheating scandal, which exploded in September of 2022. The coach had a consensual but inappropriate relationship with a staffer for the Boston Celtics, and Long split with him months later. However, when she spoke to Barrymore, she shared that she’s got her “eye on one person.

“I’m not saying,” she joked. “I’m never telling.” Afterwards, the host shared that she enjoys the dating process. Then Nia admitted that she’s a bit anxious about the prospect. “You do? I’m so nervous,” she stated. “Are you on the dating apps? We gotta talk about this.”

Also, the 52-year-old said confirmed that she’s “so single” at the moment. Still, rumors recently spread of a potential romance between her and R&B singer Omarion. Moreover, The Shade Room shared a video of them on a red carpet where they took pictures together and Long grabbed his hand. “The smile on Omarion’s face says it all!” TSR captioned the post.

However, Nia Long even went to the lengths of commenting on that post to get her say in all the gossip. “Everybody simmer down…” she wrote. “I’m single AF.” With all these people breathing down her neck, she might relate to what she said about Will Smith carrying a burden.

“I will always love him,” she said to Yahoo. “He’s had an incredible career, and he’s carried a burden for many years to try — to represent what perfection looks like. Or what achievement looks like… I don’t think that — at least when we were growing up — there was room to be human. I think he’s now able to be human.

“We all have our moments in life where we need to reconcile things that we suppress,” she continued. “And I think — it’s hard growing up in this business and being front and center every day, all day. I’ve had some pretty devastating moments in my life over the last couple of months, and I’ve had to just say ‘It’s alright. You’ll pick yourself back up’ — oh, my God I’m about to cry. You pick yourself back up, and you keep it moving.”

Still, what do you think of Nia Long’s thoughts on dating after her split from Ime Udoka? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for the latest pop culture gossip and relationship rumors.

Lil Yachty Talks About New Album & Being “Taken Serious As An Artist”

Lil Yachty expressed some heartfelt thoughts on his new album Let’s Start Here at a listening party on Thursday night (January 27). While some scratched their heads at Yachty’s diversion into psych-rock, they also praised his creative execution along with many others online. Moreover, the 25-year-old said that his talent, passion, and vision extend beyond what people expected.

“This album is so special and dear to me,” he remarked presumably before the album played. “I think I created it just because I really wanted to be taken serious as an artist, you know. Not just some SoundCloud rapper, not some mumble rapper. Not some guy that just made one hit. You know, I wanted to be really taken serious because music is, like, everything to me. You know, I respect all walks of music, not just rap and hip-hop, everything.

“So I think I wanted to make something to show the world just how great it was to me,” Yachty continued. “If we just gonna be honest, I mean, I had n***as that were copying the swag. I just felt like ‘Okay, cool, everyone can do this, that’s fine, but I’m gonna show y’all what y’all can’t do.’ You feel me? That’s what’s on this other side. I hope y’all are good, I hope everybody got the shrooms in your body. You feel me? Like I said, just no flashes, and… see you n***as on the other side.”

While Let’s Start Here definitely displays Yachty’s talents and passions vividly, its atmosphere also points to that cheeky shrooms comment. In fact, it became a part of his social media rollout, along with his trippy visual style in music videos. In addition to a teaser skit, the Atlanta artist also released a music video for his album cut, “sAy sOMETHINg.”

Still, what do you think of Lil Yachty’s thoughts on Let’s Start Here at his listening event, and what about the new album itself? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, come back to HNHH for more insights from the best creatives in the hip-hop game.

DJ Mustard Paying For Chanel Thierry’s Living Expenses & Credit Card Bills Amid Divorce

Mid-way through 2022, news of DJ Mustard and Chanel Thierry’s divorce shocked many in the music industry. The long-time lovers were together for years prior to the producer’s rise to fame (12 in total). She previously described their separation as “more than heartbreaking.”

Before they were married in 2020, they had three children together. “Finally after three years we decided to take a step out on fate, and date. When I got pregnant with Kiy I was so scared, you told me ‘I got you, I got us.’ I dropped out of college, moved out my mom’s, stayed in YG’s garage for a while (yup, that’s what love will do). Then to your moms, until we got enough money to get our apt,” she recalled of how their family came to be.

Fast forward to 2023, and Mustard and Thierry are feuding like never before. According to documents obtained by Radar Online, his co-parent claims that he’s failing to meet the terms of their financial agreement. However, the California native shut down these allegations, coming back with a court filing of his own.

The DJ says that his ex is making the process difficult for them both. At the same time, he’s been paying for several of her living expenses as well as supporting their offspring.

The new documents reveal that Mustard is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their kids. As for child support, he’s willing to pay the previously agreed-upon amount of $18,342 a month. While it sounds high, Thierry originally requested upwards of $80k for the same payment.

“Chanel’s claim that I have starved her out financially since separation is a flat-out lie,” the 32-year-old writes in his filing. “From the time Chanel and I separated in May 2022, I continued to uphold my obligation to support her and the children. I continued to pay all of Chanel’s living expenses, including all of her credit card bills. I also continued paying Chanel’s housing costs and the children’s expenses including private school tuition.”

The father of three also believes his ex is disregarding their joint parenting plan. Consequently, he says the public is holding him in a “false and defamatory light.”

In response to his, Thierry disputed every saying she was being financially starved. “I cannot control what the media outlets pull from my social media page and what they infer from my writings,” she wrote. On the advice of her attorney, she’s also been “more cautious” about her social media interactions amid the divorce.

The exes began mediation early this month. The family matriarch allegedly said that the music star hasn’t been agreeing to anything “that would benefit the children and not himself.”

Before things became increasingly heated between the former couple, Mustard took a moment last spring to address some of the circulating rumours. At the time, rumour had it that Chanel cheated on him, resulting in their union’s demise.

LeBron James Under Fire For Response To Tyre Nichols’ Death

LeBron James is coming under fire on social media for his response to the death of Tyre Nichols. The 29-year-old died three days following a traffic stop by Memphis Police Department officers. Video from the incident shows the offices brutally beating Nichols, who was hospitalized in critical condition afterward.

“WE ARE OUR OWN WORSE ENEMY!!!” James said in response on Twitter, seemingly referencing the officers being Black.

“He never moved past page 6 in that Malcolm’s book,” one user replied.

Another wrote: “You talking about the lakers? Because if you talking about this current situation bruh nah. Wrong time.”

James also retweeted a post from an MSNBC analyst that wrote: “What’s really clear about some of the reaction to the murder of #TyreNichols is that we’ve failed to fully understand race and it’s construction as a systemic tool. The entire system of policing sees the Black body as a problem. No matter who pulls the trigger.”

“TOO FACTUAL,” James further added.

The video footage of the attack shows all officers repeatedly striking Nichols with their fists, boots, as well as batons for three minutes. Afterward, they rested him against a patrol car and didn’t provide medical aid for another 20 minutes.

The officers involved all face second-degree murder charges as well as charges of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct, and official oppression.

Numerous other voices in the NBA have also spoken out on the attack, including NBPA president Chris Paul, who called for change “at all levels.”

Haviah Mighty’s Jamaican Roots Shine Bright On “Room Service” Single: Listen

Our homepage has already been loaded with intriguing new music this weekend, and we’re not stopping anytime soon. The latest single we hope you’ll add to your playlist comes from Canada’s own Haviah Mighty. She shared her “Room Service” track on Friday (January 27). It came along with an accompanying music video that also revisits a previously released hit.

The JUNO Award-winning artist turned plenty of heads last year with titles like “Honey Bun,” and “Imagine That.” If this week’s arrival is any indication of what’s to come later, 2023 could be her strongest trip around the Sun yet.

Speaking specifically on her latest single in a press release, Mighty shared, “This song reflects on the many phases of denial that I experienced going through a recent breakup. My self-worth was shattered. I convinced myself that things weren’t as bad as they seemed and that it wasn’t my fault.”

The lyricist says that her writing came “from a place of bargaining” this time. While her ex’s actions showed her that what they had was clearly over, she was holding on to a glimmer of hope that she couldn’t let go of.

“For me, this song grew into an anthem of lust, wonderment, desire and delusion,” she later added. “The sultry lead melodies pull you in as I plead for my lover to wait for me. Just hold on. The bouncy synths playfully suck you into a vortex of heavy-hitting 808s and afro-style grooves that remind you that I’m not just a rapper – but also a singer, Jamaican, and Toronto-born.”

Stream Haviah Mighty’s “Room Service” and “Honey Bun” singles on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, tell us which one of the two titles is your favourite in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics:

Yeah you know you too perfect
Come close, yeah you make me too nervous
DND, we don’t need no room service
Make you scream, you become a new person

Fat Joe Blasts Fans For Using Phones At Concerts

Fat Joe called out fans for using their phones to record videos at concerts in a rant on social media. The New York rapper says that he wants attendees to “live in the moment.”

“We live one life … If you go to a show, and you pull your camera out and you’re recording, you’re not really in the moment,” Joe said on Instagram Live. “You’re recording what’s going on. You’re not enjoying it. If you know how to live in the moment … Put some fire signs if you understand what I’m saying. If you don’t then you lost, ’cause this social media got n****s lost. If you can feel the moment, if you can be in the moment, not recording … You can live in the moment.”

From there, Joe reminded his followers that you only live once.

“Listen guys, you only live once. There’s never been nobody on earth, that I know of, to make a U-turn and come back,” he continued. “You have to make the best of your life while you’re here … Some people don’t care about material things, some people don’t care about money. Maybe just being with your family makes you happy, you’re in the moment. You’re doing what makes you happy.”

Joe is far from the first artist to take issues with fans’ use of cell phones at their concerts. Last year, Lil Uzi Vert took a fan’s phone and hurled it into the air at Wireless Festival in London’s Crystal Palace Park. Steve Lacy also recently smashed a fan’s camera at a concert in New Orleans.

La La Anthony Reflects On Love Life, Marrying Carmelo Anthony At A Young Age

Following La La Anthony’s separation from her ex-husband, Carmelo, her love life has been a hot topic in the media. The actress has a wide-spanning circle of female friends throughout Hollywood. This puts her in contact with some of the industry’s most eligible bachelors.

However, the BMF actress has maintained her single status for some time now. Much to fans’ pleasure, she often talks about her dating struggles in interviews. While on Call Her Daddy, she vented about the abundance of young men sliding into her DMs. More recently, she told TMZ that she felt as though no one wants to date her.

In that same conversation with the gossip site, Anthony made it clear that the 22-year-olds attempting to hit on her don’t have much of a chance. Still, she did quote Aaliyah, flirtatiously saying, “age ain’t nothing but a number.”

With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, it looks as though the mother of one may have to turn this year into a Galentine’s affair. She sat down with The Shade Room for an interview earlier this week. At the time, she candidly discussed some of her relationship regrets.

“I started off really young in my relationship. [I] maybe would have tried to [take] my time a little bit more and learn more about love and partnership and marriage,” Anthony began. “And kind of not just jump right into such a heavy, heavy relationship so quickly.”

When asked about her “type” in the same conversation, the 40-year-old shared that she’s not interested in keeping herself in a box. “I want to be open. Like I don’t want to just have a type,” she shared. “I want to be open to maybe a type that I wouldn’t think was my type or something. That’s not the norm that people would expect from me. I think when you are dating, you do have to be open. Because if you have this super checklist, right, then I don’t think you’re gonna find anybody.”

For Anthony, romantic highlights in a man are a great personality, strong communication, and honesty.

In other news, Anthony revealed in another recent interview that she once had aspirations of pursuing a rap career. They obviously never transpired, though she did reveal that her entire top five favourites list is covered by just one artist.

Read which lyricist has La La’s heart here, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
